LOL Thanks all. Your much easier on me then I am on myself. Photonut..I know. Slap me. After al I have been through. Just goes to show how messed up food is in my life. No, I haven't had a fill yet. In fact, today was my first day of solids. Is it normal to have it feel a little weird when you first eat solids? What I mean is, I do feel more full than with mushies, thank heavens, but it almost feels like food is stuck in there, like I ate a brick and it's laying in the tippy top of my stomach.

I sure did. What an emotional response THAT was! Yes, he gets home at 5:30. I better get another. I feel awful about myself. I mean, I had major surgery to lose weight...what am I doing??!!

Hey all you old school Bandlarians, I'm one month out now. I can eat one cup of food at a sitting. Comfortably. Not feeling "stuffed". Is this normal?

Band Veterans: 1 Cup of Food Too Much?
NeenBand replied to NeenBand's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Thanks all. :-) I was thinking that too, that I have come a long way! The truth is, I'm still hungry. So I guess I will be needed a first fill after all MyBestMe. I've put on a pound and a half this week because I'm eating more freuqently. I'm hungry now and the one cup isn't doing it anymore. I don't want to gain the weight I lost back! I've been on soft foods and today is the day i can start on solids if I want. I am wondering if that will help? -

NeenBand replied to NeenBand's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Next time I have to take one, I will make sure to drink tons of Water. How cute! And tell Tyler this pirate says he likes him back. Yaarrgg!! -
Hello all, I've been fighting one of my hormone headaches since waking. I used to take Aleve for them, but since banded I know thats a no-no/ The Tylenol just isn't cutting it. Would takign an ALeve be such a bad thing? Ugh.....

Coolations. I'm glad I'm normal. (sort of) lol Thanks for your answers. And thank you Lianna. So am I! Whew! -
As a vegetarian, I eat a high amount of carbs and am losing weight. It's not the carbs that made me fat, but the fact that I ate enough to feed a football team. I was on Atkins for 2 years once and developed diverticulitis from it. I also could not sustain that way of eating and as soon as I ate carbs, I never saw weight pour back on so fast. WOW. In all my dieting years, I never had such a rebound and then some than I did from that diet. But there again, I didn't lose weight because I ate too much on that too. :nervous

HUGE Headache: Need more than Tylenol
NeenBand replied to NeenBand's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Ahhhhhhhhh the sweet bliss of relief. I called the surgeon and they said go take your Aleve, but don't make it a habit. 20 minutes later I was able to function again. Thank you all for responding!! -
HUGE Headache: Need more than Tylenol

Thanks all. SOmeone said it would harm the band, and it says no NAISDS in the instructions. Penni, that works the best for me too. IRT K@T: Thankee -
Hi All, Yesterday I picked up a 23 lbs thing of kitty litter and last night and today my port area is bothering me. Especailly during the night. I had to get up and take some tylenol. I was told by the nurse releasing me at the hospital not to lift more than 20 lbs for 2 weeks, which I didn't. I was banded on March 13th. Now I'm worried I may have done something to it. I'm also supposed to massage my mom tonight (I am a certified therapist) and wondering if I should even do that.

Yes, Rescue Remedy in a pinch, but I have found the best essences for animals from Green Hope Farm. http://www.greenhopeessences.com/
-
lol itelntx, you "got it". To thebestme and yourself, yes, I am sleeping on it . I'm a left side/belly sleeper and always wind up there. I had no idea the port would be so "sensitive". This is forever sensitive, isn't it?

Is a link to your website in your sig considered advertising? I have not done it, but I have a website that I sell my art on. I've thought of putting it in my sig, but would that be considered inappropiate advertising?
-
It's not easy. I don't always hit my mark. Especially since the protien drinks flare up my IBS.
-
Okay, just a question/observation. My port has more discomfort at night and in the morning. It keeps me in a light sleep. As I move around and the day goes on it feels much better. Anyone? Anyone? Bueller? Bueller?

I have PCOS and although the weight is moving off, I can gain it back quickly, just like before. So vigilance is key.

2nd Day Post-Op and Needing Advise
NeenBand replied to KINGSKID66's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I can relate to your discomfort. What everyone said here, rest and walk, and drink plenty of fluids. Heating pad and Tylenol. Believe itor not, it slowly gets better. -
Tricia, I am thank you so much. *hugs* Like babs suggest it may be the protien drinks. Everytime I try to drink either Isopure, unjury or anything, I get gas and left shoulder pain.
-
p.s. Will Inamed be paying for it all since it is defective?
-
Trish, your taking a frusterating situation and making it a positive. Alll the best for a new lease on life with a new band.

Awwwwwwwww.. How poignant and sad is that? Rocky seems like he was meant for you. I work a lot with animals in therapy and they do mourn. I had a beautiful grey tabby named Daisy. My black cat Sam loved Daisy and looked up to him (Daisy was a "him") and they were buds. When Daisy died at 8 years old of kidney failure, Sam roamed the house for weeks, looking in Daisy's usual spots for him inside and out. Looking at me and crying as if to say "Where is Daisy?" Sam became so depressed I had to start giving him Rescue Remedy and it lasted for months. Sam has not bonded with another cat since, and I have 4 others.

I was going to make corn chowder tonight and take my portion and put it in the food processor. Is it still a no-no even doing it that way?

My sister had a Down Syndrome baby
NeenBand replied to Chicagoboy's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
What a beautiful baby. I have heard many times from parents of DS children that they are a blessings. So loving and joyful. I hope it is that for your sister too.
