    Where is that thread?

I am almost sure that I saw a thread about things to take with you to the hospital and things to buy and have on hand for when you get home. Also, any tips for someone who will be travelling a couple hours one way on what to take for the trip back? Thanks!

Thanks The Best Me! Appreciate it!

    Where is that thread?

At least I found one that was really good and copied and pasted it to a document I can read or print later!
  4. Bandayed...I go to the rheumy in Feb and will talk to her about liquid meds and injectable methotrexate. Thanks. Nykee...wow! Bless your heart! I take Metformin too...one pill twice a day and Avandia. I couldn't take the Avandamet...gave me terrible diarrhea but the two separate meds don't....go figure!
  5. Thank God I have had absolutely no side effects from the Methotrexate. I have been taking it more than a year and it helps my sacroiliac joints and the other joints tremendously! I have had no hair loss or stomach problems from it. Now the azulfadine did hurt my stomach...that is what I was on before the rheumy put me on the MTX.
  6. No, I took those several years ago. Actually the only thing I am on for the arthritis is Methotrexate, Darvocet N100 and Skelaxin.
  7. Oh, I am no dummy...lol...I fully intend to do that! Thanks!
  8. Thanks ya'll. On Sundays I take 8 methotrexate plus all my other pills (about six or so). I may have to get the doctor to change me to methotrexate injections that I can give myself. I also can split my meds up and take them at different times of the day too, I guess.
  9. Hi Spalm. Welcome to the group. I am pretty new here too. I have BCBS through my husband's work but it only administers the plan....the company is self-insured and they have an exclusion even for a medical necessity! But, thank God I am now eligible for Medicare due to being on disability now for two years and they will pay...so I am told by the doctor's office that I am planning on using. Do a search on "appeals" or "insurance denial" and you will get some good info on how to appeal etc. Hang in there!
  10. Thanks Gin! That makes me feel better to know someone hasn't had much of a difference!
  11. I was diagnosed last May and have had two attacks since then. I am just begining my journey to bandland (am looking into a seminar and insurance coverage) and am worried about what effect it will have on the diverticulitis, if any. I don't even know what to eat now much less after being banded.
  12. mvpo...girl you are a riot! I will be praying for you and you pray for me too, ok? I am getting closer to getting a consultation date, seminar etc.! I am excited! Heck, Day and GC...I'll be praying for ya'll too! MVPO and I know each other from another forum! God Bless Us All!

    little one

At 4 ft 10 inches and wt of 186 puts her at 38.7 BMI so she might slide by especially if she has comorbidities.

    Looking old after weight loss!

Those tongue lifts also help your double chin look smaller in pictures. Hold your tongue on the roof of your mouth while the picture is being taken. Works great...that is if you don't have 3 chins!

    Tried to warn this person

"Donali, as always, you rock my world. :clap2:" Mine too! That was very, very well written!

    Has Oprah had WLS?

Well, now that you mention it, she really is an honest person. I love Oprah. She does work out a lot. Hmmmm.
  18. nanahanna

    I am so excited!!!

    Alright! Way to go!

    Has Oprah had WLS?

I think she most likely has. She is keeping it off better than she ever has.

Congratulations! So glad you did it and are doing well!

    Found this online

That was a very interesting article! Thank you for sharing! I am weighing all my options but am leaning toward the banding. My very good friend had RNY last year and her weight loss has slowed because she has learned how to eat...constantly...I am afraid for her ..that she will regain the weight (about 80 lbs) and her surgery will have been for nothing. Goes to show you that the "head hunger" must be dealt with!
  22. That is wonderful! I am seriously considering them. I will sign up to go to a seminar soon. So glad you are doing so well!
  23. I am so happy for you. Are you happy with your doctor?

    Medicare

Thanks for the info spydr! I will do that!

    Medicare

Oooh! That sounds wonderful to me. I will be eligible in April or May for Medicare and I have comorbidities...diabetes, high blood pressure, a touch of asthma and psoriatic arthritis.
