Just Remember....the Diet Is Okay For Now But When The Newness Of It Wears Off And Hunger Plays Apart In The Diet...that Is Where The Band Comes In Handy.....it's All About The Hunger Or Lack Of It.

2 were blood thinners and 2 were something for infection

yes those shots sound worse than they are ...i had 4 of them....they sting afterwards....i had my band done in pittsburgh....i was on a wing that all it was was banding or bypass...the nurses were well informed...i also had the pleasure of a pain pump....i hit it and the pain meds went in....that was nice...my dr put me on roxicet liquid pain meds...that really helped when i was home....It took about 3 days to be off the pain meds...and about a week to be feeling better. I was banded 4/4 and i feel great today....I was allowed jello on my liquid diet.....good luck to you

I will not miss finishing eating with stains on my boobs....they caught everything my mouth misses. Buttons popping off my pants in the middle of the day. Wearing the same pair of black pants to work because they are the only ones that fit. Hoping no one noticed. Not going places because I couldn't walk.... Answering the phone and people thinking you were running because you are out of breath....all you did was get off the couch.

hey if we were so great at liquid diets and all we wouldn't need the band. I only need to do one day liquid diet the day before operation so i can't relate to what you are doing. Keep your head up you can do it.....how will the doctor know that you cheated anyway...don't beat yourself up......

Your first stop needs to be the psychologist to make sure that this is what you need.

any liquids you can see through....not..milk tomatoe soup...

OMG...yes I only had one day pre op liquid diet so that wasn't a problem..now I have 11 days post op diet of full liquids. I bought all kinds of drinks and now I to am finding that they are way to sweet. Prior to this i could drink that stuff without any problem. Thank God for tomato soup because that is what i'm living on

I had to do 24 hours liquid preop

I was banded 4/4...my dr sent me home on a liquid diet...i can have any liquids, including creamed soup, milk,yogurt, jello

I had my gullbladder out 4 years ago and Lapband 4/4...the cuts for the lapband are different then the gullbladder, both were done laproscopically and one didn't bother the other.

I was banded on April 4...I am doing fine. I went to Magee Women's hospital in pittsburgh. Everyone there was just great. I have 4 very small cuts and one about 2 inches. They are all healing fine. I'm drinking my liquids. Water is easy to get in but the rest of the protein drinks and are a challenge. My stomach hurt only went getting up off the chair or out of bed. I also had some gas pains in my lower belly, but gas X strips took care of that. Directly after the operation my back was killing me. The Dr said that many people complain about their back. Pain meds took care of that. I'm not a bit hungry or thirsty. I keep drinking so not to get dehydrated. Thanks for asking.Susan

:thumbup:your story sound so similar to mine....i was 130 pounds before i got pregnant with my son...gained weight and never saw 130 pounds again....I also have a hypothryroid.....now weighing 265 pounds I'm going to be banded on 4/4....don't wait..you are young and can do this....my son is now 17...so i have lived heavy for 17 years.....

I'm going to be banded on April 4 my doctor only requires a 1 day liquid diet preop.....yippee....lucky me...

if i could stay on a liquid diet for four weeks i wouldn't need the lapband.....

I'm not sure what I was thinking but I know I posted on the sheet that I was april 7 and on the board that I was april 3.....but i just think that i'm so excited that i got ahead of myself i'm really april 4...my birthday is on the 6th so i guess i'm thinking around the day.....

Good for you. That is exactly the reason I haven't told anyone except my immediate family. I really don't want their opinion. I agree that they hear stories and believe them. We have done research and based our decisions on truths. I tell people after the surgery...maybe...
