Congratulations! I'm 16 days post op, and reading your post has reminded me of my goals. Most days I feel well, other days I feel physically weak. You're a inspiration. Thank you for sharing.

my surgery was 2/15. I always feel a little lightheaded in the morning, and a sour stomach. I usually get up take my protonix, and sip on some warm tea. The only pain I have is on my left side, between two of my incision sites. Congrats on your surgery, well wishes for a speedy recovery. -
Hydration issues
doingit4me2017 replied to MoVSG17's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I really just had no taste at all. I usually like ice cold plain Water, but now I need a little crystal light for some flavor. I think I'm just healing. I would just concentrate on drinking more. -

Hi, I'm only a 11 days post op, I started my chewable Multivitamin with Iron at 1 week post op, and then I don't start taking my calcium with Vitamin D till six weeks post op. I seems each doctor has it's on timeline. All my information was in my nutrition class. -

My back by my left scapula was hurting most of the morning, but now it's gone. I think I over did it yesterday. It's always good to check with your doctor. -

I cannot decide if I should do this or not
doingit4me2017 replied to BeachMommy2Girls's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I had those same feelings, even when I was about to go under for anesthesia, I prayed for God to take the lead. I have tried the last 20 years of my 48 year old life to regain what I had lost with being overweight. I did the research, talked it over with my husband, prayed and thought hard about it, and in the end made the right choice for me. I'm 8 days post op, and I'm not feeling that bad. I found this website after surgery which has been a great support to me. I don't feel like I am doing this alone. I feel connected. You'll make the right decision that is right for you. Best Wishes in whatever your decision is. -
Possibly worrying too much about how to tell others I've had VSG. What did you do?
doingit4me2017 replied to LeaninLanc's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
My husband and kids know, we all live in the same house, and my close co-workers at work. I don't plan to tell any others. I do work in a hospital, so people know that have cared for me. Most people already comment that I eat clean, and never have the cakes and Cookies that everyone else at work is eating. It's my choice to share, do what makes you comfortable. -
Congratulations Mandi! Looking forward to some pureed food myself, but not till March 1st. Not sure what food I will try first, what did you start with?

Had my first post op appt today, down 10 pounds, incision sites look good, and I feel pretty good today, Water actually tastes good! Hope all are doing well

How long did you take off from work?
doingit4me2017 replied to XmeghannstarX's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
surgery 2/15, feel pretty good, Water doesn't taste that good anymore, or the fact I was use to gulping it down and now sipping, not sure, I'm off till April- I thought till March, but he is a stickler for 6 weeks, I have STD and time saved, so it's good. -
I do miss my cup of joe in the am, my dr says no caffeine for 3 weeks, surgery was 2/15, enjoying some decaf tea, didn't want to buy decaf coffee. [emoji854]

Don't wait till the pain is so bad, nothing takes the pain away when you wait too long. Take them as prescribed and you'll do fine.
-
That is awesome! Congratulations!

Hi, had my surgery 2/15, home 2/16, minimal pain, reached 60 grams protein yesterday, drinking 64 oz of water, but it's a struggle to continuously sip. On full liquids for 2 weeks, waking total 60 mins a day Glad I found this forum. Wishing everyone a speedy recovery!
