    People don't get it!

So nice to hear other people have had this issue. When I told one of my dearest friends about my plan for a sleeve she said. "Girl, everyone I've ever known who had that surgery lost weight temporarily and then gained it back. What else have you tried?" I was so taken aback, I wanted to write out all the things I had ever tried starting with WW at age ten then starving all through high school, then compulsive exercise then a full blown eating disorder then jenny craig then WW again then the Scarsdale diet and South Beach and a medical diet and every other diet and gimmick in between. I wanted to scream, I STARTED COUNTING CALORIES AT AGE 9 AND I'VE NEVER STOPPED! Then I realized that even our nearest and dearest friends don't understand the torture we put ourselves through in pursuit of a healthy weight. We don't express our devastation when we gain or our elation when we lose. It's a very private thing. That helped me to feel better. My very best friends were completely supportive. Hang in there, you deserve this!

    Favorite Week 2 Food

I'm having some cream of chicken Soup with herbs from Campbell. It's pretty darn good! I doesn't really "fill me up" in the typical way but it is a nice break from Protein shakes. I've made protein pudding with nectar vanilla Bean Torte powder and some sugar free vanilla pudding. I dream of soft boiled eggs and chicken breasts! Soon enough. I try and focus on the weight I've lost , 12lbs since Feb. 13th!
  3. Hi Shelley I was sleeved on the 13th too! My big incision still gives me a lot of pain and trouble. I feel stiff walking in the mornings. Other than that I am able to do 20 minutes of walking a day and am going back to work tomorrow. I wish I could take a few more days off but I teach middle school and am out of sick days! I can drink fluids pretty easily as long as I take sips not gulps. I do feel hungry much of the time, hopefully this will get better in 2 weeks when I can eat purees!

    Sleeve friends

I was sleeved Feb. 13th. I got Hydrocodone and Acetaminophen syrup before surgery. It was great but I had REALLY sore muscles afterwards due to a reaction to the scoline in the anesthesia and went through the syrup quickly because without it I couldn't even get out of bed! Now I am on Tramadol which is not even close to the hydro but mixed with tylenol it gets me through the day. I wish I had been more careful about rationing the "good stuff" as I'm going back to work tomorrow!
