"I see a red door and I want it painted black" Said the Rolling Stones. One of my many Theme songs lol. I'll continue with the Black clothes. Spikes included! Love the side eye looks I get even now. I can never tell if they look because I'm fat, or because I'm an experience!

Thanks @Todd_196 Found a couple of apps that looked good when I did a search for that app. I didn't find "My" Fitness Buddy but did find Fitness Buddy. It asks to create a login right away before anything can be done, is that the one?
@BigViffer Really not looking to get huge gains or become "strong as I can". I did that when I was young and really not interested in it at this moment, who know if it will change in time. More just looking to get into descent shape. If the look good comes along with it great. I don't think I'll ever get my "suggested" BMI , I'm just not built that way, but prefer to be a smaller me if at all possible.
    Thanks again gents!!!

I've been banded for several years and have zero problems with the band and there are no foods I cannot eat, so long as chew properly. I've lost more weight than expected, and it is still coming off slowly. I have no regrets having the band. If it comes out, there are other options that I will explore. But, the band gave me my life back and it works for me. I've learned how to eat and how to control the quality of what foods I choose to eat.

That coat is everything! I wear stuff similar to that all the time. Fits my whole "corporate goth" look. Back in middle/high school my mom said I would grow out of it. No ma'am. It just got more expensive 😂

LadySin got a reaction from 🅺🅸🅼🅼🅸🅴🅺 in Insurance approval after setting surgical date?
I sooo hate to be the one to tell you (mostly because I sometimes have to tell patients this at work, though for the life of me I don't how they get my number)
That date your Doctor put on the prior auth request form is just a placeholder. Doctor's can't submit paperwork without giving us (your insurance company) some idea on when you want to have it. Once your MD submits the forms your Insurance has up to 14 days from the date that is was received not the date you want to have your surgery (including weekends) to complete that requests.
It's important to keep that in mind. I've had to tell so many patients that just because your Doctor says your surgery is tomorrow, we didn't get the forms until yesterday. So we've got 14 days. BUT (and this is a very big booty) YOU CAN REQUEST THE REVIEW TO BE EXPEDITED!! Your review will be completed with 72 hours!! YOU CAN EVEN REQUEST SURGERY WITHOUT YOUR MD HAVING SUBMITTED ANYTHING!! It's then my job (or rather your insurance) to reach out to your MD and get all the required forms! YES YOU CAN DO THIS YOURSELF! A well kept secret I'm sharing You just have to pretty mush say yes, to all the questions they'll ask you on why you case needs to be expedited. Let them know you're in unmanageable pain or something.

I had to put my scale someplace I'm too lazy to get to everyday because I too was obsessing over numbers and I haven't even had my surgery yet! I've never felt better for it!
I think it's a great idea to take a step back and just do you. It may be easier to take small steps first. You could start by cutting out 1 or 2 of the sites you visit most. Then see how you feel. Give hiding your scale a try! Also take weekly or even daily pictures of yourself wearing the same thing. A picture is worth a thousand numbers! Buy clothes that are a little too small and see how much better they fit you every time you decide to try it on!

Yep! Me! I've never not been fluffy in some form or fashion. The only thing I've ever wanted (for myself) is to be a "normal" size...to be able wear the cute stuff without looking embarrassing or gross. Finding new clothes effortlessly has never happened. Enjoying shopping....has never happened. Not sweating in all my cracks and crevices just walking around Target for 30min...never happened. I can't imagine a life without all fat people BS, so yeah, it seems like a dream. Part of me has doubts like I'll get the surgery and watch me be the only one it doesn't work on LOL This surgery is definitely not a cake walk (pardon the food reference) nor is it an easy way out of being overweight. We all know this here. This new life will require work. We're hiring someone to re-organize our guts and that's no minor thing. With that comes learning how to live again with our newly re-routed insides. It's like being born again in a way. You're not alone in how you feel...that's for sure! 💓

Oh, I see. I looked up a description and it says it's not good for people with acid reflux issues, but other than that.. same effects. I have BADDD acid reflux, so wouldn't be a good choice for me. Also says not a lot of studies done yet so it's not covered by most insurances. Probably why they don't mention it as an option.

