I'm 2 years out and 130 pounds down.
-
I am actually outside racing with my 6 year old. Two year ago I couldn't even out walk her.

My family and I traveled out of the country a this past summer. I looked at my passport and went into full panic mode. It looks absolutely nothing like me. I had this fear I would get stuck out the country. The young lady in customs just looked up and down and said wow you lost a lot of weight. She then advised me to get a new passport the next time I plan on leaving the country.

Please help me, I have terrible regret RNY
naturallyzee replied to RuthD's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
Ruth, what you are feeling is completely normal. I felt the same way. I thought the rest of my life would be miserable. The first few weeks I regretted it horribly. Almost 2 years out I feel like a new person. I'm down 120 pounds, a size 12 from a 26. I'm off of close to 10 medications. The last time I saw my primary care physician he stated I was cured. I wish I would have done it years ago. I enjoy life so much more. Things will get better. Sent from my moto e5 plus using BariatricPal mobile app -
Worried Sweet-Tooth with question
naturallyzee replied to Robynsquest's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
I had RNY 03/17. I occasionally eat sweets. I don't dump at all. I ate 1/2 slice of cake 2 days ago. Absolutely nothing happened. For some reason I wanted the dumping. I thought it would help me stay on track. Though I don't dump I'm still very careful of what I eat. I don't want to go back to the old habits. I also consciously watch my carb intake Sent from my moto e5 plus using BariatricPal mobile app -
I Was Amazed When I Heard This
naturallyzee replied to Danny Paul's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I'm almost 2 years out. I have to be very careful with steak. I may take one TINY bite of my hubby's. I never order it for myself. Tried it months ago and felt like I ate a brick. Also, can't do shrimp. No matter how they are prepared. I immediately feel full and nauseated. Potatoes are also a no no. I pretty much live off chicken, cheese and tuna pouches. I also eat plenty of salads. Those are my only real food issues. Well I cant eat holiday food. Especially dressing. It does the brick thing in my stomach as well. Two bites and I tap out. It's the oddest thing though. I can eat sweets and not dump at all. I don't make it a habit of eating sweets. I will occasionally. I'm still trying to figure this new stomach out. I had RNY March 2017. My highest weight was 330. Surgery day I was 292. This morning I was 176. I have no regrets. It was the best decision of my life. I should have done it years ago. My diabetes is gone. Im off about 5 different meds. My blood pressure is good. I can actually jog. I don't have dumping. I may burp a lot occasionally, if I over eat or eat too fast. I don't vomit any more than I did prior to surgery. Every now and then I know if I take another bite I will. So I don't take another bite. I did not lose any hair. It is as thick as it's ever been. My vitamin levels are good I just finished exercising with my 5 year old. One of the perks. Before i could onlu sit and watch her run around. I went from a size 26 to a comfortable size 12. Everyone thinks I'm much smaller. I don't correct them. Also as Johnny2thumbs. I can generally eat what I want. I just stay away from sugar, rice, bread, pasta, and others. Hi McKenzie. Without looking at the scale, I really started to notice about 1 1/2 months out. My clothes started to feel loose. I just started feeling different. I knew I was loosing pounds because I literally weighed daily. I still sometimes do. Actually I do it all the time. I didn't really FEEL it until then. I started at 292 surgery day. I'm a little over a year out. I weighed this morning. I'm down to 176.6. As for others they noticed about 70 pounds out. A few co workers noticed but not many. After a 100 pounds a co-worker worker said "Did you lose weight"? I sarcastically said about 10 pounds. She said well you look good keep it up. I just laughed. HW 330 SW 292 CW 178 GW below 200

Yes. It was some kind of Clorox antibacterial soap. I had to use it the night before and the morning of surgery. HW 330 SW 292 CW 178 GW below 200

Just Curious .. can you handle bread, rice, pasta?
naturallyzee replied to Leo85's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had rny exactly 1 year ago today. I can tolerate all three. I just don't. I will eat oatmeal occasionally. I have no problem with it. The others I stay completely away from. I haven't had them since about January 2017. I'm afraid if I start I won't stop. So I don't even take that chance. HW 330 SW 292 CW 178 GW below 200 -
My god......what have I done?
naturallyzee replied to FatGuy5000's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
I felt the exact same way after rny. I assure you it does get better. I'm down to 178 lbs from my highest weight of 330. 292 on surgery day. I fit comfortably in a size 12 down from a 26. My only regret is I waited until I was 41 years old to do it. I wasted my youth fat, sick, and unhappy. Just hold on and stick with it. Soon it will be a distant memory, HW 330 SW 292 CW 185 GW below 200 -

Husband threatens divorce if I have surgery
naturallyzee replied to Copper5's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
Im very sorry you are in this situation. He should understand this is for your life. This is not cosmetic. Try and explain to him that this is to improve and prolong your life. If he still doesn't understand you may have to do some serious thinking. HW 330 SW 292 CW 185 GW below 200 -
Honest opinions on Syntrax Nectar?
naturallyzee replied to teach2017's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
I love the Syntrax and I'm a pickup drinker. I love the roadside lemonade. As well as the caramel cappuccino. I sometimes make a hot or cold coffee. I also order the variety pack from Amazon. It's about $37. My nutritionist gave me a number to order from where it's only about $15. I can't find the number. I'll call her Monday and post it. HW 330 SW 292 CW 185 GW below 200 -

Sleeve or Bypass? Lots of medical issues against each
naturallyzee replied to CyclicalLoser's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I suffered from basically all of the symptoms your wife has. Probably a few more. I had gastric bypass March 8, 2017. My tastes be have completely changed. I no longer have the desire for sweets, breads, or many other carbs. My husband also had a vasectomy. I'm 42 but I still take birth control pills because of the benefits. I was on 2 shots and 4 pills na day for diabetes. I no longer take them. I tried protonix and other meds for gerd. I ended up taking 40 mg of Omeprazole. As of a few months ago I no longer need them. I tried Treximet and Imitrex for migraines. I still have them occasionally but not nearly as bad. I take Excedrin migraine to help with that. This surgery has basically changed my life. My symptoms are about 95% improved. Even the knee pain is significantly better. I still have a little pain but nothing like it was. I know it's arthritis that stemmed from years of weighing 300 pounds. After years of hurting literally all over I feel gastric bypass has given me my life back. I'm able to do things I haven't done since I was a teenager. I can walk for miles and not skip a beat. I forgot this part. My a1c went from 10+ sometimes to 4.8 at my last visit. Sleeve or Bypass? Lots of medical issues against each

I am one of those that do not dump. I have tried sweets one or twice. I no longer have the desire for sweets. HW 330 SW 292 CW 185 GW below 200 -
I was found to have gastritis and h-pylori a few weeks prior to surgery. I had to take some pretty mean antibiotics to cure it. 12 pills per day. The antibiotics we're worse than the gastritis. They still went on with the rny. HW 330 SW 292 CW 185 GW below 200

Change to type of surgery in surgey
naturallyzee replied to Nancy Geoghegan's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
Four months prior to rny I had a colon resection. I had to sign a consent saying I would have rny if possible if not I would have gastric sleeve. I also have a liver condition. It also stated if my liver looked abnormal a biopsy would be done. HW 330 SW 292 CW 185 GW below 200 -
I used to love eggs prior to rny. Now they make me gag. They also cause stomach discomfort. The same thing happened with shrimp and potatoes. I never really liked milk anyway but I do almond or coconut milk. It goes down easy. HW 330 SW 292 CW 185 GW below 200
