Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's weight loss challenge
LadySin replied to Healthy_life's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Dangit the curse has followed me here as well! My dad is from Louisiana and my mom is South Carolina. Here I am, born, bred, raised in Michigan, yet as soon as I open I mouth people are like "what part of Texas are you from?" 😒 OMG all the jokes in school! I was cowgirl this, or Texas toast that. Where on this side of the Mason-Dixon is this mystery accent this people claim I have!? A long time ago when I was a bright eyed and bushy tailed Sin, I was working in a retirement home. This one dude I was taking care of was blind and deaf so he had this device that we would speak into and it would amplify our voice to his headphones. Well that thing sucked ass because we'd have to yell into that thing so damn hard! Whenever I'd take care of him he's say "Oh you're that county gal" Or my favorite "Oh is everything bigger in Texas, or are you just happy to see me?" I'm stuck wondering WTF are you talking about old man? Are you sure you're telling this joke right?Instead I'd just fake laugh. Oh the things we'll tolerate for pay. So long story short; no. No I ain't from the south sweetheart. 😂 -
I couldn't believe no one has started this thread! My date is January 15th! Let's do this together guys!

Let me also say thank you for giving a few days heads up on this. Most of the time it's like damn, give me some time to hide the rice!

I'm definitely in it to win it! I came late to the other challenges so I'd love to be here from the start!

Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's weight loss challenge
LadySin replied to Healthy_life's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Challenge Starting weight: 256.9 Current weight lost: Unknown. Will weight tomorrow! Losing or maintaining weight: losing Fitness/exercise goal: I bought this awesome desk elliptical thingy called Cubii jr. I love it! I use it at my desk all day. I'm gonna have legs like Tina Turner! I also do upper body weight training with resistance bands. Total weight loss at the end of challenge: (Post January 1st 2019) Check in: Tell us how you are doing - (How is your diet and exercise plan going? Any struggles? Stress level? What have you overcome? Any strategies that have helped) Alright dog, what had happend was....CHRISTMAS! You want to know what I did for two days straight? No i didn't eat sweets. Didn't take a sip of egg nog. Didn't even lick pie off my wife's fingers. (A decision I regret deeply) No, none of that stuff! What I did do however, was eat more rice then I have possibly eaten in my life. Not not Black rice, not even brown. In fact the only color evolved with said rice was the guy on the box. No ladies in gents, the culprit was plain, Old. White. Rice. With copious amounts of garlic and onions. I mean whyyy Sin? Whhyyy! Now I'm stuck feeling as bloated as the national debt, and have gotten to know my toilet bowl very well. I'm even on first name bases with the one here a work, Man f**k rice! -
OK I'm I clearly need to look for a new brand of tin for my foil hat because you're all up in my brain girl! (Hey I've just invented a creepy new pick up line!)

Say it a little louder for the people in the back! -
That's definitely me as and I'm as lesbian as it comes. I usually do that to a guys I've perceived to be a jock, or a*****e. I'm a piece of crap and completely wrong for doing it (especially because I'm sure all those guys aren't bad), but guess whose got two thumbs and sleeps well at night? NICE ASS BABY!!
-
Nothing holy about it. Nothing but Sin I'd say 😂
-
I have to agree with the folks saying this probably isn't Bulimia, more like a possible butthole Dr. It's the classic move. When in doubt, blame the patient! Your Dr is trying to say nothing physically wrong with you. It's ALL in your head. Not surgery related. You are doing this to yourself. Do you really think that is true?
-
When you are a Lady, but you just love to SIN!

Warning TMI ahead! I haven't even had my surgery yet but I've been eating extremely clean for about two months now. No breads, rice or pasta. No added sugers. Meat only on the weekends. EVERY TIME I've taken a bite of something I shouldn't have *a bite of wife's crab roll last weekend, and a pulled mushroom sandwich on sourdough the week before that) I PEE FROM MY BOOTY! I can't believe my body has the nerve to dump already! Not really mad, because it was stuff I shouldn't have eaten anyway. 😝

Also think of it this way. If you don't so something (even if it turns out you can't), what's going to happen to his next patient? I know I asked my surgeon how many of his patients failed or had major complications and needed revisions. Will he tell the truth to his next patient? I know it's not your job to look out for the next person, but we all have to live on this dirt ball together! At least until WWIII anyway 😂 -
It's the info under your profile on the left she was referencing. Great job btw!

You've got me there. BUT (i'm going to pick on you OP) This person (from my crappy perceptive) allowed the original doctor to walk all over them. Very understandably common for patients. Medicine can be intimidating. So that's why I made the doormat comment. (Again sorry OP, I do truly understand) -

They also have incredible malpractice insurance for when these cases arise. Don't be a doormat. Don't turn the other cheek. You can get a lawyer as every bit as good as that doctor's. In an ideal occurrence you wouldn't even have to sue. Everything will be take care of via negations between the lawyers. Maybe you can get back any money you have to come out of pocket with for the revision. Get a good lawyer and there will be no stress on your part. Your job is to heal and get better. Your lawyer would take care of the rest. -

I'm not lawyer and sure as hell don't play one on TV but Id say it doen't hurt to look into getting a lwyer. They'll be better able to tell you if you have a case, and the inital consultation is usually free. Think of it this way. If you're mechanic fucked up your car, and didn't have the balls to even run some tests, but decided to blame you. You then find another mechanic that says "Yup, he fucked your whip up" would you seek to hold the old mechanic accountable? I know I would. -
Insurance approval after setting surgical date?
LadySin replied to jessilou1987's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I just want to teach folks how to navigate a system that doesn't necessarily strive, or go out it's way to work in their favor. ^.^ -
"I see a red door and I want it painted black" Said the Rolling Stones. One of my many Theme songs lol. I'll continue with the Black clothes. Spikes included! Love the side eye looks I get even now. I can never tell if they look because I'm fat, or because I'm an experience!

LadySin replied to UnderTheCaliSun's topic in Mini Gastric Bypass Surgery Forum
You're right BUT there isn't enough studies done on it's us for WLS. Therefore until the FDA says yup do that thang. It's still considered investigational therefore they won't cover it, so it turn, less people getting it. =\ -
Insurance approval after setting surgical date?
LadySin replied to jessilou1987's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I sooo hate to be the one to tell you (mostly because I sometimes have to tell patients this at work, though for the life of me I don't how they get my number) That date your Doctor put on the prior auth request form is just a placeholder. Doctor's can't submit paperwork without giving us (your insurance company) some idea on when you want to have it. Once your MD submits the forms your Insurance has up to 14 days from the date that is was received not the date you want to have your surgery (including weekends) to complete that requests. It's important to keep that in mind. I've had to tell so many patients that just because your Doctor says your surgery is tomorrow, we didn't get the forms until yesterday. So we've got 14 days. BUT (and this is a very big booty) YOU CAN REQUEST THE REVIEW TO BE EXPEDITED!! Your review will be completed with 72 hours!! YOU CAN EVEN REQUEST SURGERY WITHOUT YOUR MD HAVING SUBMITTED ANYTHING!! It's then my job (or rather your insurance) to reach out to your MD and get all the required forms! YES YOU CAN DO THIS YOURSELF! A well kept secret I'm sharing You just have to pretty mush say yes, to all the questions they'll ask you on why you case needs to be expedited. Let them know you're in unmanageable pain or something.
