Single mom thinking of going to see Dr Illan
SweetPeaGracie replied to msdr1's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
I am a widow/single mom and I traveled by myself and did not tell anyone but my sister and my cousin who had the sleeve 6 months ago. Everything was fine. I paid a $500 deposit and then balance due before surgery. Down 27 lbs in 6 weeks! -

DO GASX STRIPS REALLY HELP GAS PAIN IMMEDIATELY AFTER SURGERY
SweetPeaGracie replied to pastbandedsleever's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I tried them but I don't think they helped. Most of the pain was in my left shoulder just for the one day and the next day it was fine. -
I had a small plate meal and just ate the "protein" chicken and I was good.

What to tell people?
SweetPeaGracie replied to rudge's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I just tell people I'm eating clean very little carbs and a lot of Protein. No caffeine, no Pasta, no bread, no rice. Nobody has question the fact that I lost 25 pounds in five weeks. Plus a lot of walking helps explain the weight away. -

Sleeping medicine post-op

Did you try regular Ambien or Ambien CR? -
5 weeks post op tomorrow and down 25 lbs. I will be eating lunch out with a friend of mine this week. No one knows I had the sleeve but my sister. I am worried about what to eat and will it seem weird to my friend if I eat so little? I have looked at the menu so I do have an idea of what they serve. Any advice?

What are you eating 3wk postop?
SweetPeaGracie replied to SleevedinSI's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Breakfast is eggs with cheese or high protein oatmeal. Lunch is Greek yogurt, cottage cheese or refried beans with cheese, and dinner usually chicken and maybe mashed potatoes. I have been drinking fairline chocolate milk which has 13 grams of protein. I also have string cheese for a snack 8 g of protein. I have not had any protein drinks. I can't tolerate those. I am getting in at least 75 g of protein a day eating this way. I have been taking all of my vitamins and I have lost 25 pounds in four weeks. I have BM every other day now [emoji90][emoji90] -

I usually go to goodwill or yard sales as I lose sizes. -
Have you lost any friends over wls?
SweetPeaGracie replied to Finding_Stacy's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Not yet but I am sure when my very overweight daughter sees me for the first time she will be more pist off at me then ever. She thinks having surgery is the easy way out. I beg to differ there. This has been a difficult journey but well worth it. Just wish I had done it sooner!
