What is your fav vitamin and protien shake brands?
Cher-real replied to XmeghannstarX's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Hmmmm...do you know why he is against them? They are actually very easy to chew into like a Gelatin -liquid form. Both my DR and nutritionist are oK with it. I would be interested to know their opinion if you ever get a chance to ask him... Thx -
What is your fav vitamin and protien shake brands?

My fave powder (I live on it) is GNCs Dymatize ISO 100 I have had vanilla and Birthday cake (recommendation of clerk as their #1 seller) I prefer the vanilla..birthday cake is good- just sweeter. I put one scoop in Water everyday (was 2x a day previously). It is great because you can put it in anything and it disappears...no grittiness what soever- not even in water. It gives you 25 grams of Protein per serving, 110 calories and less than 1 gram of sugar. Even pre op I was never a good candidate to take Vitamins. But I started taking ISOTONIX (powders that you add a little water too) I take Vitafusion Biotin gummies (Phenomeonal), OLLY womens multi gummy (OK but I will try Vitafusions multi when this runs out. I am taking a liquid Iron, a Vitamin C chew (like a starburst) from GNC. You can get Calcium from Tums chewables too. Good luck! -

Wow..yeah.. I am 40 days post op and can barely eat anything but soft cheese and liquids. Like any other time we falter... pick yourself up and learn from your mistake. You MAY want to talk to your Dr. concerning the ability to eat that much at this point.. I, personally, would think something was off with the stomach size?! That's just MHO and what I would do if I experienced what you have. Stay strong...move ahead. and smile -

Getting sleeved in June

Yeah. I saw doctor 12/3 for consult and decided to do self pay.. I wasn't ready to wait ANY longer for ins company BS. I had surgery 5 weeks after I met with him. After Christmas I just wanted to get it done.. to start my new life. It helps if you are mentally ready for the changes in your life. My last thought before being wheeled in was.. ok... they can't undo this.. are you REALLY SURE??? haha.. I was! -

It's weird... I'm a little sad that I can't eat but then again the thought of eating makes me feel sick/uncomfortable. So it's a love/hate thing . -
Gaining weight after almost 2 years.. NEED HELP!!
Cher-real replied to gomezk2's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I'm a newbie but at our support group meeting a woman that had gained a lot of weight back was told to reset the pouch. Which I understood was to start the liquid diet all over and progress to solids as you did after surgery. I did one week of liquid only pre-op and it wasn't bad. Maybe consider that? [emoji16] good luck... don't get so down on yourself -
Do any of you vets completely ignore this rule?
Cher-real replied to tenseintexas's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I was a Diet Coke junkie. I've never had coffee. Other than the weight loss.. the best thing this surgery did for me was get me off that crap. I'm very sad that I also have to give up beer.. bcs I really enjoy it.. the taste. I was VERY surprised at the first Bariatric support group when I saw they had sodas out for us to drink. But it seems some people can still drink it.. but I'm not going to try. Not worth all I've gone through to regress with that garbage. -
Sleeved on Wednesday! Normal pains?
Cher-real replied to jjsasha's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Does the pain come up the middle of your body into neck? I had that pain.. surgeon said there's a nerve that runs from diaphragm to your neck.. it eventually simmered down -

Good for you. I think I'd try to increase fiber. Cutting out all those things are key.. plus you'll have to get through withdrawal. I'm 5 weeks post op and truly never hungry. But I'm bored from not eating.. if that makes sense. I've been watching a lot of cooking shows .. it somehow satisfies me to watch them eat [emoji16] -
My best friend is GNCs Dymatize ISO100 protein. I prefer the vanilla if you like sweet you might want to try the birthday cake. You can put it in water or milk or make a shake out of it but it gives me 25 g of protein per serving. I just put it in water twice a day it's great .. you can't feel it ..not gritty. I'm having a harder time transitioning to soft foods cheese has been the best thing for me. Hummus and creamy soups. I can do egg over easy but if I scramble it ?
