Wow, great article. Surgery was preformed on Friday. Stomach would allow food to digest all day Friday and most of Saturday. Dr. Took me back to ice chips only Saturday afternoon. By 8:00 pm Saturday I felt loads better. Came home Sunday. Stomach very sore today but feeling better .

The night before the by pass. Feeling good and very ready to start anew. Surgery at 0800 Friday morning, 1.5 hours left to drink Water. The liquid diet diet was much easier after day two. First two days were pretty rough for a fat guy. At my PreOp appointment I had many more questions then the initial visit. No catheter was welcomed news. I will try to post tomorrow evening about post op feeling.

Thanks for the link. I will look at it. The doctor I choose was referred by two friends, so I am trusting their recommendations. Supposedly great post op support. Glad to have found this page though

Employer BCBS doesn't cover bariatric surgery

Some states the insurance company's are not allowed to exclude the surgery. Texas allows the exclusions. I had to pay over $14,000 -
Looking for some reassurances here. Lol Fought weight issues all adult life. Friend and I have talked about WLS for years. Thursday Feb. 23rd we went to a doctor who does WLS. I did like what the doctor had to say and decided to go ahead with the gastric bypass surgery. Insurance has an exclusion for morbid obesity surgeries so I am a self pay client. Due to work schedule I called on Friday Feb. 24th and asked if I could have surgery by March 3rd. I went that afternoon and had my mental exam and a stress test. Surgery is a go for Friday March 3rd. I have started my liquid preop diet and getting prepared mentally. Couple questions I have, has anyone else had surgery 8 days after deciding to have it, and how long will it be before I will safely ride my motorcycle after surgery?
