I'd love to know who they are!!!
-
This is true. I've heard of women being at parties with her and of Joy being very catty. She doesn't seem like a nice woman either. In fact, most of the women who have left or been fired from the show eventually talk about how unkind the women on the show were to them. Which is part of the reason i don't watch the show. I won't give themthe ratings. Plus, sitting around listening to the cackling of these hens and their opinions on things would drive me up the wall. Women are hard on each other aren't they?? Bottom line: Mean people suck.

My dislike of Star has nothing to do with her weight loss. I have not told anyone but my family and respect her decision not to talk about it in the media. She didn't sign on to be anyone's weight loss pied piper or advocate. But then again, she DID write a book about how to get your life together and it did talk about weight loss didn't it? If your going to mentor people in weight loss issues, and enough to write it in a book, then yes, you've chosen to put yourself out there and yes, speak the whole truth then. I refuse to give her my "little people's" dollar by buying her book, but if so, methinks I smell a hypocrite. No, my dislike comes from hearing about, and knowing of many people both in the industry and the "simple man" treated badly by her. Quite simply, she is not a nice person. So, what I would say to any mean person.... buh-bye and let the door hit you on the way out!

I find Nexium is not as helpful for me as Protonix is. Perhaps switching? And yes, no matter what I take, coffee will make the acid break through no matter what.
-
Buh-bye Star. Karma for all the dead animals you wear and all the people you've been unkind to on your way up. Maybe this will be a humbling experience for her to learn the lesson of kindness and that all people are equal and worthy of respect.

Hi Becky, I don't blame you for being nervous! If you have the band taken out, will the problem go away??? Keep us updated.

Check out Robin Robertson's vegetarian cookbooks. REALLY good.

This is a big deal in the media because those in the entertainment industry have been waiting and waiting for this day to come to Star. She is one of the most disliked, hated even, people in Hollywood. I never liked her and refuse to watch her. I have heard so many stories from people who were ill treated by her. SHe is NOT a nice person. Look at what E! online says, it's tyupical of how she treated people. And she has been known to have "the little people " fired if they did not please her.: http://www.eonline.com/Gossip/Awful/Daily2006/060630.html

New Medicare Rule! Can"t Get My Fill!
NeenBand replied to NeenBand's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I called Medicare and basically, I'm out of luck. I have charity care with the hospital, but the doctor's fees are $450, I am told. I'd really rather have it done by fluroscope, and I don't even know if getting it done by a different doctor is even an option. I don't want to jeopardize my relationship with the current doctor. -
I think some of you need to chill out. This guy came in here to discuss the problem, try not to be so judgmental. ANyway, to give you advice and not to call you names, I'd like to say this is actually quite common. In fact, my counselor brought up the fact that changes in body image, and bariatric surgery will either make a strong marriage stronger, or be the flame that brings to light a marriage's weaknesses. I would defo suggest counseling. It sounds like things may have gotten stagnant in your marriage, you have grown apart on some level, lack emotional intimacy or all of the above. Also, many times when people are heavy our self esteem is in the tubes so feeling good about ourselves allows us to take steps we might not have done before, like getting out of a unfulfilling relationship. Also, when we are heavy, it can feel safe to an insecure partner, and seeing us look good and becoming more social is a threat to that. In any case, your in some dangerous waters and if you'd like to keep the relationship, seek out some help with it. Best of luck.

New Medicare Rule! Can"t Get My Fill!
NeenBand replied to NeenBand's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Well, the doctors are highly respected AND also work in a very affluent area. Plus, they do it under flouroscope, no exceptions. I'm trying to get through to Medicare to complain. -
Check out what I wrote here; http://www.lapbandtalk.com/showthread.php?t=20319 If you have Medicare and are looking for surgery or fills, you have to have it done at a rare "Center of Excellence" or they won't pay for it.

I have chest tightness caused by 3 things; Asthma, panic disorder and costocondritis.
-
I am unfilled and going for my first in 2 weeks. I am a "sweller" so I am nervous. Is it a given that you will PB with a fill?
-
Hey ladies! Sorry! I thought I updated this. Upper GI shows everything normal. so it was my stomach swelling after a near-PB experience. Your right Kathy, I am such a sweller. (it's the Fibromyalgia) I seem to be okay now. No more pain. I'm supposed to go for my first fill the second week of July and I'm not looking forward to it for obvious reasons! And thank you for the prayer. It always helps me.

Hey all, I ate too fast the other day and had this ball of "ouch" down deep in my throat, in the sternum area. It stayed there fro 30 seconds and I started to panic, felt like I couldn't breathe. Then it went down after a minute. It happened again two days later. Now, I am sore there. I have a "soreness" in the sternum area, hbetween the breasts. What the heck did I do and what should I do about it?
-
Gaynor this has happened to me recently as well, and I'm not even filled! I've been wide open for over amonth. Could eat anything I wanted. All of a sudden, I'm restricted again and I can't eat certain foods. The only thing that has changed is I started on a new medication. I had a upper GI and a scope all all is well. Weird.

I think we may be nude folks, and here is why; Just as I was starting to go out, the nurse began to move the sheet down from my boobs and then stopped to see if I was out. Also (and this is embarrassing) I had a pad on with those horrible surgical panties they give you, and when I woke up, the surgical panties were on but the pad was gone.

Hey all, I wanted to open a discussion about permanent damage done to the body after a band has eroded and then removed. I've been following threads of "The UnBanded Ones" and reading the issues, sometimes very serious ones, they have from the band. I'll be honest and say it's freaking me to know I have this object in my body that can cause me a lifetime of illness if it goes wrong. SO I wanted to discuss this as you don't really hear about it a lot. You mostly read "If something is wrong/eroded/etc it's taken out and that's it". But it seems that is not all there is!

Surgery on 6/20/06 - Gasping and fever
NeenBand replied to koko1920's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I had the same temperature for 3 days. Doctor said it was due to being dyhydrated and the body's response to pain and surgery. I had some chest issues due to the tubing and swelling. But defo call your doctor. -
Wow! Thanks so much for this!!!! We banded vegetarians are sometimes overlooked! :-)
