Hi I was banded April 07 only lost one and a half stone in two and a half years. I have joined lighter life where they use cognitive therapy to help you after weight is gone. If lighter life was in ireland I would never have gotten band as soon as I have the money I will have it removed it made my life a misery. I got sick a lot eating normal foods and the only foods that went down no problem was chocolate. I also found if I was anyway stressed I got sick even with foods that would normally not cause me a problem. If you are realistic and know you have to work on the psychological side of your eating habits then yes I would reccomend Chris De Bruyne.I only attended as an after care option when advanced cosmetic surgery went to the wall but I found them very professional and helpful. If you think it will be a miracle cure for your weight its not, the band can only work as well as you make it. Good luck whatever choice you make for me the band was a very negative thing but for many it has been very positive ,only you can make the choice and it is good to see both sides before choosing.

thanks guys ,I have restriction roe for the first time ever. I have 5 mls but I find it very hard to eat meat, chicken, fish, bread. I come home from work really looking forward to dinner and after 2-3 bites i'm sick and after that its chocolate or bisuits which i have no problem eating. I'm not losing weight the past few months but i haven't gained either. I just have no real pleasure from food anymore. if i'm out which is rare now I am just enjoying food when i know if i take one more bite I will be sick. I know its a case of running the mind and body parallel.I will keep trying i am afraid i'm not getting proper nutrition any tips on supplements my hair getting very thin wasn't the best before band but its worse since. Im a bit thick when it comes to these chat rooms what does Pm me mean?

Does anyone know any person who has had the band removed or even where to go to get it removed. I'm ex ACS patient banded April 07 have lost only two stone . I hate this thing so much it has ruined my life I don't even know if I can get it out when I will be able to aford to as my husband lost his job two months ago.

Hi roe, haven't been on forum for ages. i didn't get a fill since August in fact I still have really good restriction. am having hypnosis as well to try and quell the chocolate monster!! I have lost 10lbs and would probably have twice that gone if i could kick the choccy addiction!! have started taking vit B complex was told it balances things and helps get rid of the cravings I will have to wait and see about that one. hope things are well with you :-)

Hi Roe it was great to finally chat to someone else who has been banded. You looked great made me realise how much i'd let myself go i've been very deppressed and negative towards the band because of the mixup with my fills and having no restriction and losing nothing for over a year. I have 5 mls in now and i have to say it really does make a difference I've lost five pounds since thursday that has never happened to me before. I feel more positive now. Hello to anyone else I met I'm not sure if you are on the forum or not. Could anyone tell me how you put that thing on the end of your thread that shows how much weight you've lost??

Hi all my appointment 11.30 tomorrow can't wait to meet some others that have been banded. Aibhe I was were you are about 17 years ago there is life at the end of the tunnel .a process to go through before comming out the other end but your doing good kiddo everything normal from my experience. you have to feel the feelings unfortunately before you can let them go. there can be fun along the way also and definately a great time to get to know yourself!! Anyone going to see chris from cork on Aug 7th ryan air are doing 1 cent flights. I'm bringing two kids with me and it works out 116 yo yos for tax, fees etc their big sis lives in the big smoke so we'll stay a few days and explore!!

Hi Laura chris email address is chris.deprez@ecfs.be I learnt more from him about the band in one visit than the previous year. my notes said I had 5ml in band and when he took it out there was only 2. I didn't know this forum existed and I knew no-one that had the band so I just thought it was me when it didn't seem to be working. Jerome and yan both told me I wasn't trying hard enough! I tried to tell them I could still eat normally. They both refused to give me a fill . To be fair at that time jerome thought he would be seeing me the following month and I think yan was just being cautious on first visit. Unfortunately I had an eight month gap between fills. it is may since I got the fill at acs with chris and I still have restriction weight is comming down slowly I still have that dreaded sweet tooth to conquer. I am making changes bit by bit. good luck

Hi everyone I have been in contact with chris by email and have an appointment in Dublin 07/08/08 11.30am. Just wondering is anyone else going up on train from Cork would love some company. I don't have contact with anyone in cork that was banded would really like to meet some people and compare notes.
