NeenBand replied to Cheri's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Jeebus, your title scared me. -
Here is a SNL skit so funny because the actors can't stop laughing. Cut and paste it into your browser to work [ame=http://youtube.com/watch?v=VTHcRnq3gsU]http://youtube.com/watch?v=VTHcRnq3gsU[/ame]

Keep pictures of these precious little ones coming! I'm afraid to ask...but what will you do with them?
-
WOW!! If it wasn't so funny, it would be scary. My best friend went on them and they totally changed her personality. She also looked really bad and became dependant on them. Too bad those of us (including me ) can't find safe alternatives.
-
Oh my god, that is the sweetest thing I have seen in a while!! They are so precious. I had a little brown dwarf bunny named Fluffanutter. He was a great rabbit.
-
I've always been interested in belly dancing and love to watch them. I had a troupe of belly dancers at my wedding, which was Renn themed at the cocktail hour. They even danced with swords on their heads. Nice picture Vines, your a beautiful woman.

That was very insensitive and arrogant of that woman. I think some people like to hear themselves talk and make themselves feel important at the expense of others to do it.

First Day of Solids. What is Normal?
NeenBand replied to NeenBand's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Softer solids you suggest? Anything come to mind as a suggestion? Yes, the hot tea helped. Feels much better now. So is this the way the band reacts in the first stages of solids? Will it get in a better temper at some point? -
First day of solids for me. I haven't had a fill yet. Is it normal to have it feel a little weird when you first eat solids? What I mean is, I do feel more full than with mushies, thank heavens, because I was getting hungry, but it almost feels like food is stuck in there, like I ate a brick and it's laying in the tippy top of my stomach. It was my first dinner of solid food that feels stuck. I had "fake pork ribs" It's vegetarian soy BBQ pork. Or is it normal to have this reaction, some irritation, your first day? <!-- / message --><!-- sig -->

First Day of Solids. What is Normal?
NeenBand replied to NeenBand's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
After dinner report.:hungry: I ate about 1/4 cup of food. It was "fake ground beef" vegatarian and a few pieces of fake sausage. Chew chew chew tiny pieces. Although nothing feels stuck, my belly is NOT happy. I have a band of discomfort that wraps around my midback. What do you think? Normal for first solids? -

I may have eaten too fast. I have only had mashed potato today. Think I'll try some vegetarian sausage tonight and see how it goes. Slowly this time... -
Does anyone feel hungry after you eat?
NeenBand replied to April10's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I do. ANd as soon as I did (yesterday) solids with protien (soy protien as I am a vegetarian) I found myself not as hungry as I was on mushies and soft foods. But yes, i was hungry an hour after eating. -

AH okay. I wan't sure if I irritated the puch because it's not ready or if this is just what it feels like when first re-introduced to solids. -
Hi all, I had to post this. I have been actively trying to stop this hunt for 2 years now. What is even more shocking is how badly global warming has melted and effected the ice for seals, polar bears, etc. I don't think people realize how bad the warming is. If they did, I think they would stop buying the SUV's. The senseless slaughter of 230,000 seal pups began this week off the coast of Newfoundland. This second phase of Canada's annual commercial seal hunt takes place off the remote Front of Newfoundland and Labrador, its cruelty usually safely out of sight from the rest of the world. A competitive, reckless environment known to be extremely difficult to regulate and monitor by government authorities. But where have all the seals gone? The location of the sealing has moved much further north due to the drifting ice. On our first day of observation we saw 10-12 sealing ships attempting to navigate through the broken chunks of floating ice, trying to find seals to hunt. Climate change is affecting the ice that harp seals depend on for breeding, nursing and resting. It is unclear if the terrible ice conditions have already taken most of the young seals, or whether the seals are simply too spread out for sealers to find. Either way, it's not possible under these conditions for the government to accurately assess the current seal population or the true impact of the hunt. To slaughter over 300,000 seals in the face of uncertain ice conditions that may continue for the foreseeable future is beyond irresponsible. Already, the first phase of the seal hunt in the Gulf of St. Lawrence took more than 16,000 seals over their quota for this year. Guns or clubs: the suffering remains the same Rifles are used to kill 90% of the seals on the Front, yet the cruelty continues. Seals are shot, taken onto the boats, skinned, and then tossed back into the ocean. We have already documented several cases of seals being shot, wounded, and then lost under the ice. We caught one poor seal on film that slipped into the Water after it was shot, struggled to stay afloat, and then finally disappeared under the ocean. You can see the latest hunt video diaries and audio podcasts here ( http://www.kintera.org/TR.asp?ID=M715833104642643326622665 ). Five ways you can help stop the seal hunt It's not too late to speak out now and add your voice to the growing international pressure against the seal hunt. It's easy for you to make a real difference: simply visit the Seal Action Center ( http://www.kintera.org/TR.asp?ID=M715833114642643326622665 ) for five different ways to help.

SO true. If you feel like it, please sign the petition and use the very easy "click and send" mesage to the Prime Minister in Canada. Every little bit helps. Your voice does count.

Yes, I can actually see it in NJ too. It's not "If" it's NOW. It's frightening no one cares in the USA, people just consuming, buying the huge cars, the gov't ignoring it. Frightening. I heard a scientist on NPR say the other day it's so bad that even if we were to do something today, it's so bad there is no chance for the polar bears.

First Day of Solids. What is Normal?
NeenBand replied to NeenBand's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Hi ladies! I did a search while up, and layed down on all fours like a dog, then jumped up and down. (5:00 am) lol I went back to bed with a heating pad, took a swig of MYBESTME's remedy Aloe juice, and I guess it went down during the sleep. I woke up losing a lb. because the solid food really did keep me fuller, longer. SO you think mushies for a few more days? -

I am loving all the pictures and animal stories. People that say animals have no souls I look at like they are from another planet, because those of us who have experienced the unconditional love of an animal, or observe the wild things know they are great teachers of the basic tenants of loyalty, forgiveness, love. Something we as humans have yet to get right. The Peace of Wild Things When despair for the world grows in me and I wake in the night at the least sound in fear of what my life and my children's lives may be, I go and lie down where the wood drake rests in his beauty on the Water, and the great heron feeds. I come into the peace of wild things who do not tax their lives with forethought of grief. I come into the presence of still water. And I feel above me the day-blind stars waiting with their light. For a time I rest in the grace of the world, and am free. — Wendell berry

First Day of Solids. What is Normal?
NeenBand replied to NeenBand's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
It's 5 am and I got up because the food is still in my pouch and I'm in pain. I can drink fine, but everything feels "stopped up". I'm also getting a reffering pain on my right , towards my back (by my armpit) Help! What if the food doesn't move??! It's been 12 hours and the pain in my back and the discomfort in my band area is increasing.:omg: -
:Banane04: :help: I just got back from HR Block and was upset. The first time I ever went o one. They managed to get my tax owed down to $175, but it cost me $200 for them to do it. I walked into the house and ate a 4 oz solid chocolate easter bunny I got for my boyfriend. That's like 800 calories!! :think

I think it's great you put this up, although I could not watch it when he came at you with that needle! lol

ROFL No, the bunny went down fine...(figures) It was my first dinner of solid food that feels stuck. I had "fake pork ribs" It's vegetarian soy BBQ pork. Maybe I should make a thread...:-p
