I have a way to look at my auths online. It was in Medreview and now it says PEND. Most everything I have seen goes straight from review to approved. What does this mean??
-
No I havent had to do a pre op diet yet. I do believe I will have to only do a 2-3 day liquid diet right before surgery. My BmI is 36.8 and I was approved through my ins.

I have gone through all the hoops for the Gastric sleeve over the last 3 weeks. Monday my psych eval should be at my surgeons office and they are submitting to my insurance. The surgeon belives he can get it approved with everything we have. I am still going in for a sleep study just in case it gets denied. But I am on pins and needles thinking this could be it. I could possibly get approved.

What are you using for your vitamin supplements? -
Ask yoir surgeon about the vitamin patches. Cheaper then pills or chewables.

I have been mentally preparing for over a year. I have family and friends who have had the surgery. I have bewn right there with them their entire journey. I hope all goes well for you.

My insurance only required 2 Nutrionist visits. I am currently at a 36.9 BMI with 1 comorbity and several of the life limiting comorbities. I started this journey at the end of Feb. It has gone fairly quickly but I am still so super nervous. I am exhausted from all the apts over the last 3 weeks.

I feel like I dont have enough "problems" for the insurance to approve it. But I trust my dr and I am trying everything not to drive myself crazy of this. I am so ready to have this surgery and start feeling better. I will be devastated if it gets denied!!!

Drink more protein to get nutrients.
-
Go back to your surgeon and do a follow up. See a therapist, nutritionist, take it day by day and start back with healthy eating and exercise. Better to get back in the game now before you gain more.

I havent had surgery yet but my face gets super dry. I put coconut oil on my skin at night before bed. It has helped tremendously.

Lean meats like chicken turkwy and fish are high in protein. Protein powders I would watch the sugar and carb contents in them and make sure protein is high in them.

Growing impatient

I would call the insurance and see if the request has been submitted. Most insurance companies have 30 days to approve or deny a claim or prior authorization. -
A week and 1/2 post op

It really is a mind challenge. Any addiction is hard to overcome. Maybe try finding support groups in your area for that or bariatric groups. I have the same problem and have been thinking maybe a therapist to help me before I have surgery. -
Does anyone know if having a bicuspid aortic valve is considered a caediovascular diseases that would be a comorbity?
