Are you really sure "nothing" happened, [emoji23]

My surgeon told me it was normal in the soft/normal food stage to only go once every 1-3 days. I've been using milk of magnesia about 1-2 times a week and that seems to help. Just have to be careful with that stuff, taking too often can lead to dehydration for some people

I was told no more than 6oz of liquid an hour, even if you feel you can handle more- at least for the first week, not sure if this will change after my first post op visit

Do you guys purée eggs too or have you been eating them normally? I think my NUT mentioned eating them poached or scrambled during the purée stage of the diet

I think triplethreat just hit the nail on the head. I got sleeved one day after you and have those moments of regret every once in a while. I think part of the problem is because we are recovering, and not yet very active, we have a lot of time to get into our own heads which isn't always the best thing imho. Try and keep your head up, I'm sure this will pass shortly and before you know it you will be enjoying all the good things that will come from this !

Doing good. Feel a little tired and weak today but still able to put down all my fluids and protein so hoping that starts to make a difference. I think I'm experiencing some caffeine withdrawals, I really screwed up by not quitting altogether before surgery- I figured taking it down to 1/3 my normal intake would work out....I guess I was wrong. Thanks for the prayers and well wishes. You guys are the best[emoji106]

Thx Joycey! Been getting up and walking pretty regularly. Getting a little sleepy now from the meds and from my roommate keeping me up snoring like a damn motorboat all night, lol

1 day in the books guys! Just got up, waiting to get the swallow test so I can start drinking. All in all not too bad. Pain has been very manageable, no gas pains yet (fingers crossed)!

I went through the same thing. Going to the local support group meeting was the best decision I could have met. Usually a good mix of pre and post op. Hardest thing is not being afraid to ask the honest questions I had in my head

Greetings from Asbury! just read through this thread, your story sounds a lot like mine. I backed out on my original date too (from home, not in he operating room, lol) but am back on track and scheduled for this Tuesday. I'm sure you'll be fine at the cardio- I had a similar issue but the doc said it was fine and the surgery would be the best thing I can do for my heart. mike
