I was banded in 2008 in MX. I loved my dr and my band for the first few months. I had 2 fills and lost about 40lbs in like 4months. Then all of the drug wars started in MX and I didn't feel comfortable going back to get my fills. So for the next few years I maintained the weight that I lost. Last April I had an emergency appendectomy where they removed all of the fluid in my band. I gained all of the weight I lost in like 3 months. I tried to get approval from my insurance to go to a fill dr. They denied it and said I would have to start from scratch and go to all the classes and clinics and blah blah blah. So I have been super depressed and gained even more weight. I kept telling myself to just call around and find a local Dr for months but I didn't. Last week I finally had enough with myself and I made a bunch of calls and found a dr near me that takes MX pt and accepts cash. So tomorrow is going to be the start of my new journey weightless journey. This time I am going to finish it.

I'm at a loss for words! Both of you look great!

I think if your band slips you can't eat or drink anything. I'm not sure because my has never slipped.

Well I have always been big boned I am very athletic and played a lot of sports. When I was in high school my sister of all people who was 5'7" 120 and beautiful used to tell me that if you can't see your collar bones you where fat . I have never been able to see mine and those words still hurt to this day. But 15 years later my sister out ways me by like 50lbs. Who's collar bones can't you see now!

Lie about your height. Say you are only 5'1". Slouch when they measure you. That will put you at 40 for sure. Good luck to you. I hate stupid insurance companies. I'm sure some skinny person made that # up

Than all of the drug wars started and I was to scared to go back to TJ for more fills. I have stayed in the 220s until this May when I had an emergency appendectomy where the surgeon removed all the fluid. I have gained almost 20 lbs. I need some support to get back on track. I think I finally understand the I need to do the work..

I went to Dr. Ortiz in TJ Mexico. He is awesome! He is one of the top if not hte top lap band surgern in the world. His clinic is top notch and his staff is way better then anyone in the us. The pest part is it is olny about $7,000 and olny about 1 month waiting time 2 weeks of the you are on a pre op diet.
