kat brown replied to likehasjustbegun's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
-Sliced deli meat wrapped in string cheese -boiled eggs -cottage cheese and your fav fruit -shrimp and cocktail sauce from trader joes You shouldn't worry about making yourself sick and throwing up, as long as u eat slow and dont over stuff yourself and you should be fine! Your for sure overthinking it! [emoji4]Lol You should go on pinterest and get ideas, they have alot of cool stuff Sent from my SM-G930P using BariatricPal mobile app -
Im 8mo post op For my post op diet my nutritionist told me no more than 5grams of total fat or sugar per serving. I want to make salmon for meal prep which is high in fat but even 2-4 oz is higher than 5grams of fat, do i just don't eat the damn salmon or what!?!?! 1oz of salmon is 3grams of fat and 6 grams of protein that's not much! but what the hell do i do!! Somebody help me please!? Sent from my SM-G930P using BariatricPal mobile app

Those are the exact flavors i have Chocolate and caramel. Maybe its just my nose but it smells bad for me. -
U know what i thought i was gonna have the same problem i love coke! But once i started my 2 week preop diet it helped alot to wein myself off of it, now that i had my sleeve 4 minths out i dont crave it too much, i do have diet coke every now and then as a treat. I wasnt able to handle carbonation for like 2-3 months because it burned my stomach and gave it a icky feeling. If u cant get over having coke out of ur life maybe drink it less bubbly with alot of ice.

So im about a month 1/2 post op vsg im 30lbs down and now that im able to consume more food on my regular textured diet, im afraid of how much i can consume, My Dr said 4oz of food is normal for me and my nutritionist says 3oz i feel like im able to eat like 4-5oz at a time sometimes to feel satisfied and sometimes full, today i weighed my food to 3oz which was less than half of a salmon fillet and like 4 string beans which was a portion size of a 2 year old and i was still able to fit more in if i wanted to, im thinking how the hell will i get my protein this way!? do you think my nutritionist means 3oz of protein alone with my veggies on the side or my entire meal should be 3oz with everything in my plate?

I'm 2 1/2 weeks out with vsg and getting my fluids in was the most frustrating part the first week 1/2 it feels physically impossible and it hurts to get it down but 2 weeks later you will feel the difference that your able to get it down. Anything your feeling right now isn't gonna stay that way.

Yes! I had my sleeve 8 days ago I have the same problem I have the pain in my right rib! Its hurts when I breath, or take deep breath, or laugh Or move a certain way it feels like I'm being stabbed in my rib! I thought it was trapped gas but I'm thinking its not. But by your defiantly not alone on this. I'm going to ask my Dr about it tomorrow.

Post op pain when walking
kat brown replied to nevermore71's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Your not alone! I had my sleeve on the 10th and I'm still walking around hunched and holding my scar where the Dr pulled out my stomach, I still have a hard time getting out of bed. Along with horrible rib pain. -
Girl its a process! But you will get there, it takes time. Don't take gas x!!! That's why I'm in the situation I'm in now, Ur Dr wants you to fart gas x stops it from coming out and then the gas builds up and u end up with painful trapped gas like mines! So don't do it lol. Ur welcome for the info, if u have anymore questions my Instagram is Kat__me0w (spelled with a zero) or email me katb760@gmail.com Good luck!

Yeah the pain wasn't as bad until now, its in my rib cage and when I breath in its feels like I'm being stabbed. But that's just me lol. Usually your surgeon's office will submit a referral to iehp for a psych eval and then iehp will send u the paper in the mail and either therapist will call you or either you will call them. after your eval if they approve for surgery they will send a letter to Ur Dr and then afterwards u prolly need to meet with a Nutritionist and when that's done the dr they will set up a date for you.

The bypass is a bit more complex than the sleeve, I went home the next day after surgery but I'm still recovering, I'm dealing with soreness and crazy gas pains out if this world. I would say it takes about 2-3 1/2 weeks to feel like yourself again, first couple weeks is hard to get down liquids because it hurts and at the same time you don't wanna get dehydrated so thats what I'm struggling with right now, but its getting better and better. Iehp makes u do a 6 month weight watchers program and a psych eval have u done that?

Gas Pains???
kat brown replied to Bariatric Baddie's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Omg I feel your pain! I had my sleeve on the 10th and my gas pains is extremely bad, I have major pain in my right rib and I can't breath or it feels worse! I started crying and that gas pain became deadly! Word of advice don't take gas x it will trap your gas more and u won't be able to fart. That's what's happening to me. I took my Tylenol codine the Dr prescribed and it helps to not feel it as much I don't know how long this is gonna last but it sucks! -
Hey Cathy! I didn't know there were powder vitamins lol but the ones that's I have are bariatric advantage brand, I haven't started them yet though until next week. And during Ur purée stage is a time to get creative, u can get cans a low fat refried beans put come cheese on it for extra protein, u can make tuna or egg salad blended up creamy texture. That's what I plan on doing. Sent from my Nexus 7 using BariatricPal mobile app

Mines was on the 10th too, they had me soooo medicated I was in little pain, but the big pain will randomly come as a surprise and omg did it hurt! Lol I do a agree warmer things go down easier but the pain still comes when its going down, I actually thought today was gonna be a more easy day but I'm starting to feel different about it now, and my mouth keeps salivating ad making foam and if I swollen it will hurt, so I keep spitting every 4 mins this is getting very annoying! Its Instagram, I take it as you don't have one lol. But I think because we are filled with gas and we just need to pass it. During surgery they blow up our stomachs with air so now we have trapped gas everywhere, I haven't had a movement yet, I don't even feel it coming any time time plus I'm scared it will hurt my scars. Any extra discomfort could be coming from not you not having that 2 week diet. I feel a little better than yesterday with the fluids so that's all I'm concentrating on today and taking my meds.
-
i went home on the 11th I got only about maybe 60ml in today that's hardly Nothin! Its so hard to get these fluids in, would be easier if it didn't hurts so much. U can also take my info too to stay in touch! I just keep wondering how long will it last like this?! Sent from my Nexus 7 using BariatricPal mobile app

That's why I got happy when I saw your post, because we have the same date and u sound miserable like me lol. Those sharp chest pains are no joke though, the smallest sip hurt for me.
