Suffering from Bile Reflux after MGB
Deactivatedfatgal replied to mmy's topic in Mini Gastric Bypass Surgery Forum
There was another individual who had this done & couldn't stop losing weight. She was searching desperately for surgeon to revise procedure but nobody wanted to do it as it isn't common in us I believe. I'm glad you have a dr working with you. -
Long term vsg implications
Deactivatedfatgal replied to Deactivatedfatgal's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Yes but one thing that is obvious is the gerd! I believe th vsg is going on 11 years old. I just hope it doesn't turn out being like the lapband as far as complications down the road -

Good question, going to my pcp abt this Friday as I have full blown panic attack now & am spiraling out of control. Never had these issue before unless they were dormet.
-
I have missed over 4 appts in the last 1 month. Anxiety through the roof, panic attacks, I am ****** struggling. Oh & my thumb is infected from pulling hang nails.
-
I'm sorry this is happening to you. I too have anxiety and he can be so frustrating. I will keep you in my thoughts for a quick recovery so that you can make it to your appointments.
-
Thank you for your kind words and empathy. I missed appts because of dr calling out and today the dr refuse to see me because I was 5 min late due to me going to wrong location. I had full panic attack in parking lot. I needed that appt to discuss my hypochondria and fear since surgery. I am missing work & dropped out of summer school. I was fine until about 3 weeks ago.

If any of you could have had the sleeve done in your 20's would you?
Deactivatedfatgal replied to rachel_babe's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I wish I knew someone who is going through this that's my area. I need to go to support group. My mom is 10 years out RNY and doing great, that encouraged me to take a leap of faith. -
Does anyone know any data on this? I'm a big YouTube wls follower & I have seen a few ladies need revisions because of partial digestion? Like their sleeve stopped passing food through properly or something.

Partial digestion
Deactivatedfatgal replied to Deactivatedfatgal's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I hope you find resolve with your issues. Sorry to hear your struggles. I researched or so I thought I did and had never heard of stuff like this until I was post op & following others journeys. One thing I see that's constant is that RNY is the only option for lots of these digestive issues. -

How do you view overweight people now that your thin?
Deactivatedfatgal replied to doxaholic's topic in The Lounge
While that may be the case for you, that was not the case for me. I've actually been a bit down and blue since my surgery, whereas before I was running around talking to anyone who would listen. I always smiled and was just a happy heavy person. -
Help needed with decision RNY or Sleeve
Deactivatedfatgal replied to Terri70's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Statistically, less complications with VSG vs RNY. Gerd is the biggest concern for VSG and can lead to needing a revision. RNY has the malabsorption aspect as well as other possible risks. I am not against either, I chose VSG because imo it was best for ME. If I need to revise in the future (a percentage of wls patients end up with a revision) than so be it! Even RNY patients get revised sometimes, so there really is no right or wrong, just pick best for you & health. My mother had RNY 10 almost 11 years ago & is doing well! -

I fainted at a concert last night
Deactivatedfatgal replied to sarajeano's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
That is so scary! Idk....I read about a ytber fainting who is on keto & she said she's five years out. It could be a number of things thwt caused this...she said she went to the dr and everything was fine. She thinks her potassium was low. Hope you don't have to go through this again! -
This is the hardest thing I've EVER done! I wish people who felt it was easy way out would do it themselves. This is literally like being reborn and starting over, accept you have memories of your prior eating habits & etc. we are pioneers for this life saving procedure & im content. Our stomachs naturally was the size of a fist but people stretched out their stomachs overtime. If you look at what a normal meal looks like we see we were eating horribly wrong. I couldn't have done it without this tool. I want to eat small portions for the rest of my life.
