I didn't have them send a letter but they did confirm today that there isn't a set time frame for my specific plan. They did make notes in my file that they confirmed the info so now I'm waiting for an approval!

The utilization management dept called me back today and conformed that my plan doesn't have a specific time frame and that it is based on how my Dr thinks I've progressed. I must being doing good because they submitted everything yesterday so now I just wait to see if I get approved!

The ins company told my Dr that my plan pays under BCBS local and it only requires 3 months. I'd never heard of a plan paying differently than the type of plan you are a member of. Good luck and hopefully no issues ahead.

I'm from Athens but having surgery in Atlanta. Do you mind sharing who did your surgery and what ins you have?

I'm still preop but the Isopure zero carb drinks are the best. GNC has them and yes they are expensive but I would check the clearance. I got a bunch of them at 50% off. Also the GNC rtd lean shakes are pretty good.

For two weeks now I have been calling to see when everything will be submitted and each time there is something else they need even though I completed their checklist. Now she tells me my supervised appointment for January may not count and I may have to start over. UUUUGGGHHHH On top of that my insurance and my Dr's office keep telling me different things. My ins is Anthem BCBS GA and they say I have to do 6 months of visits but my Dr's office says my plan pays through BCBS local and I only need 3 months. I really want this wls but I have plans for the fall and if I have to start over it may not happen. So fustrated right now!!!

Having GERD for years I've found that drinking water with baking soda mixed really helps when heartburn gets bad and medicine takes too long to react. I have trouble especially at night, waking up with food and acid burning my throat and throwing up. The baking soda quickly helps to ease the burning and settle my stomach. Hope this helps! Has anyone been able to get authorized for surgery using appointments with your primary care physician? I have BCBS of Georgia and they require a 6 month supervised diet plan but I have been working on diet and weight loss with my pcp since Aug 2016 and only 3 months with surgeon. I was going to pcp about sleep apnea but we always talked about my plan for weight loss and he has obesity listed for each appointment. Surgeon says that he can use pcp visits for pre-auth but insurance company says it has to be visits for weight loss only. Anyone have similar situation that got authorized? Good job with tracking! What do you do when you have the urge to binge or eat bad foods? I've been tracking my food as well it is going well but it gets hard when I really want something because of stress or situations that get under my skin.