Sounds like a good idea to take a break for a while. I found when I'm high (bipolar here) I get obsessive with twitter and it consumes me so I need to stop cold turkey. It must do something to the wiring in my head.
My shrink has a neat trick for when obsessive thoughts are getting to you - everytime you find yourself worrying about weight, scales, food, whatever is giving you brain cooties, then you need to interrupt the neurons that are strengthening that particular brain pathway. It's like you're cutting a groove in a record that the needle will jump into ever more easily. So to interrupt that negative process she has a trick.

First one is, count to 100, out loud, as fast as you can without slurring the numbers but literally as fast as you can. You can't think about anything else whilst you're doing that. So it re-directs your neuron firing pattern.

The other one is focus on your feet to really concentrate on every little thing you can feel about them.

But yeah, maybe give yourself a break from social media for a while. *hugs* Mental stuff is hard!

Mix sugar-free pudding mix into plain yogurt. It gives it a cheesecake texture and you can control the amount of sweetness by adding small amounts. Smoosh up berries or other fruits and add to plain. My NUT told me foods had to have 10 grams of sugar or less, so I use Chobani Hint, they use a tiny amount of real sugar and fruit. It does have more sugar than something like Triple Zero, but I have remained in ketosis with it and it hasn't encouraged cravings. The artificially sweetened yogurt literally makes me want to vomit. I wonder if you could mix half plain and half artificially sweetened to create not-to-sweet, not-too-sour.

Ok so of course you should do what you feel is best for YOU. I left Facebook completely a couple of years ago and it has improved my life, seriously. Also, you know I'm local and if you want to chat face to face or anything we can do that if you don't want to be online. If you decide you want to, PM me before you leave for a bit and I'll give you my cell #. I fully believe you should do whatever helps you day to day.

Just saw my psychiatrist today. A brief history... I have been seeing psychiatrists since I was about 4 or 5. I have Tourette's and anxiety... unfortunately never grew out of the Tourette's like most kids do (yay me!) Anyways, therapy has NEVER been of benefit to me. I've seen dozens and dozens over my lifetime. I always end up either depressed (which I usually never am) OR extremely argumentative. It's just not a helpful tool for me. I fully support those who benefit from it, though.
I've been struggling in support groups, too, like this and others. I find myself always comparing myself to the stats of other people. I want to be happy for people for losing weight, but like I said in another thread, it just makes me sad and jealous that I'm not there yet. I feel like my entire LIFE revolves around my weight, my food, my vitamins... WAY MORE than it did pre-op. I spend alllll day on various groups and forums. I didn't even own a scale pre-op and now I am on that thing every single day. I am much more obsessed with my size than I was before.
After talking about this with my psych, she suggested I get off all my support groups and forums for a while and focus on non-weight related things. Maybe take some classes or pick up a hobby. Stop obsessing over my weight and comparing myself to others or lamenting that I can't eat what other people further ahead of me (or non-ulcerated) can. I think I'm going to take that advice and leave for a bit. I think it's healthier than sitting staring at stats all day long and getting upset about my slower weight loss.
In a twist of irony, I am going to ask for opinions on this. I enjoy talking to people that have gone through something similar, and giving advice myself, but I cannot stop staring at the stupid tickers, etc. I don't *want* to go, but maybe it's healthier? At least until I am more comfortable with my progress.

I was allowed to have broth and strained Soups (so healthy soups run through a strainer). Bariatric Pal has some Protein soups - I didn't like them, but some people do
I really like the Millie's sipping broth. Counts as some of your liquid. You can put unflavored protein powder (note - it is not no flavor, just no additional flavor).
