Ugh, 3 months post op and I just had my gallbladder out yesterday. Ultrasound before vsg was clear and this time was full of stones. Luckily, surgeon was able to use the same incisions but man oh man, I am hurting! I had just gotten back to using my abdominal muscles and ended my lifting restrictions. I knew this was an eventual result of the vsg, but I just wasn't expecting only 3 months later to be back in the operating room.

I use straw all day, everyday. No issues or problems at all. I do much better getting my liquids in with it than I would without it.

How long to return to normal energy level
kins117 replied to travelergirl's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was MUCH more tired in the pre op diet than I ever was after surgery. I was in pain but felt normal energy wise by 1 week post op. -
Menstrual cycle changes
kins117 replied to Newbeva's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was prepared for this to happen since I heard of it happening a lot but the opposite happened to me. I'm 5.5 weeks post op and my cycle is late and hasn't come back yet. I was always regular before surgery. -
Depends on your starting weight. I'm down 27 lbs in 5 weeks. 9 days is fast.

Sleeping/discomfort/low energy
kins117 replied to Hollygolightlyvsg's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I'm 4 weeks post op today and I still can't sleep on my left side. I can lay slightly on my right side with a soft pillow wedged under my but I have not been sleeping well at all. I haven't slept through the night since surgery and it's really taking its toll. -
Omeprazole (Prilosec)
kins117 replied to Sleeved3.29.17's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was not told to take it at all. -
Mine is to the left of my belly button. I knew that was the one because my stomach is indented underneath where they put internal stitches.

Not worth the read. Full of spelling errors and grammar errors. I couldn't even force myself through it.

Feeling very tired
kins117 replied to crawford8903's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm 4 weeks post op today and I feel like a million bucks. The fatigue stopped at about 2.5 weeks for me. I'd feel even better if I was sleeping well. -
Yes, I had extreme nerve pain from about post op day 6 until around 2.5-3 weeks out. It wasn't the incision though but where my internal stitches were (the indent in my abdomen below the largest incision). It was agony. I had a nerve ending caught in the internal stitching. Nothing I could do but wait it out. Totally gone now at 4 weeks post op and I feel great- but I definitely can't sleep on my left side yet.

Mud Run 2w3d Post-op? Crazy?
kins117 replied to SouthJerseySleever's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I never could have, but if you have an easy recovery, that's great. I definitely hope for that for you. At 2 weeks my incisions were not closed- running probably would have caused damage or opened them up for infection. -
Very emotional after the sleeve procedure
kins117 replied to carlychloe2's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
My surgery was 4/12 and I definitely feel this way. I have my good days and bad days but it has definitely affected me. -
How long before you returned to work?
kins117 replied to Cassicakes01's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I want back to work after a week and a half and I had a difficult recovery. -
Please Help: Struggling with Liquid Meds
kins117 replied to TeacherBae's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I got the Walgreens brand of liquid Tylenol and it tastes much better than the Tylenol brand. Not good, but much easier to get down. -
Soft foods 3wks post opt
kins117 replied to hot_toddy1007's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm on soft foods too and was nervous and have had no problems at all. I've had scrambled eggs, chicken, lean ground beef, cheese, deli meat, etc. -
How long was your process?
kins117 replied to Newbeginnings313's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
3 months exactly from first appointment to surgery. -
3 weeks and 2 days. Started soft foods at 3 weeks post op.
-
Scrambled eggs, a chicken and brocolli cheese casserole that I found in a bariatric surgery cookbook (the chicken is shredded and very moist), today for lunch I had deli rotisserie chicken slice rolled up with swiss cheese. For a snack I had a mini baybel light cheese. I started soft foods yesterday. This weekend I plan to have meatballs one day and "tacos" one day (lean ground beef in taco seasoning with low-fat cheese)

I'm 3 weeks and 1 day post-op and I still have scabs on all of my incisions. I'm anxious for them to fall off and see what it feels like underneath. I'm sore, but much better than I was the first 2 weeks. I've very close to feeling back to normal. I started on soft foods yesterday to and have been handling everything really well so far.

Drain tube post sleeve
kins117 replied to klea0215's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I only had a drain for 36 hours, but it did not hurt at all. The drain removal was THE weirdest/creepiest thing I have ever felt in my life. -
My surgeon cleared adding any spices and seasons when I moved on to pureed food at 1 week post op.
-
Yep, 2 per day per my surgeons and dietician. I usually take one in the morning and one in the evening so that they're spread out.
