It's good you have this forum to express what's really going in your life, but you're weaving a web that's going to continue downward if you can't confide in your therapist and your doctor. They are there to help you, not just pat you on the back when you're doing well. If you're lying to them, then you're going to continue to do bad. It's just the facts. If you honestly think the doctor doesn't know you're lying, you're sadly mistaken. This is what they do for a living and they know if you follow the plan, then you would get the results. Work it out. Work it out with your therapist. I'm a licensed counselor and I can tell you and hear people lie to me everyday and I just let them know, when they're ready to tell the full story and give me more facts than not, we can get further in their therapy. If not, they will always deal with the same issues and make a ton of excuses as to why they're not making the accomplishments in life that they're striving for. I hope this helps.

6.5 mos. post op and feeling DISCOURAGED

Are you still drinking your Protein drinks at least once a day? That has high Protein in it. I'm over a year out and I still drink 1 Premier Protein drink once a day. Not the powder form, but the ones in the carton. Are you tracking what you eat and drink? MyfitnessPal is a great app for that and that way you can see how much caloric intake you're having a day. There's a science to success, but you have to do the work and tracking tracking tracking is key. Every nibble, bite, lick, drink... -

How much more are you trying to lose? what did your doctor say? If you want to lose more, make sure you're exercising and sticking with the plan and tracking your foods and drinks. You will lose some, but you don't want to lose too much more. -
6.5 mos. post op and feeling DISCOURAGED

I'm sorry, but maybe I'm confused. Did you say your goal weight was 160? And your current weight is 155-158? Why aren't you estactic about your progress and meeting your goal? -
Please help...need reality check! Slipping up!
Tammy T Patton replied to sleevedshereen's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Sounds like you have your reality check already. just admitting it and knowing you're sabatoging yourself. If you can' stop yourself, therapist/counselors are there to help you work out your issues. They're no there to judge you, they're there to help you and guide you through whatever hard time you are having. Ask yourself.. How bad do I want to conquer this food addiction? -
Help!! Food demons and I'm barely 2 weeks post op!!
Tammy T Patton replied to Allie589's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
You did very well and showed a lot of willpower. More than you think. Give yourself credit for that first of all. Secondly, even though you're on puree doesn't mean you couldn't take a bite, it just means you resisted taking a bite. Some people screw up because they would have taken a bite no matter what part of the phase they were on. Lastly, if you think you're going to fail, you will. If you think you're going to succeed, you will. Don't let your mind play tricks on you. If you don't think your mind will be strong enough, go talk to a therapist about why that is and work it out. You'll feel stronger and more in control. Hope this helps. Good luck and keep your goal in focus, not your past. -
You definitely have bragging rights on that. Great Job!!

Newbie Advice! Plz Share Your Advice!

Two pieces of advice.... 1) Track/journal everything you eat, lick, digest, and taste. "Myfitness Pal" is a free app that you can download. I don't miss not even one day of tracking and I don't go off path from the program. 2) And move. People say exercise, I say "Activity" Just remember, you did this for you, not for everyone else. So don't let people live this journey for you. It's your journey. -
Just try not to compare yourself to others. We all have our own journey and remember we're all different. Stay focused on your goal and just don't get discouraged. We all hit a stall at some point or another, in-fact, you will hit a few. You need to make sure you get your protein in every day if you can. That is ver very important. Also, you need to get about a 1,000 calories in a day. Make sure you're tracking everything you eat. There is a cool Free app "My Fitness Pal" that you can download. How much activity are you getting in? I say activity versus excessive because all movement counts. There is another free app you can use to get a circuit workout in. It's call "7". Remember, it's crucial for you to get protein in, track your food, get in activity and your calories. Good luck!!!

Staying on track on European vacation
Tammy T Patton replied to onmyway11's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I think it's very smart too take Protein drinks with you. I just got home from a 7 day cruise and I packed a case of Premier Protein drinks with me. Being prepared is half the battle. You're allowed to have liquids as long as they're in your check baggage. I took a case of 12. i didn't gain a pound and lost 1 pound, even though I'm at my goal weight already. I knew there would be an insurmountable amount of temptations around me and I was determined not to screw up. You got this!! Pack your drinks... -
Everyone goes through a stall here and there. I'm 7 months out from my surgery and I've hit several stalls sling the way. Some that lasted 5 or 6 days. Your body will do this and it's normal and then you'll start losing weight again. Dint panic and stay on track. Remember Journaling your foods is really important to keep track of what you're eating. Sounds like you're doing everything right, so just give it a little bit.
