Thanks Jack and Mini Me. That helps. One other question, is it normal to feel pain in your stomach area (my pain is in the middle after you drink full liquids. My stomach (or whatever is in the middle) is NOT happy when I give it anything other than Water.

Going to sleep now to wake up at 4 for the surgery. Blessings to all those who will be with me tomorrow getting their too. See you on the other side of Bandlandia.
-
Thanks Magic, I appreciate your response because I'm sitting here thinking I'm a freak show or something with the hungries coming on. Dody, click on the link in my sig, it will lead you to a funny skit he did.He was a regular host on Saturday Night Live.
-
Robin, welcome home. It's terrible you went through such a hard time, but thank god your on the other side of it now and feeling better.
-
Hi Dody, Yes, that was him. There was some rumor that she and Walken were having an affair as they were filming that movie together and that caused an argument that night on the boat, which sent her into the dingy to go back to shore. I should add that I'm still on full liquids. My left shoulder has a lot of pain, and it gets worse when I have the liquids.
-
Heh, I wish you did too. Are you hungry at all? I'm craving real food already. I'm not sure if it's head hunger or what but 1/2 c of soup is not satisying me for long. How about you?

You said your exercising pretty regularly, including weights. Before I became sick and fat, I was a runner who lifted weights every other day. My body was very fit and muscular. But I weighed 160 lbs. I looked like I weighed 120, but because muscle weighs more, you look better in the mirror, your clothes fit looser, but the scale either stays the same or actually climbs. Please please, if your working with weights or exercising a lot, don't fall prey to the scale demons. Look in the mirror and notice how your clothes fit instead. It matters more anyway.

Hi Mini, I wish I had some of that. The pain is pretty intense. It gets worse after I drink any of my full liquids.
-
Congrats Gee and it's wonderful your doing so well!

Hmm...I'm confused now.The nurse said it was a 10cc band...so that would be a VG, right? And from what I'm reading, they have less complications but are harder to find "the sweet spot?"
-
Thank you! :-) Okay now here is the weird part...NOW my gas pains are coming. My left shoulder hurts soooooooo bad I'm climbing the walls. How weird is that? After 5 days, now it starts? It goes into the shoulder cap across and into and up my neck.

Itching post op, and it isn't my incisions.

AHAHAHA! That made me crack up. -
I'm so glad I found this thread. A 10cc band (I'm assuming Vanguard) found a new home in my belly on Monday. I was wondering the differences, the pros and cons, etc.

Oh my gosh! I have been looking for this link for a long time! THANK YOU! I love it so much and lost my link to it. I'm so into this stuff.

My dad told my 3 brothers and I that he was from space. That he crashed his spaceship in the woods and he fell in love with our mother and he was slowly fixing his spaceship over the years. He had us so going on that one for the longest time. He would say he was gathering parts, etc. My parents told us that cardinals (the red birds) were Santa's Birds, and that they reported to Santa, telling them all they saw. So when we see one, know that Santa is checking in on us to see if we are being good or bad. I don't have children of my own, but I tell other little kids that. When the kids get old enough to know, they always tell me they loved that story. hehehe

YAY Alex! I've been waiting to hear about how you are for days! I'm so glad it's not erosion or slippage. I'm so glad your optimistic and feel the unfill will heal your esophagus. We know our own bodies better than anyone. When it is healed up, how can you prevent this from happening again do you think?

Oh gosh, I have a barrel of them. But a few off of the top of my head are: When I was a young child. I was very afraid of the leaves in the fall. The way they would be on the ground like crabs, and move with the wind made it seem to me they were alive and chasing me. I would run into the house. For the longest time in high school, I would hear kids say they were going to the inlet that weekend (I lived in a seashore town) and watch the submarine races. I thought there were like small radio operataed submarines people raced, never knowing it was a code meaning they were going to park and make out. I belived that until my 2nd year. lol And anyone know that song by Creedence Clearwater Revival , Bad Moon Rising? It goes "Don’t go around tonight, Well, it’s bound to take your life, There’s a bad moon on the rise." I thought they said "Don’t go around tonight, Well, it’s bound to take your life, There’s a bathroom on the right" And I just found out I was singing that wrong last year.

A few of mine are "fark", "frick", "idabejeesus" and passed down from my Irish mom from her Irish mom and so on; "Jesus, Mary and Joseph!" lol

Hey Mini! Hey lady, thanks for sharing your concern and relief about the diabetes. A collective sigh of relief withthat one! I just had some cream of butternut squash Soup I got at Trader Joes and it was like heaven. Like you mentioned to me, I feel so full too, even on liquids and I do hope I'm not stretching the pouch. Alexra said no, but the Inamed brochure says yes...so..?? Yup, lost 6 lbs as of yesterday. Which portents good things because losing 6 lbs and keeping it off was damn near impossible before. So YAY. Go us! :-D

LapBand Food Stages Lists Suggestions

good list! -
I was really struck by the unkindness of your friend's remark, and that she has given you backhanded remarks about your body before. Many people hide animosity or insults in humor, thinking that is an acceptable way of getting away with it. In any case, it sounds as if your friend resents you in a "female way" and has for a while. Since you cherish your friendship, I would sit her down alone and talk to her about it. Get it out in the open so she can come clean about the jealousy and resentment she has toward you, and find out why and where it's coming from, so she can work on it and save your friendship. Let her know it hurts you and that you are noticing it, because believe me, as you lose more weight, this will get worse. I hate to say this, but I have always judged my true friends by how happy they are for me when something good happens in my life. I think true love never resents anything good for a friend. True, loyal, loving friends, life is too short to spend with anything less than that.

Just to update y'all, I'm moving about much easier and with far less pain. I took off the adhesive and now I'm just covered by the steri-strips. The incisions the surgeon made are so small! Much smaller than when I had my gallbladder out. (Go Dr. Abkin!) Exept for the port/band incision. That one is bigger. I am having some diarrhea, but they say that is normal. Good news is my fasting glucose was normal before surgery, so I am NOT diabetic. Part of the reason I had this done was to avoid that. My grandparents and my mom and dad have it. I am also having an intermittent spasm of pain under my breastbone, in the center. It comes and goes in seconds.

NeenBand replied to Parvathi's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Wow! Good for her. Can't wait to hear and see the results. -
Hey everyone! I can't believe I am banded. It's weird how you wait for something and then the day comes and then it's past you. I really have to give wach of you a huge cyber hug, you have been incredibley supportive of me and I mean it when I say I appreciate it SO VERY MUCH. Guess what? I got my period DURING surgery. I put a pad on before I went in with those horrible surgical panties they give you. Now here is the weird part...the pad was missing when I woke up. :omg:

I'm reading some of the stuff here and it's making me think if I'm doing the right thing. I read a lot of slips this month. It seems like a slip is not "if" but "when", and that freaks me out. More surgeries to have to endure. Yesterday I saw a pulmonary specialist and he said he is glad I came in about my asthma because "Monday your ass is on the line " in his words. And I just got my period. I have a really hard time with them as I am PCOS and I have two uterine fibroids. I get really weak and dizzy and a feeling of general malaise. They are really heavy, enough to make me anemic. I have to take Iron pills. SO last night I lay in bed really not in a good place:cry !!!
