Welcome! Feel free to ask questions.. or if you need help

I love that show, but I rather watch it recorded.. is to much drama about how the father died.. I guess they will keep us like that till the last season of that show...
-
Good job, keep it up and get use to shedding pounds.. surgery will help out a lot too.

Welcome ... what surgery ? Svg? I had mine in 3/10/17. It feels great almost 7 months post Op. best of luck in your surgery, you still got time... from here to December try practicing sipping water, eating slow, chewing throughly your food, cut down sugars, and would say cut down alcohol intake, also 30 min rule: no water 30 min after/before each meal... that way your transition post-op will be smooth
-
It doesn’t hurt .. I am actually taking pill now that I am close to my 7th month
-
That’s messed up from your friends... Mine they are the same even when I wasn’t drinking for 6 months, well feel free to reach out [emoji106]

Hey.. you got this.. stay strong and focused.. it is never too late for a new beginning.. wishing you luck in your process and speedy / painless recovery -
I know that feeling, I would say it happened to most of us.. after surgery you will retreat not doing it before LoL. This was my only 1 surgery (and hope last) in mu life.. so I was scared.. once you see the progress you will be very happy with fast results.. so stop doubting and look at others before/after photos to keep you motivated.

All depends on what your Dr or Dietitian said.. in my case post Op was: 2 weeks clear liquids 2 weeks smoochie foods 2 weeks soft foods After 6 weeks I could eat anything.... At 3 weeks I don’t think is worth to eat fruit...since you can only tolerate 4 oz of food.. Maybe try sugar free apple juice or canned fruit (low in sugar), canned fruit it is soft and you can digest better. Good luck

I think a had protein shakes... check with your Dr if you can at least have protein powder... will help to fill you in. As you noted, try to keep yourself busy and sleep more... It is like every habit.. takes a while to adapt... best of luck in your bid day! -
Keep up with good work... I try going 3 times a week and do 1 hr weight training + 1/2 hr cardio. Then 2 to 3 times spin class per week + 1/2 Legs... sometimes I only have time to go 4-5 times a week
-
Weight training, spin class, and HIiT
-
I guess all depends of your Doctor, every doctor has their own recommendations.. in my case I wasn’t allowed to lift anything heavier than 20 lbs first 2 months. The I could do small workouts (stationary bike and jogging). At the fourth month I was allowed to begin weight training (gradually). Better to start slow... Now at my 6th month post OP, I do 3 X week weight training, and 2/3 spin class a week + Leg splits workouts
-
Try doing weight training, as you want to fill out that loose skin with muscle.. there are lots of articles out there... also buy powder collagen and take vitamin C everyday to promote collagen and skin elasticity..

Waiting for surgery as I type this :)

How did surgery go? I hope all well -
How did it go? How are you feeling now?
-
Congratulations... great results... Same here, now I went down to size 36, and had to buy slim fit pants so they last longer through my last 60 lbs to loose Keep it going..
-
Im an not a Dr, but I wasn’t allowed to have protein after my 6th week...that was because protein stick/stays in stomach longer time.. and Dr wanted me to have liquids/soft foods at the beginning.. always check with your Dr, remember takes about 3 to 4 weeks for stomach to heal... good luck

When do you typically STOP losing weight?
1234567890 replied to Lulu_RNY's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Just like Mike_S said it all depends..everyone is different.. Some hit stalls at the 3rd month... others at 6th month etc. I am 6 1/2 months post op, and so far lost 160 lbs. Experienced stall by 5th month.. Remember, you cannot control that, that is your body defending against changes in weight.. Stall will pass, I read if you eat more proteins in the morning will help out, overall do not stress out about it, is just a stage. If you keep following your meal plan you will be fine. Try doing HIIT or cardio mixed with weight lifting, will accelerate your metabolism, and drink/eat protein after your workout for best results. Also keep track of your calories and macros proteins/fats/carbs. Good luck in your journey -
Believe me, you don't want to gulp water.. I had the same feeling during my process (SVG), it is better if you sip water.. I am up to my 6 1/2 month and now I can gulp water when I am really thirsty I can drink 4 oz within 1 min, but feel a bit discomfort after that..
