Protein shake that's easy on the stomach?
TTrisha replied to soccermom2's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I used to drink premier protein shakes but I developed an allergy to them. I switched to Slim Fast Optima; it's the one with 25 grams of protein, almost no sugars and no carbs. I have been liking and tolerating it well. -
That's a great suggestion Nicoteolis. Would you want to create a group? I would love to join.

It was blood drawn, urine sample and a chest X-ray for me. I had already done an ekg in my previous appt.

Congrats on getting your date. I know it's a tiring process but it will all pay off at the end.
-
I am here at my pre op appt right now. I will let you know what all they do.

Wow... today is the 11th and I go for my pre op testing. My surgery is exactly one month away. It is starting to feel real.
-
Best wishes to both of you. Keep us posted.

What to bring to hospital?
TTrisha replied to lhvpac's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Does any one of you know if we can have organic no sugars added coconut water post op? That will help with dehydration if allowed. -
Keep us all posted on your progress. Good luck [emoji256][emoji106]

May surgery and surgeon has me second guessing the sleeve
TTrisha replied to AntoinetteNY's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My surgeon at first also suggested bypass, mainly because of diabetes and the amount of weight I need to lose (50-60 pounds). She said that I will probably benefit more with bypass but she will perform a sleeve if that is what I want. She told me to keep an open mind when I am doing my research and the biggest deal breaker for me was the dumping syndrome. I told them I want a sleeve and that is what we are going with. -
Thanks!

I know the feeling. I have mixed emotions too. Sometimes I question myself and sometimes I feel so proud of myself for deciding to take my health my hands.

Finally, got my date! Getting sleeved 04/27!
TTrisha replied to michellee323's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Congrats on getting your date. Mine is May 11th. I think it is normal for them to tell you that no pre op diet is required. It depends on person to person and how comfortable the surgeon feels accessing your stomach. Mine told me to diet only for a week but not to be too harsh on myself. I am however required to do the 1 day fast prior to surgery. -
My pre op blood work is on the 11th. I can't believe it is so close. The countdown begins [emoji4]. Can you all share what are you doing in preparation for your surgery?
-
Keep us posted on your progress. Good luck!
