Make sure you're drinking the protein shakes at least 60 grams a day and taking your vitamins b12, multi vitamin and calVitD... they are all very important if u wanna keep healthy and have energy.
-
Just from my experience i don't agree! You should be feeling good! Make sure your blood work is good...vitamin b12, D and iron levels.
-
Good idea to make sure levels are higher before surgery cause they tend to drop afterwards...have to keep up calcium and vit d
-
I know this sounds strange but make sure your vit D levels are good. I get lower back pain but it's always when my D gets low. It takes awhile to get it back up also...can take a couple of months.

Diet hot chocolate, flavoured yogurt and fudgesicles can help.

Flatulence and foul smelling stools

Have u tried kefir and taking MSM? Kefir is a probiotic drink you can get it flavoured at grocery store and MSM is very good for leaky gut. About 8 months post op I started getting small rashes. I took MSM for 3 - 4 months and they stopped. Also watch your sugar intake and don't drink with your meals. -
6 months out and completely lost

Weigh yourself same time same day weekly not daily. If you're dumping you're eating too much sugar. Go back to basics, protein first 3 meals, w healthy protein based snacks, no fluids with meals, exercise daily. It will come off... good luck and try not to obsess about the weight. Think about the health benefits and positive gains you're making. -

It's much easier to stick to the weight loss journey after our surgeries. He hasn't had the surgery and finds it hard to stick to a weight loss program. Unfortunately he won't lose the weight until he wants and is committed or has surgery himself. The reality is it's his issue not yours. Take it from a 51 year old women! Take care of yourself and if he wants to join he will and if not you will move on. Do not sabotage your life and health for a partner, parent, sibling, friend...anyone.

PostOp 8 Months - Terribly Disappointed and Confused
blondie66 replied to spskcmo's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
Did you have RNY? At 8 months post op the weight loss does start to slow and you can eat more. Now you have to follow the rules 3 meals, protein first, drink 30 mins after meals not with them and exercise 30 mins daily. Don't graze or eat sugar and the weight will still keep coming off. -
Where are all the Canadians ?

Here!! Had RNY surgery 2015 waited 9 months not sure why some peeps waiting 2 years! Surgery in Toronto and I didn't miss any of the booked appointments didn't want to miss my place in line. -
You will notice a BIG difference when you lose weight. After losing over 100 pounds people open doors, smile, help me at clothing stores...honestly it's strange. I was invisible when overweight. People will just be nicer to you. It's unfortunate but I think it's a natural response in society. I've seen guys at work be all big smiles and doors open and they don't even recognize me and I've worked in same building for over 10 years before I would have been ignored. I have more energy and am happier now so people may pick up on that also. I have found there is a difference in how you're treated.

Wow great work both of you!! You're amazing running marathons!!

Prevention of sagging skin workouts???
blondie66 replied to Christina.Rose's topic in Fitness & Exercise
Lose skin depends on age and how much you have to lose. Weight training helps the muscles look better under the skin. I hear skin brushing helps and Vitamin E helps. -
Sensocrat at night can help and after 1 year triphala is good for staying regular.

Working out after Weight Loss Surgery
blondie66 replied to SlimStacey's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
Started walking as soon as got home very slowly at first. Eventually working up to 45 mins. After 4 months then switched to mini trampoline working up to 30 mins 3 - 5 days a week. Added in light weights 2x a week. Have stayed on this program for over a year. -
My vitamin d was low last year and i had to take extra supplements but my levels are good now. I always know when my D is low cause I will get lower back pain. I take slow release Citracal 2 tablets 2 x a day.

Really struggling after almost 2 years post op, need emotional support
blondie66 replied to Michelle920's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
Sorry to hear of your loss. That must have been tough with your dog ...at 2 years post op we can pretty much eat whatever. I think the best is to try and stick to basics and exercise. Don't over think the dieting. Everyone has coping mechanisms and bad habits we have to be conscious of them and find betting coping mechanisms. I know when I'm stressed the first thing I want to do is eat. I'm trying to find other ways to cope such as walking and having a bath. Also a warm drink helps such as diet hot chocolate and coffee. -
