  1. Try to enjoy the process! You have an opportunity to lose all your excess weight. Eventually you can eat everything again. Take this opportunity to heal yourself from obesity. It really is a short period of time in your life. The first year is when you'll lose the most weight so just keep at it and be Positive! The time is gonna pass and you want to enjoy it - think of smaller sizes and more energy.
  2. I'm 2 years post op and your stomach will get back to normal eventually. Don't fool yourself into thinking you'll never eat junk or binge again or gain weight. Unfortunately that can happen after 2 years. I made the mistake of thinking the 6 months pre op were my last days of eating real food and gained like 20 pounds! I wish I'd never been that stupid cause I would be at a lower weight now if I hadn't gained those extra pounds. Now I have to diet to get them off.

    Ready to start dating

From my experience guys don't care about surgery. Would u want to listen to a guy talk about his surgery? Or surgeries? Nah u have a small appetite - just order an appetizer... not sure if you're drinking wine - stay away from beer. I had a glass of cranberry and vodka on Saturday and it was fine. Need to be at a year post op to drink. I started sooner and it slowed down my weight loss. Good luck with the dating! And guys do care about appearances but they don't normally expect supermodels unless they're super vain themselves!

    Weight gain after a month..

Our u weighing yourself daily or once a week on same day? Weight gain can happen daily but over course of weeks should be losing.

WHy am I so scared of a bypass?

I'm 2 years post op of RNY and I can eat ice creme cones!! I could have 5 a day if I wanted to gain weight. U will have to ensure to get your protein shakes and vitamins and eat a lot of carbs asap so u don't lose weight. I would think since your goal is not weight loss the surgeon will not make your stomach too small. But u will lose weight the first 12 weeks no matter what but then can work at gaining it back. I used to have acid reflux but now never post op. Good luck I hope it works for you!

    Input needed

If your BMI is 40 you're big enough - I wish I had done my surgery years ago. If what you're doing was working you'd be a healthy bmi. All the best! It's a big decision but 2 years post op and lotsa weight gone. You'd never know I had surgery by my food consumption just that I eat less.
  7. Wish i could say that binge feeling is gone forever but it's not. It will come back so it's best to learn to normalize your eating so that when it does happen you can't eat as much. And exercise has to be a way of life if you want to keep weight off - just from my experience that and eating regularly not grazing.

    6 weeks out+baby back ribs=DUMP

Vomiting sucks it can happen from eating too quick too fast too much...sucks when it happens - worst is when it's both ends! Vomiting on toilet good visual lol Dumping normally happens when eating too high sugar or liquids with meals. But gastric distress either vomiting or dumping generally subsides after the first year.

    Scareddd

I had RNY gastric bypass not a sleeve but no pain once left hospital after 4 days. I think pain depends on incision and level of care. I was on an IV with pain killers post op so had no issues. Didn't need pain killers when home. I had laparoscopic surgery so incisions are tiny. It was the best decision for me to lose my excess weight. I'm 2 years post op and very happy and healthy. It is surgery so expect some discomfort and pain but honestly a couple of days of discomfort is nothing compared to the multitude of benefits from losing weight, getting healthy and gaining confidence.

    That's a good response!
  20. blondie66

    Low defenses?

Yes you must get on a good probiotic like HMF powder just add to water very easy to use.

    Anyone jealous?

Yes some people will get annoyed with your weight loss...I dunno if it's jealous or what but you'll get the mean and judgemental comments. This is your journey if they want to have the surgery they can speak to their doctors. I told a very obese colleague at work I had the surgery cause she asked me about my weight loss and I was trying to help her - said if u have any questions we can go for coffee....well it was used against me to judge me and she told everyone. I'm 2 years post op and the surgery honestly is only a tool I could gain back my weight so the surgery helps the 1st year to get the weight off but u have to do the work...it's not the easy way as so many people think but it is an effective way.
