Katyasmommy Thank you for sharing your story. I am going to try to wait it out & not sabotage my journey. I am encouraged by your story as in I don't feel I am alone in experiencing this horrible stall. Keep me posted when the scale moves.

How soon is too soon for a road trip?
snapy17 replied to Rosalynn's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
3 days is maybe too soon for a 6 hour road trip. Pain, nausea & gas may make that trip miserable for you & others traveling with you IMHO. -
I am 6 weeks post op, 30 lbs list & I habr stalled. Well, not only have I stalled but I gained 2 pounds in the last couple days ???? Wth??? That is mathematically impossible as I would have to be consuming an additional 7000 calories a week to gain a pound. I am NOT..... unless this water weight fluctuation &/ or PMS....I cannot think this type of restrictive dieting can lead to any gain. Please please shed some light on this for me.

I had my surgery on 2.7.17 Lost 30 lbs post op. Now stalled & even gained a pound. Hoping its Water weight/PMS Very depressing.

I'm 6 weeks post op. I get very dizzy & light headed when I stand up. Just started a week ago. Anyone else experience anything similar ? I have an appt to see my primary tomorrow but this forum has such wealth of answers I had to ask.

Is this considered a slow loser?
snapy17 replied to Lovelyladybee's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I think that is something we all have asked ourselves in the beginning but it all depends on the weight you started with. 50 lbs no matter what you started with is an amazing weight loss for two months. Surgeons calculate the percentage of weight loss not just pounds. Having said all that once again losing 50 pounds in 2 months no matter what your starting weight is amazing congratulations -

I am 6 weeks post op & I am already able to consume 800 calories a day. Is that too much. Am I doing something wrong ? I am eating mostly protein, some carbs. However this is very concerning. I thought the 1st few months most people can barely eat. Why am I able to consume so much. Please share your experience &/or thoughts

6 weeks & 800 calories already
snapy17 replied to snapy17's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Dairymary our whole lives we've been told eat less it's a simple equation why can't you do it just eat less and so my brain is programmed to think the less I eat more I will lose .....but actually very low calories means you won't lose.....starvation mode is real even at our weight. -
800 calories at 6 weeks
snapy17 replied to snapy17's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thank you so much for your reply. I think I am not being as disciplined with my carbs as I was away on vacation & allowed myself a little vacation mode eating. B Now I must get back to low carb eating once again. BTW you are absolutely right about that starvation mode thing I was eating about 400 calories a day and barely losing weight -

Help please. I am 3 weeks post GB surgery & have been eating very small quantities of chicken breast & rice or Soup & 1/2 a slice of bread ....is this why I have only lost 14 pounds. I see people posting 20-30 lb weight-loss in the 1st month & wondering if my small amounts of carbs are contributing to my slow weight loss. Does anyone else eat carbs? What is the % of weight you are supposed to lose in the 1st month post gastric bypass ?

How many calories should we be consuming 3 months post op ? My surgeon was very vague about it but I recall something about 800 calories a day. Can you all share your daily caloric Intake & subsequent weight loss please. Thank You.

I am 4 weeks post op from GB. My period has lasted 12 days. Wth? I have a 1 month follow up in 3 days so I will ask the surgeon but anyone else have long periods ? It's not heavy but it's consistent & annoying. I'm on birth control already. Could it be wacky Hormone levels due to surgery ??

I'm in Orlando and Dr Jawad did my GB on Feb 7th. Best decision ever. 5 weeks post open 25 lbs down. We should form in Orlando support group and meet somewhere at a Starbucks or Barnes & Nobles for 30 minutes to an hour for some coffee and discussion.

How many calories post op
snapy17 replied to snapy17's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Sullie06 wow how are you able to consume that much protein ? Wow. OK so would you mind sharing a couple of sample meal ideas with me.... I am struggling with meal ideas and what to put on my plate and cannot eat that much chicken or turkey in a day to get my protein needs met. I'm really concerned that my protein intake is low. -

Oh hon don't focus on what you can't have. Focus what you will be able to have the most amazing experience losing weight, doing things you weren't able to do before, being healthier, looking hot !!!! When all else fails just go lick a Dorito chip that used to help me get through the tough times lol. Hang in there. This is one of the toughest things to go through and you've already made it to the toughest part..the 1st four weeks !!!!!

Am I doing something wrong?
snapy17 replied to strbryt78's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had gastric bypass on Feb 7th. I have lost 14 pounds & stalled. From what I have read on these blogs that is absolutely normal !!! But it still doesn't feel good not seeing the scale move so all I can say is hang in there. I am trying to. -

Has anyone else tried these pure protein bars they are amazing they taste like a Candy bar. They are about 200 calories, 3 gms of sugar & 20 gms of protein. I'm extremely skeptical about their nutritional value if they taste so amazing. I I'm unable to eat mostly anything still without difficulty but these protein bars go down beautifully and satisfy me......... therefore they must not be good...... nothing in my life that has ever tasted good has been healthy so why would I believe this is good..... does anyone have any experience or research on these pure protein bars ?

I am 2 weeks post-op and I'm at a weight loss stall is that unusual to be at a stall in just two weeks. I have lost 12 pounds and that's it...I'm stalled... I hope I'm not the only one on the planet for whom this surgery does not work
