  1. My sleeve is scheduled for May 15th, and I don't think it's really hit me yet. I feel like I'm just getting ready to go on vacation and not about to change my life. Maybe I'm just living in denial? The only thing I'm nervous about is losing hair and saggy skin. You would think that I would be worried about the surgery itself and the recovery process, but nope, I'm worried about something superficial. Anyone else nervous about "stupid" things?
  2. Does anyone notice that protein drinks make you thirsty? I feel like they dry out my mouth and I just want to drink water.
  3. I have four or five phases, all two weeks long. I can't imagine eating salad yet. How are you feeling about that?
  4. Hi All! It's been a busy couple of days. Yesterday was my first day back to work, and it went great. I got all my walking in at work and started to get back into my normal. I'm feeling great right now. I'm noticing that I'm slimming down already, and the food is getting a lot easier for me to accept. All of my incisions are itching, so I'm taking that as a good thing! I'm behind on all of my school work, so that is a little stressful, but I know I will catch up, especially if I still want to graduate in November. Have a great day!
  5. Thank you! I just got home. Everything's fine, and we even did my post op appointment so I didn't have to go in on Friday!
  6. I'm a millennial, and I understand!!
  7. It doesn't hurt, that's why I contemplated not even saying anything. However, since the incision goes all the way through, I got paranoid, and I definitely don't want it to get infected. I probably did stretch too much. It's right under my chest though, so it's in that weird spot that shrinks and stretches when you stand, sit, or lay down.
  8. I had no idea until I had my EDG done. After that, however, it made sense since I had a weird bulge where it was. You would've thought that I would think that it was weird that my stomach stuck out in one spot. I thought it was just fat!
  9. I noticed today that one of my incisions is opening up. I called the doctor, and of course I have to come in. Thankfully, tomorrow is my last day off from work, not so thankfully, I have to drive 2 hours to get to my surgeons office. Boo. On the bright side , I'm doing good with my protein today.
  10. Actually, I'm feeling great! I haven't had any pain medicine since I came home. I didn't know what to anticipate, so I kind of just took it as it was.
  11. So, the only people that knew about my surgery was my grandparents, my mom, and my two best friends. Today, I kind o had an epiphany...why do I care if anyone else knows? I'm becoming heathy for me, and am changing my life. It is by no means easy, so why would I be ashamed and care what others' opinions are? Just sharing my life lesson of the day. [emoji173]️[emoji4]
  12. I already had a hernia that my surgeon fixed while doing the gastrectomy.
  13. I'm awful at chewing my vitamins. For me, it's a consistency thing. I actually just ordered vitamin patches, and they should be here Tuesday. I've heard good things about them, so we'll see!
  14. I'm literally dying!!!! This is the greatest thing ever [emoji23]
  15. I did this morning...down 15!
  16. I think of eating fish, and it makes my stomach hurt. Even with cottage cheese, if I don't chew it well enough, it hurts so bad going down. What's the worst they could do if you don't choose to eat fish in the next 10 days? Remember, we are the ones who just had 80% of our stomachs taken out, and only eat what you feel comfortable eating.
  17. I found a bottle of pasta sauce downstairs and decided to mix it with cottage cheese, since that is something I can eat, warmed it up, and it was exactly what I wanted! Plus, just a half cup of the mixture had 7g of protein. Not super high, but better nutritionally than a popsicle!
  18. Weird. I posted my ricotta bake craving before reading your post!
  19. There's lasagna cooking downstairs, and let me just say, I can't wait till I can eat ricotta bake! Only 2 more weeks!
  20. I just wanted to say a quick thanks to you guys! It's so helpful to have other people who you can share frustrations with and can understand what you are going through. Tomorrow is a new day for us all, and I know we will keep getting better!
  21. Lucky! For me that has to wait...2 more weeks!!
  22. I'm feeling extremely tired today. My mom left this morning to go back home, so maybe it's just that combined with my body recovering. I'm having a really hard time with my protein. I just hate the protein shakes so much. I'm just kind of blah today. Tomorrow will be better.
