Have a cold and surgery on 2/22

I had a cold before surgery and still had a slight cough the morning of my surgery. My anesthesiologist heard me cough and measured my oxygen level it was at 94. He asked if I wanted to reschedule or go ahead. He said if I'm not breathing at full capacity they would have to monitor my breathing differently and there's a greater risk of complications. I said I would rather go for it. I was originally scheduled for July but my dad passed away the day before my surgery so I had to cancel and my insurance company made me go through the whole 6 month process again. I would just talk to your anesthesiologist. Mine agreed with my decision to move forward but had he recommended otherwise I would have postponed it

How long were you off work?

I don't work but I am a full time college student and I was told not to return to class for two weeks. I guess, I have been Blessed. I have not had any problems. I was able to walk to the bathroom after I left recovery and put into my own room. I was discharged the next afternoon. My surgery was 2/8 (Wednesday) and I returned to school the following Monday. I have had very little pain. The first week I lost 11.6 pounds. I walk 3 times a day 30 minutes each time. My two week visit is this Thursday and I hope I can start working out after that. I think each person is different and you'll have to judge for yourself. Good luck.

    Coffee

I had my surgery on 2/8. I stopped caffeine weeks before. I do take a few sips of decaf in the mornings.
