Irrational fears?
Sherrie Scharbrough replied to Hoping052017's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
It is a weird feeling for sure. Our minds just don't catch up with our Weight Loss. I'm 3 years out and my mind still hasn't caught up. If I look at my face most days I am ok. But my body is so different. Hang in there!! Nothing is better than making and meeting your goals!! -
Best feeling ever!

That is one HECK of a NSV!!! (nonscale victory) These are some of the things that keep us goin g for sure!! I can personally say that wouldn't work for me because my hubby has always way outweighed me. But he had his Sleeve surgery and is losing great now! When we got married (I was 17 and he was 23) I weighed 135#'s and he weighed 350. He made me feel so tiny. LOL I did get scared at my highest weight. I got as high as 285#'s. I thought you better do something or you will catch up to him. LOL Something like so many others I fought my weight all of my adult life. Thankfully I got my WLS July 2, 2013. I have maintained my 124# loss for 3 years now. I can't wait for him to get his weight off so we can begin to live life again. Way to go on your weight loss!! KEEP ON KEEPING ON!! -
I didn't mention that my kids are grown with kids of there own. LOL Yes losing weight and exercise can cause the lost periods I have been told. When I didn't have mine it wasn't from weight loss or exercise. Believe me. LOL I hope everything works out for you.

3 Things I Haven't Done In Years
Sherrie Scharbrough replied to 2-Liter's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
AWESOMENESS RIGHT THERE!!! Way to take CONTROL!! Both of you are making it a daily life change and believe me that is what helps you to be successful!! I myself had the RNY July 2, 2013. I have maintained my weight of 125#'s for 3 years. I lost 132#'s but did finally gain 8#'s back which was a good thing for me because I looked sick. It isn't the surgery that finishes the journey it is the tool to get us where we need to be!! Good Luck and KEEP ON KEEPING ON!!! -
I sure can't help you with that!! I had my Hystro many many years ago. I was thrown right into the change. I have an ovary that was sugically removed 2 times and have grown back. They have decided that I will die with it because if they do surgery to remove it if one cell is left it will just grow back. They put me on Depo shots once a month to shrink it. So far it has worked it hasb been 8 years. The weird thing about it was I never had my periods at al sometimes 1 time a year. I had a very hard time concieving but had 2 kids 6 years apart. Now WHEN I don't need it it wants to work. I guess it helps with the horomone stuff still. LOL Sorry you are having a hard time. It sucks for sure!!

How Often Do You Weigh Yourself?
Sherrie Scharbrough replied to Alex Brecher's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I must say this so everyone can understand my OCD tendency. I can become so totally obsessed with the scales. I hate them!! I hate to weigh even at the DR's office. I have even cancelled DR'S appointments because I knew they would weigh me!! So for my own sanity I try to weigh 1 time a month. My hubby kept pushing me to weigh. He doesn't realize how it affects me. I have felt that I had gained weight and thought I would stick my head in the sand!! But you know what? I hadn't even gained a pound. I think I should weigh myself only at the DR.'s office. That is my plan for now. Hubby be DAMNED. LOL -
I watch MY 600 POUND LIFE. And DR NOW will pull his patients on the carpet fast when they try to say that they are retaining fluids. LOL

What's going on with the website
Sherrie Scharbrough replied to Black2028's topic in Website Assistance & Suggestions
I haven't been on BariatricPal for a few days. When I noticed I wasn't getting any posts from any of their forums. Today when I went into their site my old account Shedo82773 was gone. Then I made another account. Now it looks like I am a newbe again. LOL Frustrating as heck. -

Hi, my account was deleted for some reason but here I go. I am 3 and 1/2 years out from my RNY. I was 57yo when I had my WLS. I went below my goal weight in 6 months. I gained 8#'s back so I have maintained my weight loss for 3 years. I felt like I should go BIG or go HOME!!! I thought to myself you have 1 shot at this. I didn't want to have any other WLS because I knew myself and realized that I had to take my one and only shot and get off of medications and lose my weight for the last time. Here are my STATS: HW 249 (this time. I was at 285 but managed to lose down to 249) SW 232 LW 117 CW 125 TO 129. I was on insulin before my surgery, 100 units 2 times a day. Plus Metformin 500 gr 2 times a day. I took 12 different pills but now I take 4. 1 for my thyroid and 3 for my high blood pressure. Plus my Vitamins. We must take our vitamins!! It is NOT an OPTION. The sad thing is, it doesn't how up in our blood work for a long time. I am OVER the MOON with my WLS choice. You and your Surgeon can make a decision together for which surgery will be the best. I have heard and seen some absolutely great results from the ones that have had the Sleeve done. -
