LOL!!!!!! I know someone who works in the same job you do, but up her in NJ, Rahway. She said the other officers gave her a harder time than the inmates did. Physically and mentally. And rock on with your bad self for the 30 minutes, chica! -
LOL I think the same thing. Geez if anyone wants a poster girl for rough recovery, I'm available. heh

I'm so sorry! I can hear your fear in your post. I'm saying a little prayer for your quick and complete recovery. I know you'll be fine, and if your WLS is put off a few weeks, just know it will happen soon, your health and getting any risks of infection to your band taken care of is important.

Hey all, really great advice from all of you. I'm using your good counsel to get myself better and it's working. I really appreciate you taking the time to post what you have. It means a lot and you are helping me. As if that wasn't enough, I am getting acute tenderness on the lower left side of my abdomen. I have had diverticulitis before, but I can't think of anything I have done to flare it. I've just been taking in liquids. I'm hoping it is just gas or something. It hurts when I move. *sigh*

Hi all, I'm 6 days post op. Having left shoulder pain, but more so pain in my stomach, in the center. I have to be honest, this pain in the center of my abdomen is begining to worry me. I have gastritis, and it feels like when I eat something that flares it. Only I'm not eating anything, but it's flaring 24/7. Being on the boards I have read posts of people who had pain upon being banded and it never went away. I did a search and don't see it as a common post op pain. I can't live with this pain, it's a gnawing pain that you can't really function with. I hope it goes away.:phanvan

Surgery Tuesday and having some Morbid thoughts.....
NeenBand replied to jtrek's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Your as scared as I was, believe me (read my blog...hehehe) . When they gave me those forms and asked those questions, it was on the morning of my surgery and it made my fear even worse. But they ask that of anyone undergoing a procedure. -
How do you tell the difference?? Because let's face it, if I was good at that I wouldn't be fat. I'm 6 days post op and starting to crave food. Also, 1/2 cup of creamed Soup is not holding me for long. I'm not sure what to be expecting at this point.

Hey all, Feeling better, but still having discomfort in my stomach. It really hates anything other than Water. Today's hurdle will be (agaian) getting the Prilosec down without that pain. Yesterday my boyfriend was here, but today I am alone. I'm supposed to be on full liquids now, which per my surgeon's instructions is protien drinks. I am drinking a powdered soy in milk. But if you gals honestly think I should do clears, I will. I have a clear protien drink. The only thing is, I can see myself being swollen for a while, and I have to get to full liquids at some point, right? I am also wondering if it's okay to start drinking metamusil? I can feel my bowels hurting from lack of Fiber.

++got the band, and still gaining weight ++++

Magic, please forgive that I will sound blunt here, but I don't mean it that way, I feel bad that the food demons are not being tamed with your band. Mine are because I'm swollen from surgery, but I'm sure it will be a struggle in a few weeks. But, only month out I would not be allowed to eat food like that per my surgeon's instructions. You should still be on soft foods. Did your doctor not give you instructions like that? Did he/she say you could eat such foods? And if he didn't, shame on him, but if he did, I guess the question would be why your not following the instructions? -
That's good to hear. I'm a guzzler too, which is what got me in trouble. I thought I was sipping compared to my usual gulps.

Ha! Mini Me, I've been looking out the window of this beautiful day. I'm entering online sweepstakes as we speak. LOL -
*hugs* Thanks Mini Me Hi Kathy! I'm doing much better now. I have to take the smallest of sips and the Prilosec helped. I'm a little worried how I will get all the Fluid requirments in at that rate. I hope I have not damaged anything in there. When they say small sips, they mean SMALL SIPS. I thought I was sipping small.

Fish-oil supplements for LapBanders?
NeenBand replied to rajgrover's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Yes, I think it does. And flax oil comes in liquid form too. Udo's is a good one. -
Just called and the surgeon on call said he thinks it's my pouched being distended by too big sips. So I will try taking tiny sips and see if that helps.
-
Oh my god, I took the Prevacid and I'm in such pain. It's so bad I'm crying. I don't know what to do . Help!
-
I just got off the phone with his associate on call, and he said I was supposed to be on OTC Prilosec, and I said I was not told that. Luckily, I have some in the house. He said it is either the esophagus or gastritis. He also said this is a new way of my body functioning and I have to find a new normal, that I won't feel like I used to and it is a work in progress. I really hope this is not the new normal for me. I can't function with this level of constant pain. So I am looking at the Prilosec and wondering if it will go down?? It's not huge, but it's not small. You know what? This just plain sucks right now.

Yup, I am having that too. I have no idea if and when it will calm down. LOL

Fish-oil supplements for LapBanders?
NeenBand replied to rajgrover's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Good question, I was wonderig the same thing. They also help with inflammation in the body, so people with Fibromyalgia, arthritis and other auto immune diseases benifit from them. I don't know how to get them in though, because they are huge. Perhaps there is a subsitute oil, like promrose or something that would give the same benefits? -
Hi all, thanks for posting! I had GERD before my surgery, so I have always been on prescription strength Prevacid, and still am. I have been taking liquid Mylanta since last night, we will see how that goes. I can tell you one thing, my stomach is not liking the Protein drinks either. I've probably had about 3 different kinds this week and none of them are hitting it gently. It "feels" swollen, if that makes any sense. Like I can feel it being squeezed. And I'm still having intermittent spasm of pain that come and go. I've had those since I woke up out of the OR. I'm HOPING it's just swollen still and that I'm not having a problem so soon. :-( Alexra, glad to know I can call anytime, I didn't want to bother anyone on a Sunday.

How hard this must be on you and poor Emily. Wishing her complete and quick recovery and the perfect medicines be given her for perfect health.

Thanks Jack. Okay, I'll try the smaller sips and see if that decreases the discomfort.
