I started spotting the day of my surgery (after two week pre op diet where I dropped 26 lbs) I'm week 5 and still spotting, nothing heavy but it is in the toilet. (I'm also on a BC shot, so I shouldn't have a period at all) I was told it is my hormones going crazy, I also have pop up acne, which I never had previously. It is mostly brownish, so 'older' shed.

Top 5 (or10) Things You Loved/Used After Surgery
ANewLife4_Me replied to nh-vsgirl's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Just from my experience, I wouldn't load up on too much for post op. I did on some things and realized I couldn't stomach them after surgery. My staples now (in soft food stage): Oikos triple zero Greek yogurt, crush grape water enhancer, PB2 powder to mix with chocolate protein shake, string cheese, Jeannie-O turkey burgers. I hate the shakes, so I am trying to get the biggest bang for my buck on protein in food.... it is a chore to eat these days, so I don't want to waste bites if it doesn't have protein in it! I've never enjoyed plain water, so when I tried the Crush grape flavored enhancer... I was like a kid, it makes getting fluids in more enjoyable!!!!! -
Feb 2017 sleevers - how's everyone doing post-op?
ANewLife4_Me replied to biginjapan's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Sleeved on 2/15, down 19 lbs. Down a total of 45 lbs and 10 inches since start of pre op diet on 2/1. -
I get to start soft foods Thursday!!!!!! Curious what everyone ate as their first soft food? My plan says I can have soft/moist chicken and deli turkey/chicken. Would ground turkey fall under this or would that be a different consistency/harder to digest? (Emailing NUT too, just seeing if anyone has experience and noticed a huge difference) My husband has been cooking for himself and I wanted to make something we could both enjoy. Found a turkey meatloaf recipe with ground turkey, melted cheese and sautéed onion/pepper. Hoping I could test a bite and see if it works going down. Right now, I have been preparing my daughters' meals and it is all I can do not to lick everything just to remember what normal food tastes like again!! Lol

This app has been a tremendous help to me!!!! Knowing we are all different and learning from others' successes and failures! Hope you feel better soon!!

I'm 5 days post op too!!!! Sounds like gas with the pressure. Have you tried gas x strips? They've been a saver for me!! I haven't had issues with the stick feeling, but the temperature of the liquid makes a difference for me. Room temp seems to work best for me.

Feb 2017 sleevers - how's everyone doing post-op?
ANewLife4_Me replied to biginjapan's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Sleeved on 2/15 and went home same day. No pain meds once I was home... gas pains were intense in waves, but gas X strips were a life saver in those instances. Haven't thrown up either, which was my number 1 fear in the whole process. So yay!!!! Struggling with liquids/protein, but seem to be picking up 10 more oz each day. Today may be the first day I reach 64oz. Feeling great, moving and walking, but feel exhausted quicker. I'm thinking the low calorie intake? Also dealing with really really dark urine. NUT called and we went over intake and she didn't seem to think it was dehydration, but Ketosis.... possibly extra electrolyte dumping from Gatorade yesterday. No regrets, but I'm over protein shakes! The froth after mixing them makes me want to gag! 33lbs down since start of pre-op diet on 2/1!!! 7 down since surgery. -
OK Ladies, kinda embarrasing question for you all
ANewLife4_Me replied to Adina's_Journey's topic in The Gals' Room
I was sleeved 2/15/17 and did make it a point to ask if I would be baring all on the table or if I would be 'covered' for modesty. All my incisions were above my belly button and they told me that I would be covered from my private down, so shaving was never even a thought in my mind... no cath either. Now whether that took place during, I can't say, but they had warming blankets piled on me before I went to sleep and when I woke up! -
Filter for BMI over 54
ANewLife4_Me replied to salasmarlene02@gmail.com's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I've never heard of the filter, but I had my surgery yesterday and had to have a shot in the stomach for blood clots. Small needle, didn't hurt at all!
