Thanks everyone! It is a difficult road after surgery. I have had so much gas pain. They finally gave me gas-x, which has helped tremendously! Trying to do my incentive spirometer has been another challenge! Hopefully going home today!

I'm terrified, happy, nervous, scared, excited... I broke down today at work when I was leaving and everyone was telling me goodbye. I'm going to be off of work for a month. I had been doing just fine and suddenly I got hit with waterworks! I'm not a big crier, although I am emotional, so it hit me off guard. I have been really quiet since I've been home. I really have to get my stuff packed and I'm just drained mentally. I don't consider myself an anxious person. But man is it hitting me strong now!

How to get husband back on board?
jkmen5 replied to lnaj59's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
I wish I could go with u because I surely would! I hate to think of this holding you back! I agree, can you find someone else to go with? Have u expressed these concerns and issues with him regarding his feelings? Letting him know it's not about him, but that u love and appreciate his concern and protective attitude but that u NEED this? -

I would definitely talk to your doctor. At least make them aware whether it's long term or not. It could be hormones or even vitamin levels. Something that could be an easy fix or ease ur mind knowing that it's not "you", which if u were me, would be a sense of relief. It doesn't sound odd that this would happen. But it very well could be a sense of boredom, like as the other typing lady stated - food consumes(d) such a big part of our life that to not have that there anymore our hands and fingers are bored as well as our brain because we're not thinking of what we can or have next like we used to. I haven't had surgery yet, I'm getting the RNY next week. But I've often thought about how I am going to respond after surgery. Emotionally & mentally. Hope u reach out to your doc! And we're all here 4 u too!

Hey Brent! Good for you for accepting the journey! I have not had surgery yet, I'm due to have mine done on March 16th. I can't really answer some your questions from a personal standpoint (because I'm a female) but I can say- my sister had the surgery done and our family saw a MAJOR improvement in her personality. She's so much more positive and holds conversations better than before, she has so much more self confidence as well. As far as the "man hood" rumor, there are some factual explanations to this (I work in the medical field). I dated a guy where we had no problems in this area and then we broke up, but got back together a year or two later. He had picked up quite a bit of weight in the interim & when the time came he was much smaller than I recalled. I asked one of the physicians I work with about it and it was explained to me that as the additional fatty tissue is added on the male can only erect so far past that. His "man hood" is always the same length, but depending on how much tissue is there only so much can be exposed. So once those fatty layers are gone.....you do the math! Hope I have been of some help & good luck with ur journey! -

@heatherfeather81 did u get ur response?

I haven't had surgery yet so I kind of feel like I have some kind of nerve commenting. But I just had nutrition class yesterday and I am a little bit fresh on the recommendations. They did recommend that milk was a good source for protein. You can use 1% or even fat free she said. I think if the bigger concern is getting the protein in, at 3 weeks out, the sugars & fats will not be the concern because we KNOW the weight is going to drop, right? Right now the bigger concern would be keeping u hydrated & ur nutrition up. Have u tried Nectar? It blended really well when I tried it before. Or yeah, putting PB on/in some of ur fruit or celery?

Hey! I'm new to this app/site & I'm glad that your post is the first that I saw because I am too! My date is the 16th & now suddenly I am EXTREMELY nervous. I haven't really told anyone because I feel like I'm "supposed" to be excited! Which I am but I'm also so bet nervous! Point being- u are not alone!
