  1. Mac the more reading i do the more i see how not only is every surgeon different, but i guess age, weight, bmi, gender, maybe even ethnicity play a role. i am still going to play it safe and do Clear Liquids and Protein Shakes or the next 48 hours
  2. if you wouldn't mind posting your bmi and preop diet my bmi is 39.5-40. my preop is only healthy foods but i am scared thats not enough. i decided to do liquids(clear and shakes) for 2 days before surgery. i trust my surgeon but i can't see how liquids would hurt. i am wondering if the reason for the "healthy" diet and not a liquid diet is because of my bmi only being 40
  3. just some of my favorites GNC 100% whey is my favorite Protein Powder so far. i mix it with skim plus which i already drank but was also recommended by nutritionist. i tried unjury which was recommended but i hated it. i found it hard to get the powder to dissolve. the GNC stuff dissolves quick. favorite sugar free ice pops are Bomb Pop ice pops. they are the red white and blue ones. i tried the sugar free Popsicle brand ice pops and they don't even come close. if i think of anything else i will keep you all posted 2 MORE DAYS!!!!
  4. Hey MM my surgeon is Dr Karl Strom from mountainside hospital in Glen Ridge/Montclair. my surgery is tues the 10th so i am on liquids today and manana
  5. hey all just had my final appointment today with the surgeon. scheduled for tuesday the 10th. has anyone else been having lapband or surgery dreams. i have had some weird ones....not nightmares though, well kinda. last night i dreamt instead of losing weight i doubled my current size:scared2:. that was the worst one. there have also been some others but none worth sharing. anyone else?
  6. hey jlg i have been debating who i should let in on my secret. as of now just my parents know, unless they told people its just us 3. neither of my 2 sisters know but they don't live at home anymore. one thing i am going to have to do is get a treadmill in the house. i know i will use it if it is there. i also have a stationary bike but i must say its probably from the 70's and not in good condition. luckily my insurance is covering the op so i guess i could look at it as saving 15k. i can use some of that to get some equipment:thumbup: good luck

    NJ banders

hang in there paty. in my opinion the pre diet might be the hardest part. if we are able to maintain a diet we might not need the lapband. i am lucky, my dock just wants me on 3-4 small meals a day with tons of Water, Protein and Vitamins but i know how tough it is to diet. i put me email up above. feel free to contact me

hey tracy hackensack is nice and close to me, like 15 minutes. however i live around the corner from mountainside hospital so thats where i will be getting banded. i have one more test to do before the surgery(stress test). i don't know why i have to do a 4 hour stress test when i already got approved for insurance, but what an i do? i will def be posting and reading the forums after surgery. i am sure i will have questions, and hopefully some answers for anyone getting banded after me. keep in touch anyone from the area who wants to chat can also PM me.
  11. one step closer just did chest xray, bloodwork, ekg. stress test tomorrow and a quick phone convo with the dietician and i am good to go:thumbup:. my insurance is already covering me so i guess this stuff is just for the doctor. you ready for surgery next week?
