I could sleep on my left side about 2 days ago, my right is still a wee tender, but I'm off the meds....and seemed to slide from pain to hurt/uncomfortable today. I turned a corner! I have a class this week to talk about stage 3/4 foods next. Pureed foods, here I come! By the way, the multi-vitamins...blech/taste wise, but I coat my tongue in yogurt first to dull the taste. It's fine. They'll help keep me healthy, so I'll deal until I use these up and try a different flavor.

Post your progress pics!
crocodoxie replied to Cali_love89's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Everybody looks amazing. I'm 5 days out from surgery, and can't wait until I have my own progress pics to share! Thx for sharing...they really do inspire. -
Surgery went well. I got to add a bit of greek yogurt today, which was wonderful! I'm uploading another video, but I'm not sure how often I'll do them. I feel funny. I guess I'll get used to it. How are you making out? Added my chewable calcium today. Will take my vitamins tonight with my 6:00 meal. Didn't want to do them on an empty stomach, so shifted the times. I'm using Celebrate vitamins. The orange calcium isn't too bad...crossing my fingers I can tolerate the multi's tonight!

Hope things are going smoothly for you. I had mine on Tuesday. Each day is a bit easier. Grateful for that.

Also, forgot to post this. I'm a little shy about it, but trying to do some videos, etc...to help others, since I watched so many during my 6 months pre-op.

I've gagged the crushed pills down with a spoon of jell-o or something and chased with a drink. Boom, glad to hear things went well for you.

They let me come home a day early (gastric bypass), since I was able to move around, etc...Part of me thought I should stay, afraid to walk away from the fluids and pain meds, but I've been through surgery before, and know it's a matter of time to heal.It was my choice to stay or go....i decided it was as good a time as any. I slept in my bed half the night, recliner part of the night, then back to bed. Getting fluids down without a problem at this point, so sip, sip, sipping my protein shakes (syntrax nectar). Moving about slowly. Will check in in a couple of days when I'm feeling better.

I wrote a note to myself and slapped it on my desk. "BUYERS REMORSE UNTIL ABOUT SOLIDS" -- Hang in there! A reminder that it will pass, and it's a normal experience. I think seeing the daily reminder will help. Good luck! Yes, I just started something there, too (YT)..will check it out when I get home. Heading out in fifteen mins.

Surgery is tomorrow morning! I'm so excited. I've been through a lot of surgeries, so I'm not nervous on that front. I'm more curious to what it will feel like to try to take a sip of water, eat something, etc...and adjust to the changes. I hope everything goes smoothly for everybody! I'll check in later this week. I'm not a big phone user. I have one, but I'm horrible with using it most the time. I'm more prone to my iPad, or more comfortable at my desk.

Tell me your Gallbladder Story...
crocodoxie replied to Ldyvenus's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
This was eons ago. I'm 50. My first son was 5 weeks old, and I needed emergency surgery. All I know is the pain, holy moly...the attacks were intense. After healing from the surgery, it was fine. After surgery: processing fats...not everybody gets this, but certain foods have me running for the bathroom, even 27 years later. Otherwise, all that's left is the memory and a scar. I can't imagine choosing to keep it if it continues to cause pain. -
Best flavorless protein powder?
crocodoxie replied to ebroms17's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Unflavored protein....Some people like Unjury. I like Syntrax Nectar's Unflavored. I'm sure there are many others. They're the two I'm aware of off the top of my head. -

Grocery list: essentials for pre-op liquid diet?
crocodoxie replied to RedOrangeSunrise's topic in Pre-op Diets and Questions
I like Syntrax Nectar for my protein shakes. I've tried many, that's the one that worked for my taste preferences. I have Crystal Sky, and I've also ordered the unflavored (which I've had a sample of before) to add to stuff. -
Help! I need to lose 8 more pounds fast to meet insurance requirement!
crocodoxie replied to Ready4theday's topic in Insurance & Financing
I'm on the two week pre-op...with my doctor's office, I had one of two choices. I went with protein shakes/fruit (1/4 cup)/veg (2 cup/non-starchy with dinner)....so shake/fruit...shake/fruit...shake/fruit....shake/veg --- EVERY doc's office is different. I can only tell you about mine. It's shaving weight off quickly. But honestly, i'd talk to them and ask them what they feel would be your best alternative. Worst case scenario, it's pushed back a small amount of time, but you remain healthy in the process. Cheers! -
Thoughts running through my mind, two weeks to surgery
crocodoxie replied to focusonthefuture's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Hope everything is going well for you! -
Focusing on a short period of time. That's what got me. I had 6 months of appts. The first three months, I was slamming it, doing great, losing...then the "drive" wore down, and as I got closer to surgery (next week), I also got lazy about continuing to write things down. Seriously, i hit a 70 day stride in MyFitnessPal, then went MIA... I have some invisible clock in my head that seems to go about 3 months strong --- so that will be my challenge, to keep going, but hopefully seeing results will make it worth while. I'm back on track now and losing again, whee. I wanted to welcome you and wish you luck on your journey. My insurance required 6 months, and while it felt like a long time at first, I was grateful, because it allowed me to make important changes. Hope you'r journey is absolutely top-notch awesome.

So thrilled to see/hear the good news. You're looking fabulous. Congrats on the hard work.

From what I've read and was told, room temperature might make it easier to get down. Not everybody does this, but they said the cold sometimes causing cramping. Hopefully, somebody with experience will chime in for you. You had major surgery, it's okay to feel blah. It only gets better from here.

Scared as hell of weight loss
crocodoxie replied to KamalSalem's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
You are who you are inside. You'll still have hopes, fears, dreams...but your body will get to a healthier place so that you can enjoy life in a new, healthier way. Hang in there. Maybe you'll find the emotional change to be healing. I have Diabetes...it sucks, it's expensive, and I'm doing what i can to stop it in its tracks. Take a deep breath and know that your combined experiences will only make you a stronger person. You're not going to stop laughing if you love to laugh. Find ways to embrace the change.
