    TMI Question for the Ladies

Got mine the day of surgery and they told me to put pad between my legs. It's not that bad. Alot people start after surgery cause of the after shock to the body.

    Can't get protein shake down

Get some Atkins lift water protein drinks. Lemon one is the best one. It was the only thing I could get down after surgery because everything else so thick. They got some on sale at big Lots for 2 dollars a 4 pack.

    Depression

I know how you feel. Kind of like a numb feeling. For me after surgery it felt like a bad breakup with my boyfriend aka food. Kinda feels like you lost someone but there still there and you can't have them. I felt like this for a while. What really help me get out of this funk was finding new things to do. Play tennis, put puzzle together, yoga, and ect. Your a whole new person now. Before you let food control your life and now you don't have that. This time you come first. You got this. If you feel like your depression become worse I would talk to your doctor. I'm on 20 MG of Lexapro and it's helps. Also comes in liquid form so you don't have to swallow a pill. Need support!

Definitely don't compare yourself to others journeys. It all only cause you to have self doubt. What really help me when i found new hobbies instead of turning to food. I start a journal to write everything I was feeling. Only thing you will need at the hospital is slippers. Because the pain meds you will be on will make you so sleepy. So only thing you will be doing is walking and sleeping. Ask your doctor if the hospital gives out stomach binder after surgery. Helps out alot from moving the muscles. Take tons of before pictures and measurements for when you hit weight stalls and scale don't move. Lost 40 pounds in the first two months. I'm 7 months out now and all my pcos symptoms our gone. My period are regular Some apps I used to help me with my weightloss is pinterest (great for healthy recipes), mynetdiary (track calories and liquid intake), monitor your weight (keep track of your weight), and Instagram (great support from other people having vsg). Cheaping on Pre-op diet

I've seen tons of people cheat, but I've seen them do the surgery and not finish it cause they cheat and their liver didn't shrink. You got this. Drink tons of water and try hitting the gym to sweat out of the toxins. It's really not bad. I did a two week liquid diet with nothing but protein shakes. First few days is rough but gets easier.

    Gastric bypass versus Sleeve

I wanted the sleeve because it was a simple surgery. Plus if I ever needed a revision in the future they can make it a rny. I don't think I will need it. My highest weight was 420 pounds. Had surgery on July 2016. My weight is now 273 pounds. Weightloss surgery was the best decision I've ever made. Wish I would have done it years ago. I miss out on so much because of my weight.
  17. Definitely bring slippers to the hospital with you. Because all you will be doing is walking and sleeping. Don't forget to take before pictures and do your measures. Really help when you hit stalls and scale don't move. First two week after surgery it will be hard to even take sips. Only thing that I could get down is Atkins lift protein water. Lemon one my favorite. It's at big Lots right now for 2 dollars a 4 pack. They are usually 10 dollars. I got these mini 2oz red solo cups to keep track of liquids intake after surgery. 2 oz every 15 minutes. Just remember to sip sip sip. You got this.

    Date moved up!

Congratulations. You got this. What help me keep on track before surgery was eating on baby plates and logging my calories in to a app. I use mynetdiary to track all my food in take. When does your liquid diet start?

    December sleevers

Your right on track. Everyone going to lose at different rates depending on age, sex, and if your working out. You should be able to get 2 to 3 oz of food in. Do you have a food scale?

    Approved

This is the best decision I've ever made. In January 2016 I was 420 pounds. I started my 6 month pre op diet. I lost about 80 pounds and was sleeve on July 11, 2016 at 346 pounds. As of today I'm 273 pounds. I won't lie. It hasn't been easy, but it's been so worth it. Be happy answer any questions you have. Do you have instagram?
