  1. Hi all, Did anyone have GERD pre-op but decided to go with the sleeve instead of the bypass? How did it turn out?
  2. Thank you for the perspective. I appreciate it.
  3. Ohhh! My dr did not say any of those words to me. I will read up on it and ask more questions when they call me. He took a biopsy during my EGD so I am waiting for the results. Thanks so much. This is super helpful.
  4. Ugh! Well that is annoying. Is your reflux manageable?
  5. I've never heard of a hiatal hernia. Is that similar to GERD? I can google it when I get to work... LOL! So glad you are doing well. [emoji847]
  6. You're right! I don't have another choice. The Doc knows best. What a stressful process but I guess no one ever said it would be easy. Lol. Thanks for the advice.
  7. Hi all, I'm scheduled for my endoscopy on Monday at 10:15am. I woke up today with a sore throat this morning and little bumps in the back of my mouth. I feel perfectly fine otherwise but now I'm really nervous that they will cancel my procedure. Did this happen to anyone? If so, did they still see you even though you didn't have any other symptoms? This whole process has been overwhelming for me. I found out last week that I need my gallbladder removed because of gallstones. I really can't afford a set back Thanks for listening and sharing your experience if you have one.

    ONEDERLAND!!!!

You look amazing and just know that you have inspired as least one person. ME! Congrats!
  9. I have pain in my back, abdomen, and right under my rib cage on the right. My stones are fairly big. One symptom that I have and I didn't know it was related is I have digestive issues when I eat certain foods. So I cut out fried foods months ago due to the pain it caused me. I think I'm coming down with strep so I'm going to hit up an urgent care tonight and try to get on meds asap.
  10. Hi everyone. I am new here and going through the pre-op process. I had my consult with the surgeon today and they found on my US that I have gall stones. He said that they would remove the gallbladder during my VSG surgery. Has anyone else had this done? I'm now worried that the process to get a date for my VSG will not move fast enough and I will end up having to have my gallbladder removed beforehand which will push back my VSG date. Apparently the stones are fairly big and I've been having symptoms for months that I didn't realize. Any advice is appreciated. Thanks
  11. I am praying so hard...lol! I almost feel paranoid now.
  12. I have pain right under my right breast near my ribs. It can be mistaken for gas pains. Also, sometimes I feel nauseous or have diarrhea right after I eat certain foods. I cut out fried foods a few months ago because of this. All this time it was my gallbladder. Are you having similar symptoms?
  13. Fingers crossed! [emoji18]
  14. Thanks so much for sharing your story. Makes me feel a lot better. This process can be so stressful!

  17. Yes!!! I'm happy to hear it increased your energy level. I work full time and have 3 kids and I'm always tired. I'm hoping this will help with my energy as well. Thanks for responding!! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  18. Hi everyone- I am new here. I started the process about two weeks ago for Gastric Sleeve surgery. I am in the process of getting all of the testing done. I went last week to have all of my labs done and I got my results today. The results show low Vitamin D and Vitamin B12 levels. I started to get really nervous because I was not expecting that. I was expecting the high cholesterol which is something I've always struggled with. Has anyone else had low Vitamin levels? And if so, how was it treated? Thank you guys! 19. Thank you, ladies! This is helpful. I will talk to my dr about it as well. I live in PA and it's been a pretty dark winter. I spend most of my time inside and by time I leave work it's dark again. Haha! Cannot wait for day light savings time. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
