Sounds like you will have a nice number when you do weigh! I know what you mean about being afraid of stalling. I only weight once a week right now and may change it to once every two weeks or once a month if I start losing slowly. I gotta see a decent number! I had my sleeve done with Dr Illan on April 21st. Everything was very well organised. The people were great, start to finish. I really enjoyed my stay at the hospital! They checked on me around the clock...every hour or two. I felt well taken care of. The surgery itself was over without any problems and everything happened so fast I didn't have much time to worry, which I liked. My husband had a good time with the valets and he met some other "companion husbands" to go eat with. I am 25 lbs down from my starting weight of 250...which I am happy with. Everything has healed up nicely and I am moving along on my diet plan well. No problems and I am very happy with my choice. Sent from my SM-G900T using BariatricPal mobile app

One week out. What I miss most may surprise you.
JenSev replied to itstime4me123's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am 3 1/2 weeks out and I can drink water really fast now. I was worried at first because I thought I didn't have proper restriction but liquids work differently than solids I have a lot of restriction with things like eggs and fish no restriction with water and broth. You may find that it actually gets really easy to drink...each person is different. Sent from my SM-G900T using BariatricPal mobile app -

About 8 years ago I lost 60 lbs on medifast(gained it all back plus some, eventually), which is essentially 6 very small meals a day, totaling about 800-900 cals a day. The way I eat now is similar, it just isn't medifast...though I do have some medifast meals. So I just say I am eating like medifast, just not using all medifast. No one questions it because several people in my family have done medifast. Sent from my SM-G900T using BariatricPal mobile app

You may want to be cautious and have the Dr. move your date out. I'm sure they could do that if you let them know right away. Sent from my SM-G900T using BariatricPal mobile app

Call the local office that accepts applications and ask them about expediting your application. It can be done in weeks, if need be. Ask them what you need. If you need a new birth certificate, that can be usually be done in one day. Start today...it can be done! Sent from my SM-G900T using BariatricPal mobile app

One thing to consider after taking antibiotics(during or after surgery), is to take good probiotics to add good bacteria back into your system. I use Bio-kult and Prescript-Assist(both found on amazon), which together give a very wide range of probiotics. Healthy bacteria promote a healthy gut and healthy regularity. I started taking them as soon as I was done with the antibiotics that were prescribed and that is when I stopped having weird and urgent poops. Sent from my SM-G900T using BariatricPal mobile app

Calories at 1-2 weeks post-op
JenSev replied to Lizzle's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm 16 days post op. Since coming home from the hospital, I've pretty steadily been keeping between 800-900 cals with at least 70 grams of protein and at least 64 Oz of water. Seems to be about right as I've been able to meet my 10,000 steps per day since about day 7 post op and have a good amount of energy. Sent from my SM-G900T using BariatricPal mobile app -

Yogurt options pre-op
JenSev replied to BlessedMomma's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
If it is because the texture is too thick, you can add just a bit of water and stir it well. It turns out to be just like regular yogurt consistency. Sent from my SM-G900T using BariatricPal mobile app -

Who was your Mexico Surgeon?
JenSev replied to casenior's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
I had VSG with Dr Illan on April 21st and I could not have asked for a better experience. I am 10 days out now and feeling great! He is the one to consider, for sure. Sent from my SM-G900T using BariatricPal mobile app -
Another Patient Death at A Lighter Me (ALM) with Dr. Jose Luis Curiel Marchena
JenSev replied to Alex Brecher's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
I can also confirm that Alex Brecher was in Tijuana until April 21st as that was my surgery date with Dr Illan and he personally visited me in my hospital room that day. Sent from my SM-G900T using BariatricPal mobile app -

Is it possible to sip too much water during the liquid phase immediately post-op? I am able to easily sip 64oz or more in a day. Is this normal? I am worried about hurting my stomach with too much liquid. I have always been a huge water drinker, often having over 100oz per day regularly. So to me, this seems normal or even less than I am used to. What did you experience after surgery? Sent from my SM-G900T using BariatricPal mobile app

I am experiencing the same thing. I am one week out and I can get at least 64oz of water and my full liquids, no problem. I was concerned at first but I hear it is normal and that solids will be different. Sent from my SM-G900T using BariatricPal mobile app
