I'm on Day 3 and having a hard time finishing my protein shakes as well. I'm so exhausted which is the hardest part for me. I weighed myself this morning and lost 0.0 in 2 days of under 600 calories. I don't even know how that is possible.

I was advised no flying for 4 weeks ( I travel a ton for work). Partially because of risk of blood clots, partially because they said most complications happen within the first 4 weeks so I'd be close by their care if something happened. My first flight it booked for right at the 4 week mark.

Ugh I think hit the wall on day 2. Complete headache and so exhausted I can barely keep my eyes open right now.

I feel the same. Surgery is April 12th and I have so much to do, but feel like I can't focus on anything.

I'm halfway through my 2nd day and waiting for the crash. I'm hoping I'm ok through tomorrow then can be miserable at home over the weekend instead of at work lol. I just keep picturing being on the other side on April 12!

I'm actually ok so far, but I'm only halfway through the 2nd day. Next week will be the worst though- I am going to Europe on a work trip so I have to pack all my protein shakes in a suitcase and hope customs doesn't freak out haha and then be stuck drinking them warm for 5 days. I just keep trying to see the bigger picture that this will all be worth it in less than 2 weeks.

My instructions are once I am off narcotics. I plan to drive 5 days after my surgery since that is when my "1 week" follow up is scheduled for.

How many weeks to request off
kins117 replied to MelissaRose24's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My surgery is on a Wednesday and I'm returning to work the following Monday, so 1.5 weeks. -
I was so worried about mine but it was the easiest thing. When I got there, they put in an IV and I waited for a bit. For the actual procedure, I was under anesthesia (not general), but I was completely out of it with 0 recollection. I woke up being wheeled back into my room where I had to wait 30 minutes for them to monitor me post-anesthesia. My throat was slightly sore for a couple of days due to biopsy but we went out to brunch right from the procedure so it wasn't bad at all.

I'm April 12th as well!! Day 2 of pre-op diet

Good luck! I've read a lot of people have to drink the magnesium citrate. Oddly, I wasn't given those instructions (luckily!)

No weight loss, Denied?
kins117 replied to chynadoll619's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Nope, you'll be fine. My weight at my first consultation and my weight months later at my pre-op appointment were within 3 lbs of eachother and approved without hassle. -

Today is day 1 for me as well. I can feel the headache starting from no caffeine. 13.5 days to go! -
Travel after sleeve surgery
kins117 replied to natee30's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I travel a lot for work and my surgeon advised 4 weeks of no flying. He said I could do it at 3, but 4 weeks is the time most risk of complications have passed. Your timing looks just about right. -
Is it possible to lose TOO much and be rejected?
kins117 replied to mareana's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My surgeon did put my most recent weight on my submittal to insurance. I didn't lose too much in those 2 months though so I was about 41 BMI at time of submitting. -
I did mine online as well. Just paid $30 copay. Quick and easy.

Not sure what to expect
kins117 replied to mrsshook's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My process was very easy and I hope yours is smooth sailing for you as well! To give you an idea of my process: I went to my first consultation on January 13th. During the next month, I did my labs, psych eval (just did it online), got a primary care physician (recently moved and didn't have one), and a gallbladder/liver ultrasound. Next appointment was mid-February where they submitted everything to insurance for approval. Insurance approved March 17th, same day as my monthly appointment so I was scheduled that day for surgery on April 12th. Each of my monthly appointments I met with the nutritionist, exercise physiologist, and surgeon. -
I'm dreaming of a thin me for Christmas! Just getting started!
kins117 replied to Debit's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I can't wait for a thinner Christmas! That will be the first time I've seen my family since last Christmas. No one knows about my surgery except my husband and 4 friends. Scheduled for 2 weeks from now. -
I started my pre-op diet today for surgery on April 12th! Anyone else on the 12th? I had my final pre-op appointment yesterday.
-
My insurance approved 2/24 but my surgeon did not get the approval letter until 3/17. I was schedule on 3/17 for surgery on 4/12. Could have been sooner but I had work travel plans.

Today is day 1 of my pre-op diet and I'm so excited to be finally counting down to surgery on April 12th! I'm traveling internationally for work next week and trying to figure out how to pack all my protein shakes lol but I'm hoping the traveling makes the time go faster. I'm super nervous, but very excited to start the rest of my life!
-
I did not have to do a sleep study and I'm done with everything. In pre-op diet now just waiting for the 12th.
-
I have the fitbit blaze and I love it. I had an apple watch, but it was too much going on and not enough fitness, so I traded in for the Blaze and am very happy.
-
I really thought I was going to have to, having seen other people from my surgeon's office have to do it but I was not told to do any form of laxative (I had my pre-op appointment yesterday and start 14 day liquid diet today). I think they only have the gastric bypass patients do it since they are moving intestines and such?

I'm scheduled for surgery on April 12th and I'm nervous, but excited. My biggest fear is honestly the breathing tube. I've heard of people waking up post-surgery with it still in and that terrifies me. Was your breathing tube out by the time you woke up from anesthesia?
