Hello to all, beautiful day in Massachusetts. yet sad for me

I think going to the beach is the thing I miss the most. We went to Florida several years ago, spent a week. I was one of the fat people and blended in with several others, but refused to walk down the beach in fear that I would run across the skinny people. Always fearing as you walk by those that are lined up in their chairs they are looking at each other thinking "Good God, look at her."

    ONE year and 85lbs Lost!

I really needed to hear what you said. Often I worry myself after I have read posts on this website. I know that it is not an easy road, but it is a scary one and reading your journey is exactly what I envision. So thank you for sharing and providing us unbanded folks a reason to keep on pushing forward.

    Anyone from Georgia ??

I am using Dr. Johnson who is also with Dr. Hart at Atlanta Bariatrics. I have not heard anything about True Results. How are they affiliated with Dr. Hart. Has anyone heard of Atlanta Bariatrics and Dr. Johnson?

    Oh Crap, Im approved!!

I understand exactly how you are feeling. I haven't gotten the approval, but know I will (easy insurance). The closer you get the scarier it is. It is different than someone telling you that you have to have the surgery. When it is totally your decision, you hope that it is the right one. From what I have seen on this forum, it is the right decision and one we won't regret!!!

Didn't think I had any problems but......

I had my upper GI series done today and was told I had reflux. I don't normally have any heartburn or other problems associated with reflux and also had the ekg done. It indicated some type of issue. Has anyone else thought you were fine and after you went for your testing found out you had problems. Do these issues prevent you from having the surgery?

this makes me feel better. I just left the psychologist. After talking to her I feel about as normal as can be. I am now waiting on my lab work, ekg results and the upper gi series to go back to my surgeon to make sure everything is ok. Hopefully they have sent the information to my insurance to get the approval.

hate doctors.... no one knows what they are doing

BREATHE. It will all come together and after it does you won't even remember all of the small humps along the way. Keep thinking ahead and remember you are on your way to a new life.

    Insurance Approval Stage

Tomorrow I go for my lab work and upper gi. I have an appt. with the psych. on Tuesday. I have Federal BCBS and I spoke with the bariatric nurse last week. She told me that they do not require anything but for you to be over 40 bmi and you do not have to do the psyc evaluation, nor see a dietician or have any other clearance due to federal guidelines. However, my doctor is requiring that I have the psych. clearance and clearance from my on pcp to make sure I am ok to have surgery. I went to my pcp and found out my blood pressure was high. I haven't been to a doctor in many years. So once we get the blood pressure under control hopefully I will have everything in place to have the surgery.

After that I should have everything in place to hopefully schedule the surgery. Can't wait to see a new me because I am soooo sick of the old me.
