Well I thought this day would never arrive. I finally have a surgery date June 4th. My pre-op is June 2nd. I cannot wait to start my journey and new lifestyle. Where can I find what all I need to pack for the hospital? I had seen a thread and now cannot find it. How do we get tickers? I'm so new to all of this on this website. Any and all advice is needed and wanted. I know everyone's experience is different. I'm hoping to make new friends. Hope to hear from you. Hugs! Teresa

Congratulations Paula on your weightloss. I lost 20 lbs pre-op on my liquid diet. I was banded on June 4th. Since I was banded I've lost 35 lbs. My doctor told me I should be able to lose around 10 to 12 lbs a month. It's hard to do unless I get my exercise in. I go for my 3rd fill Sept 22. I'm looking forward to it. Keep up the great energy and don't get down. You will hit plateus with the lapband. You are doing great. Hugs!

Thank You for all the responses. I have not ment to ignore anyone. My daughter was suppose to be getting married this month and her fiancee just decided he did not want to be married. My daughter has four little ones. She has a 6 yr old ,a 4 yr old and a set of twins a boy and a girl 18 months old. My daughter is devastated and decided to take a trip for a week to get away and clear her head. I've been busy helping take care of the children. Forgive me if I seemed like I don't care enough to respond to your answers. Ready to go I'd like to keep in touch. I just was wondering if there was someone close enough that we could meet sometime and do something together have lunch or just talk. I'm having a hard time staying motivated and I need some help. In an earlier post I said that the 50 lbs that I have lost so far was unnoticed by any one except my son. I have three children of my own and three step children. They range between the ages of 26 -35 and none of them live at home and I do not see then but about once every two weeks or so. I think I did not mention also that I did not tell anyone that I was having the lapband. I still haven't told anyone. My husband is the only one that knows and he has been very supportive. One day my son just asked me if I was losing weight. I worked so hard getting it of,, yes,, I was excited it was noticed. I think people are just too wrapped up in their own lives to notice much of anything unless it pertains to themselves. I know that I do not notice things unless it's something I'm interested in. I do notice if someone has lost weight or if they got their hair cut or if it is styled differently. I will notice clothes if they are really appealing to me. Jewelry and shoes and other things just don't get noticed by me unless someone brings it to my attention. People in general are just strange creatures. Hugs!

Lisa Congratulations on your weightloss. Girl 45 lbs is a lot of weight lost. Keep up the great job. I got kinda depressed because I have lost 50 lbs and not a soul has noticed. I had my surgery Jine 4, 2008. A couple of weeks ago my son said, " Mom,, are you losing weight?" I told him yes that I hadlost 50 lbs. It made me feel really good that he had noticed. He said he did not know at first if he should say anything to me or not I'm glad he did. I started out weighing 346 and now I weigh 296. Keep up the great job. My goal is 140 so I have a long way to go. We will be noticed for our weightloss soon.We can do this. Hugs!

Hey Girl,
How are you doing? I'm doing great! I went to the doctor and got a fill June 30th. I was nervous about the fill , but it's not that bad. It's just a stick then I heard a pop and the doctor said that was the needle entering the port. I hate needles but it was not bad at all. I'm sooooo glad I had the lapband. Doctor Felts made me feel soooo good about myself and said I was doing great. I had lost 17 lbs in a month by his scales. By my scales I had lost 20 lbs. I get another fill July 28th and I go see Dr. Felts in September. He said he expects me to lose at least 12 lbs a month. I opted to get a fill in 4 weeks, I was told I could get my second fill in three weeks.I got 1.6 cc fill this time. I have a total of 4.4cc in my band now. I forget what size band I have,, I think it's a 10cc or 12 cc band I'll ask him again next time I go. Also when you go for your fill ask for a card to track your fill and progress. They gave me one and it has your weight, BMI and fill volume. But you have to ask for the card. Since I had my fill I have better restriction than I did have but I can still eat. I just chew really good. I don't want mine too tight. As you lose you will need fills because as you lose weight the band loosens some. I just don't want to experience throwing up. Since going to the doctor June 30th I have lost an additional 7 lbs. I am well pleased with the results .

I got my surgery date! It is scheduled for June 4th. I'm nervous ,excited and scared all rolled up in one. Yesterday I started the Atkins liquid diet. It's not as hard as I thought it would be. I am more than ready for this. I will be on the road to a healthier, thinner and more active person. Hugs! Teresa
