Reading your post, my heart really goes out to you Jonathan. You aren't by chance, the same guy who's wife posted on another forum about this very thing, are you? I remember several months back, maybe 8, a woman came on saying her husband was still in the hospitla after banding because he couldn't keep his own saliva down. I couldn't help but think. "Crap, if he had only had a different surgeon" and "Why didn't he give him something to stop vomiting," etc But it is what it is now, and I'm sorry you had this happen to you. Good luck with whatever you decide to do.

That's horrible. SOmetimes I feel like an alien because I just don't understand a human heart and mind capable of that. It's against the law to dump an animal, so if you know who did it, you can report it to your local SPCA and police. It sounds like it's someone in the area who knows you would take them in. God bless you for your kindness and compassion towards these poor dogs. "Hear and Bless thy beasts and singing birds and guard with tenderness small things that have no words."

I wonder how would a person know if they were allergic to their band? What would be going on?

Wishing you well and speedy healing! Your probably recovering as I post this.:-)

How tragic!!! :-( My heart goes out to you and your family and to that poor girl who's life ended too soon!

That's okay Terri, I appreciate your good news though! :-)

I suffer from severe GERD, but I am pre-op. I can't imagine it getting WORSE. :-o I hope yours improves as the weight goes down. Just a suggestion, you might want to switch medications. I did much better on Protonix than Prevacid. And some take it twice a day. Right now I am on precription Pepcid. The body changes and I had to switch.

Glad it all worked out and you two were able to talk. We do come from our own experiences, so I'm glad my case is not your case (yes he was a cheater too!) Inany case, sometimes these bumps make for good relationship tune-ups. :-)

I totally agree with you. Fortunetly for me, I spoke to him of it and it just came to reason that he was a selfish jerk and was not going to change. After 10 years of that I was like " let the door hit you on the ass on the way out". I find selfish people only get more so as they age, if they don't want to change. The final straw was 3 years ago when I needed 2 stamps and he wanted me to give him the money for it. His wife. (I am on disability and he made $90k a year.) I realized not only was he not going to be the man I needed, but that he was getting worse. I thought the same thing.

Why I am Doing This:Not Feeling Well

Vinesqueen, THANK YOU so much for your post. It really gives me the hope. I hate so much feeling like this and it's scary. The feeling of fear at not being able to breathe well is such a primative thing. -
Oh my gosh! I have come late to this thread and so excuse me if this has been asked and answered, but WHERE WAS HE FOR TWO HOURS??!! I find his behavior inexcusable. I had something very similar happen to me with my ex husband. Things like this are part of the reason he is an ex, it didn't get better. One Valentine's Day I planned for months. I made him leave the house with a mysterious note to be back at 4. I cleaned the house and transformed it. I had a canopy of white mesh ordered and made the bedroom into an arabian nights look, with candles and rose petals. When he came home, I was dressed in a vinatge 1940's satin dressing gown and had him get into a scented tub I had drawn for him, with a chiller of champagne on the side and candles all around. Then he got into a tux I purchased for him. I turned the walk up attic into a french bistro with candles going up to it , a menu of the special dinner of steak and lobster I cooked at the bottom of the stairs written in parchment. The attic was full of candle light and old music played on a victrola. AFter dinner I had special lingerie I purchased for this occaision and he saw the transformed bedroom. I did not receive a gift, nor did he ever reciprocate in the years ahead anything remotely special like this for me.

Why I am Doing This:Not Feeling Well

Thanks for the hug, I did need one. :-) I'm also expecting my period, and everything seems to get worse at that time, including the asthma. I've actually almost passed out, it gets so bad for me at that time of the month. My surgeon says exactly what you say, that it will help these conditions and I will see marked improvement. YAY! I just am afraid with my health issues, that the surgery itself, and the recovery will be harder on me than most bandsters. -

Hi CCB! Yes, I am scheduled for March 13th! I have been on a "last supper" spree. I would like to start losing right now just to begin to feel better but I'm a bottomless pit. -
That a GREAT doctor you have now!!! He's a keeper! I would love to know what went on that you got the refund, maybe someday he will tell you. Like Alex,I would also like to know what went wrong.

Hi everyone. I've been really unwell lately. I have some medical conditions besides the obesity and the problems with it. I have asthma, PCOS, GERD, Epstien Barr (chronic fatigue syndrome) costocondritis and Fibromyalgia. I wish I had this operation last year before I started feeling so sick. Lately, I have been so ill I am am afraid to exert myself at all because I can't breath. I'm doing this to feel well again, to hell with buying clothes (although that is an added bonus) Back in May of 1998 I had my first "asthma attack". I woke up wheezing one morning, went to the hospital, but the time I got there, I was feeling better. They figured I had it seasonally due to allergies, gave me an inhaler and that was it. I hardly used it over the years, just when I was around cigarette smoke or pollen. Fast foward a few years and now I have Fibrimyalgia which developed into something called Costocondtitis. The tissue in the ribs is inflammed which constricts the lungs. Coupled with the fact I put on quite a bit of weight, I have bad asthma now. But lately it has been worse, my chest feeling tight and coughing on a deep exhale. Especially in the mornings. I'm not sure what is going on during the night, because I wake in the mornings feeling pretty lousy. I went to the doctor the other day and she said my breath is sounding slow on the exhale and gave me Aerobid inhaler. I'm getting scared and wondering if I will be okay through the surgery.I want to get better, I don't want this! I'm hoping with the weight loss program, I'm hoping it will lessen or dissapear with the weight loss. My BMI is lower than some, but that just goes to show you how different we are. My body can't tolerate being 230lbs. Today I woke up again, feeling ill, and just got in the shower and sat there, letting it pour down on me. For some reason, that always makes me feel better.

I agree with you vlucky. The point I think most people overlook is that there can be debate without becoming insulting. And someone can give "tough love" were needed and it will come across well if it's not coming from an angry place. I think it's easy to tell the difference when someone is debating or giving tough love or just using it as an excuse to work out their own anger and issues on someone else. I think the bottom line is if your in a debate or you need to smack someone up the side of the head, do it respectfully.

Hi Doc, I don't know what's going on, posts, etc. but I would hate to see someone who has been supportive of others leave the board. I have to be brutally honest, I don't think those members who are respectful of others on a support need to "buck up" and "toughen up their skin" when having to deal with the more volatile people. I think that is bulldookie. People who consistantly argumentative should be warned and/or ousted. If this was a sports/movies/art forum people tend to be more abrasive and I'd say to you, just ignore them. But a support board needs to be kept a safe place for people to disclose inner thoughts and lean on people without fear of getting flamed. I've seen many a good forum go down in flamed because people like that run amok.

I have the same problem, and the same concern. Like you I was re-assured that if I drink the protienI'll be okay. If I don't eat something every 3 hours, I run into the problems we have all felt. I also wonder if my body will freak out at the sudden loss of food volumne.

LOL at both of you!:clap2: In my signature, I have the skit link (for those who have no idea of the gold of Bruce Dickenson and Gene Frenkel exploring the studio space.) I think some of my favorite parts of it is Jimmy Fallon in the back trying not to laugh. heheheheee -
