WLS with Fibromyalgia and Arthritis of Unknown Origin

I have Fibro and Lyrica has been massively helpful for me. I'm having a bypass later in the summer. I'm hoping I can still take my meds for it. Does anyone have trouble with it post-surgery? I'll ask my rheum. also on my next visit. We've agreed that weight loss will be highly beneficial for my joints/tenderness regardless. My bigger issue with my Fibro is that I get these electric zappy shocks all over (like a neuropathy of sort...I've had shingles 3 times, feels like that kind of zapping)...and the Lyrica has been huge it stopping the pain. Dealing with the zapping is rough! So happy my meds work, but will I still be able to take it? It was like magic to finally get relief. Thank you for any shared experiences. -
Haaa, me too, 50 in a few months, surgery for end of the summer.

Looking for starters of the process sugary likely fall 2017

I started in Feb and am looking at about August for surgery. Cheering you both on. I am logging food and watching my steps (will increase each month) The logging is helping me pay attention to what I'm doing/need to get better with. I'm feeling "in the zone" right now, and was able to show a loss on my visit this week. I'm trying to get my head together prior to surgery, and taking baby steps each week/month so I don't feel overwhelmed when it's time to make a dramatic change. Kicking my Diet Coke was the first step. It was the thing that had the biggest grip on me. It's gone! -

Thank you so much for sharing. I'm visual, so seeing pictures really clicks with me. What a beautiful girl you are, both before and after. Fifty with two kids, I expect my breasts will be raisins, haa. Thanks again, your post is a perfect motivator. -
I have not gone through surgery yet. So I don't know what you can and can't have for that aspect. I have run 3 half marathons though weighing over 200 pounds. For fuel, I used shot blocks (they are gummies) and Gu. Otherwise, before a run, I'd have a few extra carbs like a piece of toast. Some people make a trail mix. Running boards have great information for fueling choices. I also found instead of water, I'd mix half G2 with water. That was a big help. Good luck! When I find my motivation to do endurance again, I'd like to complete one more, just to remind myself what I'm capable of. Running taught me perseverance like nothing else in my life.

Spoke with the therapist for a little over an hour. Filled out a small questionnaire or two...total, maybe 50-100 questions (did this prior from a packet I got from my Dr's office as a reference guide). Agree/Disagree type. It was mostly an interview about family support, my relationship with food, stressors, etc.
