Fainted on MJ edibles (in a bad place!)

I get a do-over tomorrow night (another reggae show) but I think I'll be skipping any form of altered state and sticking to my usual water (just in case). I'd like to remember everything this go-round. Lol. Haven't touched anything since.
  2. Went to a reggae show last night [full disclosure : did have an edible] and neglected the hydration. Didn't realize I was only at about 15ozs for the day til it was too late. Was feelin alright (irie, if you will) and next thing you know... I'm lookin at feet. Fainted at the front of the crowd of 2000 people luckily with my wife guiding me to the floor. She got me up and we started heading for the outside... to the floor again. 4 times total I woke up looking up to concerned faces. This hasn't happened to me before although I do get dizzy daily when going from a squatting to standing position (as part of my job). I've had to stop and lean to clear out the webs, but never was it out of my control like last night. Has anyone else had this from MJ edibles? Or do you think it was solely the dehydration?? It was my 2nd edible since VSG. I no longer drink so this was my last hope for an occasional chill time.
  3. I'm at goal with loose skin and all and we have a great time in the life. Honestly, I don't like to shed the shirt (usually keep a compression shirt on) and literally have no butt (like rocks in a balloon!) but most people don't judge and we've had a blast since the lbs started dropping. Much more attention! We're on SLS mainly... best site out there. ... to think I ran across this looking for weed related posts for some reason. I'm really in the expresslane to hell!!
  4. (well, almost) Today I hit 179.6 in the scale... that's .4lbs from normal BMI for 5'11" (and I'm really a smidge over 5'11" so I'm giving myself the .4) Was told it would probably take 1-1.5 years from surgery to get there, but it's only been just under 8 months. Checked with my Nut to make sure I wasn't overdoing it and she wasn't worried and said I was doing great. Started this journey about a year ago at just over 285... couldn't be happier! (that arm candy next to me is my ultra supportive, beautiful wife of 19 years who has also reaped the benefits from the nutritional education and new habits)

    255 Starting Weight ?

Yessir! It's not extreme, but I have a nice bit of a belly flap and my arms and legs are kinda hangin loose. I really should be hitting the gym a bit more... ahem or period... been sticking mainly to staying active and not eating junk. I think it's slightly tone-able but it'll probably be a few years before it snaps back (if it snaps back). Sure, we're starting at a lower weight... but it's still gonna be about 100lbs+ down. That's no joke!! There was a lot of stuff in there. Lol. Best way to hide it... compression shirts. They rock!!
  6. Does anyone have good lunch ideas for someone who works outside?? I need something that will survive about 4hours in a cooler with cold packs. I go back to work tomorrow and I'm stressing out over what to pack/eat!

    HEYLP! Blue collar lunch?!

YES!! Thanks. Just picked up some Starkist. Also some stuff to make turkey salads. My VSG date was 7/11(almost 5 weeks) and I'm on solids (no red meat/pork yet) and I'm doing great but I've had the luxury of a microwave and fridge at home. Tomorrow I'm back to the grind (although I'll probably spend the day in retraining at my garage). Got a nice big 36oz RTIC bottle and a case or Propel to keep me liquefied.
  8. Sleeved on 7/11, home 7/13. Didn't really sleep much last night due to back sleeping all night (another topic) but when I decided to get out of bed and walk to the bathroom, my legs felt like I was recovering from a 50mile hike. I know I'm currently slightly hunched over due to the abdominal tightness which has me walking different, but has anyone else experienced this and what did you do to remedy the situation?? I figure it's either fatigue from being in a bed most/all week OR it was because I was walking through all the cute nurse's minds in the hospital! (lol... jk)

    Sore legs post-op

No swelling at all. Keeping mobile and walking a lot. I'm hoping it's just from not using them for the last few days other than for strolls around the hospital with my IV pole. Now that I'm home, I've been sure to walk for 5-10 minutes every hour to keep the blood pumping.

    Can't sleep comfortably!

Going through this now. Surgery was Tuesday, 1st night home was last night. Had to sleep on my back and now my back is SORE! I'm a side sleeper as well. Gonna try wedging myself at an angle tonight on the sofa.
  11. I'm pre-op for RNY (hopefully in about 2/3 months). Started at 285lbs/5'11" with a BMI over 39. Similar story... I've always been able to hide it well (been hiding it all my life). I've always been a 'bigger guy' since I was about 13. Of course, I'm getting the "you don't need surgery" from a few people but most are very supportive. I was worried my folks wouldn't be on my side but they are behind me every step of the way. My knees are tired of carrying this weight and are begging me to lighten the load (and I climb utility poles for a living so those poles are begging me, too). I'm currently down 22.8 lbs thanks to the great dietary guidance my program is offering. I qualify thanks to apnea (in the extreme-severe range) and I can not wait to be rid of it and that damned CPAP!!! Congrats on your sleeve! Can't wait to be on that side of the surgery table.
  12. Rollercoasters. I took my kids (loose term, 15 & 16.5 both 6'1") to Universal last year and had to have the ride attendants squeeze, cram, and stuff me into a few rides. I fit (so I sit) but it was very uncomfortable and there were a few that I just couldn't ride. I've always been a 'larger' guy but that definition has been stretching over the years. There are MANY things I want to be able to do, but those rollercoasters sealed the deal. I wrote out a list of things I want to do when I made this decision. Things like ride rollercoasters, fit in the band's t-shirts when we go to concerts, wear pants from the 'regular' section, not hide in photos, get off CPAP, be able to hike a trail without knee pain, get out and enjoy life, and live a little longer for my wife and boys. I just started this journey and have my surgeon meeting March 15th. I am nervous as hell but I can not wait to get started!

    255 Starting Weight ?

43, 5'11, and 275ish (BMI 38+) w/extreme severe apnea. Insurance is a go, 1st meeting w/surgeon is Mar15th to start my plan, then it's ON like Donkey Kong. I just wanna ride rollercoasters again. Oh... and live longer and stuff.
