    NO Carbonated beverages- FOREVER!

I drink diet soda every day and have zero issues with it.

    3.5 months out

I'm 3.5 months out, too! There's a restaurant/bakery in my town called 7 Bites. It got its name because the owner had VSG surgery and afterwards could only eat about seven bites of food in one sitting. She decided, since her food intake was limited, that those seven bites should be the best food imaginable, so that's what she serves. ANYWAY I'm telling you this because I've adopted this as a strategy and it works! I have seven bites per meal. I've mastered the art of spacing out my bites so that I finish with everyone else. I don't get that sickly full feeling anymore. Sometimes after my seven bites I still feel hungry, but if I wait 10 minutes I realize I'm actually full.

    Frustrated a bit

I'm in a similar situation. My surgery was March 28 and I've lost 45 lbs. (I stopped saying "only" because of this forum!). It can be very discouraging. Like the other people who have commented, I focus on the positives to slow weight loss, like no skin sagging. I also haven't lost a strand of hair - don't know if it's related. Either way, I know if we just stick to it and keep eating right and exercising, this weight will have no other choice but to come off. Hang in there! You're not alone!

Weight loss? Slow? In a Stall?

    Thanks for this.
  5. Wellbutrin worked for me too, like a charm. It was prescribed for depression and the quitting smoking was just a side effect.

How long is the hospital stay

I was released the same day. Surgery at 8:30, home by 2pm.

    Walking

I didn't even go outside til about a week after surgery -- I only walked around my house. The walking helped with my gas pain but other than that it was exhausting. It got better, though, and it'll get better for you! Just listen to your body. It's been through quite a trauma.

    Stuck burps

I'm three weeks out with the exact opposite problem! I scare my dog constantly with my burps.

    Why am I so tired?

Thank you. I get ahead of myself sometimes. I guess I just wanted to hear that this was normal.
  10. Hi all. I'm three weeks out and wondering when I can expect some of my energy to come back. I feel totally wiped out and sluggish all the time. I'm getting in plenty of Protein, Water, and supplements, and I'm walking a lot, but I haven't been able to start lifting weights like I wanted to because I can barely summon the energy to lift anything. What gives? Is this normal?

    Didn't notice my weight loss

You look great! I can't tell I've lost 30 lbs but my husband says he can see it.

    Swimming

Hi all. I'm three weeks out and wondering when I can swim. I forgot to ask my surgeon about it at my last appointment, and although I remember reading about it in my lit, I can't find it anywhere. Any thoughts? My pool heater has warmed the pool up enough to go in and I'm dying to jump in! Gotta love Florida!

    Miserable

I jumped the gun on my transition to soft foods because my surgeon said I could. Maybe call his/her office and ask for clearance for an occasional scrambled egg?

    Gas pain

Me too!!! Gas pains just now going away.

    6 days post op

I'm in the same boat. Surgery on the 28th. Thankfully today some of the trapped gas "got out" and I feel like a brand new person. It will happen for you too.
