I was worried about that too!! But most peeps says I look younger. I did do firming laser every 3 months on face and neck which may have helped. Also facial exercises can be good too. As for creams Nivea q10 are good ones and affordable there is a serum and facial cream.

Make sure you're eating enough u should have energy... no reason to be feeling tired and weak.

My experience is that I wasn't able to eat much Protein for first year 3 bites and be full. I would just eat less of whatever was making family for dinner. I got my protein from shakes and protein bars.

Cramping/constipation relief
blondie66 replied to mrsmjmillet's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
Never been able to drink much water especially the first 6 months post op. My vitamins and sensocrat helped. -
You're doing great! But I'd suggest eating more that's very few calories. At 4 months post op I was eating around 1,100 and 1,200 calories and losing 10 pounds a month. U don't want to slow your metabolism down...just from my experience. And if you haven't started you can start exercising. I do a mini trampoline workout 30 mins 3 - 5 times a week and strength training and I think it helps keep metabolism going and change body shape.

Dental problems after RNY???
blondie66 replied to carlychloe2's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
17 months post op went to dentist last week all good no issues -
Could u possibly be eating too much sugar or carbs? Or eating too quickly?
-
You'll need carbs the first year to stop nausea and constipation. It's low calorie the first year worry about cutting carbs if you're not losing. I lost 8 to 10 pounds per month first year... 130 gone about 10 more to my goal. High protein will take off the final pounds post 1 year and help with maintenance.

Vitamins are killing my carb limit!
blondie66 replied to B.Annie's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
The first year u don't really need to worry about counting carbs. If u eat too much sugar or carbs you'll be on toilet. Take your vitamins they're very important but don't worry about counting every gram. After 1 year if u still have weight to lose u can count carbs but it doesn't have to be super low. -
Regarding severe bone loss after RNY
blondie66 replied to carlychloe2's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
Have to ensure to take calcium citrate 2 tables twice a day and do weight bearing exercise. I'm over 50 and bones are healthy but it is something to be aware of and to ensure to take supplements and get annual blood work. I had RNY and it's worked amazing for me in balancing blood sugar and cholesterol. -
Fat and Protein fill me up! I can eat maybe 3 ounces of protein. I try and eat more balanced and sometimes need the carbs to keep my digestion moving and give me energy. It's just remembering not to eat too much of them cause carbs I can eat no problem. Proteins have to be careful cause if eat quickly or too much will vomit.
-
I took senokot s and make sure you're eating enough. U should be able to have some normal food. Sometimes at that early stage i'd have to eat more to get things moving..

Yep sounds good 2 centrum chewables, 1000 mg of b12 every other day get the strips that dissolve on tongue and chewable vitamins d and calcium combined...switched to non chewable after 12 weeks. I didn't take extra iron but it's always been good depends on your blood work. And keep drinking protein shakes.

Had Laparoscopic surgery also and had lots of dark blue purple bruising on one incision site but no fluid. -
Pureed Food Choices
blondie66 replied to ursusmaritimus's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
If you already like them I'd use them. I tried baby food in my early weeks and thought it was disgusting! Stuck to applesauce and creme of wheat and of course protein powder added to them and never ending drinking of protein shakes -
I didn't notice a difference with the affects of alcohol being quicker. But one time I dumped from having 2 coolers that was not nice! Luckily I was able to make it home before the explosion...

Will we ever be able to drink liquids like we use to?
blondie66 replied to Lovelyladybee's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I remember wondering that but yes 1 year post op can drink water easily. Just don't drink with meals wait 30 mins after. Well I do that usually except if I'm having wine then drink and eat at same time -
Why will this be different? number two!
blondie66 replied to AstroGuy's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
The surgery will balance your blood sugar which will help with losing your 65 pounds and improve your health. I was pre-diabetic and it's a non issue now blood sugar and cholesterol all good. -
Yes 3 weeks post op you shouldn't be eating solids. You're gonna stretch out your stomach. Follow the weekly recommendations provided by nutritionist. If it wasn't provided then google. I eat lots of carbs but I'm over a year post op...carbs and solids will come.
-
I couldn't juice first year...couldn't drink enough calories since only drinking a couple of ounces at a time. IMO I'd wait till approx 9 months post op and then try. The first 3 months follow the Nutritionist plan which is will be mainly protein.
-
It is scary and sad to hear the struggles that some people go through from surgery. I have to be careful with protein it can make me vomit if eat too much or quickly but carbs no issues!
-
Hope you're feeling better and on the mend soon. Many blessings for a speedy recovery!

Not new to low carbs & so I am familiar with some side effects

My breath is better post op! I think all the nasty stuff got cleaned out....even when I was on just liquids no bad breath. As for gum I didn't chew until 1 year after not sure if that was a rule or just didn't want gum. Even now I don't wake up with bad breath. -
I initially wanted sleeve cause I was worried RNY too drastic...my surgeon recommended RNY. I had 18 months ago and no serious issues. Honestly I see more success from RNY not sure why but most people seem to keep the weight off with RNY. You will need to take vitamins for rest of life but you get used to it. The surgery gave me back my life and confidence. I wish I did it when my kids were younger. There are so many regrets cause I let my obesity rule my life when they were young. Follow Drs orders and menu for first 12 weeks and remember it's surgery so you'll need about 4 weeks before you feel normal again but it's so worth it. And I had a hernia so stayed an extra day in hospital and needed stronger anti nausea medication but nothing serious or painful. Good luck with your decision! It's amazing what surgeons can do.
