Here are some awesome sites to check out low carb/zero carb "breads" and other goodies for when you're ready:
    - https://www.thinslimfoods.com/ (they have actual sliced bread products)
    - https://www.thinslimfoods.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=34 (here's the bread )
    - https://knowfoods.com/collections/frontpage (magical things here)
    - https://shop.thinkproducts.com/ (more magical things)

    Wasa Fiber Cracker Thins
Carb Balance (Mission Low Carb) Small Tortillas, cut into wedges and nuked until crisp on a paper towel
Several low carb breads such as Revolution Rolls (made small to new portion sizes) Here's my recipe version of it. I am biased and think it's the most bread-like: http://fluffychixcook.com/basic-revolution-ary-rolls-low-carb-and-gluten-free/
There are other low carb breads you can buy. Even Sarah Lee has a pretty lower carb.
It's def a YMMV thing. It's way too early to combine bread with Protein. My doc said it's the kiss of death and causes lots of Constipation and concrete in her patients.

Some fear of weight gain keeps me on plan. I gain quickly and it's slow to come off. I log, exercise, keep motivational things on my fridge, set goals, and this challenge is helping. Thanks @GreenTealael
Don't judge. Three months until Vegas. I'm going to see my sister in law on this vacation. At the beginning of my weight loss, she said to me " you know your just going to gain your weight back." 🙄 Anger is a great motivator to stay on plan. I hope to be in the low 130's for Mt Charleston.

I'm interested in know as well. I'm in ths states. I miss carbs and as good as it is, a Dragon [emoji244] just can't live on cauliflower rice.

Oh how I miss sandwiches. Every since I was a very young Sin I loved even thought of two soft folds of goodness, wrapped around an even tastier middle I can nibble on...

OK I either need a sandwich or my wife right now. Not sure.

If anybody probes me about how much weight I’ve lost or what I did to lose it I plan on being passive aggressive and just giving them some type of vague response like “oh you know it’s a process, we’ll see” and then just change the subject. I am not willing to discuss my weight with anybody. If they don’t get the hint then I will just have to say “ I don’t really want to discuss my weight” period!

    It’s no ones business.
In my opinion the average person that has not been obese cannot fathom what it is to lose 175 pounds so there is no point in me telling them a number they cannot wrap their brain around.
I say “a lot”. Then I move on.

LadySin reacted to sideeye in Walking as exercise after surgery
Part of this will be your mindset changing. What you WANT to do physically will shift. For instance, today I deliberately chose the bus rather than other transport, even knowing that would mean a mile walk to the office and then a mile walk back. I also randomly chose to take my dog on a much longer midday walk while on a conference call - altogether I walked 5 miles today, pretty effortlessly.
Before surgery, I would never, ever have done either of those things on a whim. Almost 100 lbs later, it’s just a nonissue.
I will say that you need to figure out your exercise groove. My sister needs to find a gym and sign up for classes, the financial commitment and schedule is what motivates her. Meanwhile I need an open pool pass and opportunistic walking. Neither of our routines would be sustainable or enjoyable for the other.

LadySin reacted to Healthy_life in Walking as exercise after surgery
I was a true couch potato pre surgery. Committing to exercise was a necessary evil that I was not thrilled about. Exercise/activity does not mean you have to step inside a gym. Start slow. Do it even when you don't want to. It gets easier if you make it a habit. You will find you are stronger than you give yourself credit for.
Use your activity/exercise to replace. stress/emotional eating, head hunger or eating out of boredom. Make it a time to process all the changes and mental battles with weight loss. This is the time you carve out for yourself. Don't let anyone interrupt it.
Get zumba videos online and dance your butt off walk and make it about the destination. Take photos. As you get stronger and have more energy challenge yourself to do more. Plan a hike with beautiful views. Make exercise an adventure and not a chore. Buy exercise equipment at a thrift store. (stationary bike, dumbbells or a treadmill) Find your inner bad@ss! You never know where this journey will take you. Who knows how you will feel about exercise six months or a year from now. Many changes coming your way.

I had my bypass in December. Walking in the beginning was great but I love the gym more. Walking is a great form of excercise, it should not slow your progress at all. Good luck with your surgery and your new journey.

Thank you everyone. Liquids are fine and I'm supposed to be on soft solid foods but maybe I'll give it another few weeks before eating certain things.

According to the guidelines I received for gastric bypass, I was on full liquids for the first 4 weeks post op, pureed foods for the next four weeks and only at week 9 could I transition to solids.
I found that many solid foods (such as chicken and steak were difficult to get down). As a result I stayed with softer foods (such as high Protein versions of chili and soups). I have included a few recipes at the end of the following article. http:// http://www.breadandbutterscience.com/Surgery.pdf
Also there is no reason to accelerate your transitions to solids. Just take your time.
So to answer your original question. It is difficult to answer. If you are unable to get down liquids then I would suspect a stricture. If you are unable to get down even small amounts of pureed foods, I would suspect a stricture. But your problem may be that you are transitioning to solids too soon.

Might still be early days for chicken, eat slow, small small bites, pause between bites, lay your eating utensil down, don't talk, don't get distracted, don't brood over what someone said or snide remarks, warm things work better for me. Remember you're not punching a time clock, respect your new gastric environment, it is having to learn to cope too.
I am 9 weeks out, and as I said in the previous thread I have become the DoorKeeper and bouncer at Club Stricture, a job certainly I did not interview 💦🔉for. And I argued for 3 weeks with my Bariatric Team that I DID have a stricture, and OMG the excuses I got! Varied from" You have to give things ⏰time" to " You just want attention!" Oh was the 📣stridecy in my voice a CLue? Finally,to shut ME up they scheduled an🔍 Endoscopy, an EGJ, because of course you never can visualize an bypassed duodenum by EASY MEANs. And who was right? ME ME ME! Yeah I don't have a bunch,of degree letters after my name, but I do know MY body, I have been living in ME a long time and besides I am puking almost as much as I did pregnant, and I can count on my 2 hands without going to toes, the episodes of emesis since then. I do not upchuck freely. So every 2 weeks, October 12, October 26, November 9th, I haul my Happy Hoohah to Ohio State University Hospital to the Endoscopy/Hepatology Lab for Fun and Games. The nurses are starting to recognize me, Dr Noria, the😷 bariatric surgeon who LOVES doing endoscopy greets me by name instead of #. and the surgery tech nurse says I get a Frequent Flyer card at the End of November. Asked if it has a Plumb and Fun sticker,on it? What a lovely idea THAT IS! That's me, a bundle,of fun and weird suggestions!👈👸👉💦So omeprazole twice daily, Zofran 3 times daily, Carafate every 6 hours around the clock and now a new directive, I can no longer be around active smokers or anyone with residue on their clothing. Why? Because my 3 ulcers have weakened. and are now at risk of bleeding/ perforation. Since Tomk8tten and I neither smoke or allow it inside, that's her first intervention. Lovely going up friends, associates, even people on the street, May I sniff you FIRST before we have a conversation? Barely have that many left, remember I have reached the age when peers drop like Flies!😭😝😪

I really want to lose 50 pounds by Feb 2019 (my 50th birthday). I plan on rewarding myself with an awesome trip. That is my motivation. Week 1 I got down to 217.2. Fitness plan is to go to the gym every morning. So far so good.
