    Hunger

You should be getting at least 64oz of water and between 60-80g of protein a day. Also, are you waiting 30-45min after eating to drink? Drinking while eating or immediately after, flushes the food down. If I were you, I would keep a food journal for a week or so. And include times and portions. And go over it with either a nutritionist or yoir.doctor. they will give you the best advise Good luck!

    Bathroom problems

I went through major problems and I think I tried it all. What worked the BEST for me was a laxative tea. I drank it at night and by the morning, I was going. It didn't give me any cramps or discomfort.... I was shocked that tea worked better than all the fibers and miralax etc.
  3. Wow. That's crazy. My insurance required me to be on a medical/doctor supervised diet for 6 months (which my doctor wrote a recommendation letter that i have had difficulty losing weight on my own and strongly recommended I have the procedure), see a nutritionist (one time), see a psychologist (one time), see a doctor to determine if I have sleep apnea or if a sleep study is needed (which neither were recomended) and basic blood work, EKG, and pre-op appointments (which are required for anyone going under).. it doesn't make sense that they require you to either lose weight or maintain.. if you were able to lose weight on your own, than surgery wouldn't be necessary. I would look into it.
  4. Don't freak out! I was sleeved on Feb 14th. In the first 2 weeks, I lost almost 20 pounds. From the 3rd to the 5th week (for approx. 3 wks), i didnt lose an ounce. I was so frustrated. People kept telling me that my body needed to heal from the surgery and that it was in adjustment mode, but I still panicked. I am happy to say, they were right. I had a few weeks of no weighloss, but I am now losing approx 3-4 pounds a week. It's nice and steady and I am feeling great. I am now almost 30 pounds down and am taking it one day at a time. Good luck with your journey and remember, you didn't put on the weight overnight, so you can't expect it to come off over night. Be proud of your stepping stones, no matter how small, and you're going to see amazing results. Just be patient.
  5. Does anyone experience heavy saliva after eating and can't stop spitting up??

    Halo Top Ice Cream

I personally have never had it, but I saw many post it on a closed FB group I belong to. Just keep your portion in check and you should be fine. Enjoy it!

    Diet coke

Thank you so much for all the replies.. after hearing all your stories, I decided I don't miss it as much as I thought I did... completely not worth it! Thanks for all the support!
  8. Did anyone here take Phentermine or other appetite suppressant post-op? I was taking Phentermine pre-op and it gave me a jolt of energy. I sometimes feel so lethargic and wish I can take even half a pill. Anyone have any experience? Thanks in advance!
  9. I'm dying for a sip of diet coke... what is it about soda that we aren't allowed to drink it? Does the carbonation hurt the sleeve?

    Work

I would recommend you do absolutely NOTHING BUT REST the first week and see how you feel. My first three days felt like a truck ran me over time and again. My 4th day I was already feeling better and a week out, I went back to my normal routine. I really truly owe it to my husband. He wouldn't let me move. He literally fought me down to stay put. He was on top of me taking my pain meds before I was uncomfortable and my anti nausea meds so I wouldn't throw up... He took care of the kids completely (I have a 3 and a 5yr old). I truly believe my fast recovery is 100 percent me giving my body a full week of doing absolutely nothing but rest... I was.sleeved.on Tues 2/14 and the following Monday, I drove my kids to school and was.back to mommy schedule... not at full capacity and I still needed to rest, but I was.more.than okay with basic tasks..
  11. I'm only 2 weeks out. Isn't it a little premature to check right now? It's just so refreshing now....
  12. That's so funny. I'm the exact opposite. Prior to having the surgery, I couldn't drink cold water or cold anything. Everything was room temperature and now I can't stop chewing on ice and everything I drink has to be ice cold...
  13. Can you chew on ice while and/or immediately after eating? Or do you have to wait 30min?
