I hear that! My doctor wants me to lose 25 pounds pre op. It's just not budging !! I believe you have to research yourself!!

I'm at 251! He wants me to lose 25. I do great some days and others I don't. Overall I'm eating better. I am going to just keep trying.

My doctor is saying very similar things. I'm getting an endoscopy and some other tests done to see if I can go with that. He said RNY is malabsorptive and that helps with weight loss too. Thanks.

My doctor is leaning that way too. Why do you think it's better than sleeve?

I'm 61 and going for revision. Just don't know if sleeve or bypass is better for me. But I just don't want to retire and not be healthy enough to enjoy it. Right now I have no energy and I am sick and tired. I'm scared so any words of encouragement or your own good experience stories are so welcome

I'm 61 and had lap band since 2010. Lost 40. Gained it back. I am frightened of surgery but more frightened of being obese and not enjoying my life. I have Type II HBP and no energy at all. I have to do this. Are you all happy you did?? I love food ! Lol. But it's killing me. Any happy stories welcome

So happy to find this! Any updates or good outcomes please share. I'm very nervous. I'm 61 and trying to decide if Bypass or sleeve is a better choice for my band revision. I hear about GERD with the sleeve but dumping with RNY. I am leaning RNY right now. I am type II. HBP and many other weight related things. I need to get my health in control. Thanks

So@bearhugs1975 would you have done bypass from the start? And did the sleeve work on your Diabetes at all?

I realize that but I also realize my weight is hurting me as well. 95% of people who diet on their own gain it back. I have type II , HBP, and a host of other stuff that will kill me. So I think it's "name your poison". Lol. But I appreciate your perspective and will think this through.
